ou're watching  us on YouTube today we're talking about a woke activist organization actively erasing gay people  a left-wing streamer's controversial comments on trans athletes and as always I'll react to some  unhinged Tik toks from the alphabet people now buckle up and let's get into it so up first we've  got to turn to our friends over at glad which for folks if you don't know glad is a major LGBT  rights activist organization in the US it was uh founded back in the 80s to advocate for victi

ms  of the HIV AIDS epidemic but it's kind of morphed into one of these nebulous alphabet movement  Charities that closely aligns with Democratic and left-wing politics and has kind of descended  into a woke parody of itself I mean that's really the only conclusion you can draw from their  latest language guide that they just dropped and I before we even get into the crazy details  of this language guide I just want to say like in Ever Changing they updated every year language  guide is is kind

of a little bit of an orwellian concept to me like I don't really think we need  a a language guide that's constantly changing to tell us what words are problematic and what the  new acceptable terminology is I mean let me know uh what you think but that seems unnecessary  and a little bit creepy to me anyway glad puts out these language guides every year and it's  just been noticed and reported on that their latest one labels the term homosexual as outdated  derogatory and offensive it recommen

ds using gay or lesbian instead but even that is potentially  problematic now they do offer up an alternative which is quote same gender loving doesn't exactly  roll off the tongue smoothly there does it in the passage suggesting this alternative glad actually  claims that same gender loving is an Afrocentric alternative to what are considered eurocentric or  white identities like gay and lesbian huh I have never before heard gay and lesbian described  as white identities lots of people who aren

't white fall into these categories and identify  with these labels anyway at first glance this is just kind of a another laughable example of a  woke organization engaging in mental gymnastics to try to stay ahead of the progressive curve  and it's another example of what happens when organizations that were founded for an important  purpose but then see much of their goals achieved have to keep shifting their goal posts to new  and eventually more absurd territory in order to justify and perpe

tuate their own existence and  keep those donor checks flowing in another thing that's really funny about this is that while it  is true that in some cases homosexual was used as a derogatory term it was also sometimes not used  that way and just used as a descriptive accurate term meaning attracted to the same sex but what's  so hilarious is that the word queer actually was for a long time used almost exclusively as  an insult for gay people yet glad now lists that term as an acceptable and fav

orable way to  describe the community to be fair some people like that word now and have attempted to reclaim it  but it's still bizarre to me that glad is saying that an accurate term with far less historical  stigma is now offensive and problematic but a term with a lot more baggage is is now fine and  woke and trendy this is inconsistent to say the least and personally as a gay man I would much  rather be referred to as homosexual than as queer meanwhile this whole notion of same gender lovin

g  is is not just a mouthful but it's also inaccurate gay people aren't attracted to the same gender at  least not in the way that organizations like glad define gender which is subject to your internal  sense of feeling or gender identity our immutable orientation and attraction is towards members of  the same biological sex not gender identity not gender not any of these Notions and suggesting  otherwise not only erases the real ity of gay people's experience but it actually undercuts the  arg

uments that we used to achieve our acceptance and tolerance in the first place it's not a choice  remember or is it subject to change and shifts in identity after all so we should treat this Saga  at glad seriously not just laugh at it because it's also part of the progressive left's broader  attempt to erase biological sex as a meaningful concept and honestly declare war on reality  for example example we have the Democratic legislation the equality act that would literally  redefine under fede

ral law the term sex to include self-defined gender identity therefore erasing  biological sex as a concept in our law and in our language we see this same kind of denial  of biological reality in the Progressive left's continued attempt to defend the participation of  male biological males in women's sports because that position requires a denial of the realities  of biological sex all of this goes far beyond just advocating for acceptance and tolerance for  the LGBT community it amounts to som

't think that biological men should play women's sports  okay well here's the thing just like what you just said about uh third trimester abortions oh  here we go just exactly the same principle exists for uh the concept of like biological Men playing  in uh women's sports what do you mean by that it's not a thing or it's incredibly rare no not only is  it incredibly rare but also beyond that the the it is it is simply designed as a talking point that  is uh that is divisive because the conserva

tive movement's overarching goal is to erase trans  people from public exist and to drive fear so the first part of Hassan's argument is that it's  a tiny issue that it's barely affecting anyone and that it's all just manufactured outrage I think  there's a grain of Truth in this in that it's not like there are transgender athletes competing in  every girl sport at every school or anything like that it is still something of a rare phenomena  but for the people involved for the Riley gains of the

world who have been forced to compete against  biological males and have had lost opportunities and recognition and fairness as a result it is  a real issue and it shouldn't be dismissed and downplayed there are lots of issues for example  the police shooting unarmed black men that only happen a a select few times in a given year but  nobody would argue that they're insignificant or unimportant just because they're rare it also  doesn't make your position correct just to say that you know this

is being pushed with nefarious  purposes or it's a very rare incident you actually haven't defended your position at all it's it's  almost irrelevant the second clip he tries to argue that it hurts biological women to have sex  segregated Sports I guess take a listen baked in concept a principle of fairness in sports that  people believe and abide by for sure so they realized if you want to be anti-trans you have to  pair that up with an area with a with a narrative of fairness trans people part

icipating in sports  is unfair because trans women are are actually stronger than CIS women you know what you called  biological women and and trans people are actually indecently trying to maliciously enter the arena  of I don't I don't think that's the case I don't I no no no I know you're not saying that but I'm  just saying I agree I don't agree yeah I don't agree how they presented it I think they're just  trying to fit into to the yeah go ahead sorry and and here's the thing that was a phe

nomenally  successful narrative because if you look at the actual like uh approval ratings of such an  marginal such an incomprehensible thing that no one should ever even think about Beyond like  Beyond unless you were constantly prodded to think about it you would never think about it the  the this issue basically was hammered in to the public Consciousness as a deliberate mechanism to  write anti-trans bills which were very damaging not only to the the small like two or three trans  students

that were like participating in athletic competitions in some states like Kansas there was  literally four trans girls that were participating in compe let me just go sorry um it was it was  the bill was dangerous but beyond that it actually harmed in places like Ohio CIS women because they  implemented how are you going to figure out who's trans and who's not they literally started saying  that they were going to push for bills like penis inspection day that's sounds like a joke but you  have a

Republican party that was now pushing for that was now pushing for bills to to say if a  parent in the opposing team decides that like there might be suspicion that there's a trans girl  playing on the opposing team then then someone has to come in and check their if they're trans  ridiculous but this is a really bizarre argument to me because it seems to rest on the fact that  schools or athletic competitions don't know which students are transgender and which students are  not which is just n

ot true like of course I I have no idea if that's actually a thing and if it  is I don't support that specific instance or Bill but there's no need for genital inspections in any  case and that's not something that's inherently tied up with the position of supporting sex  agregation in sports schools and administrators do know which students are transgender and which  ones are not they can request and consult basic documents like birth certificates and I also  I really don't think that parents a

nd students would would lie of of transgender students would  actually try to pull over a fast one or anything like that I really I can't imagine them doing  that so to say that because it would have to be enforced somehow it must hurt biological women  doesn't make a lot of sense to me I think letting people like Leah Thomas compete in Collegiate  swimming hurts biological women because I mean Riley gains literally what was tied with Thomas  and then wasn't allowed to be on the podium and in th

e picture holding the trophy they had Leah  hold it instead and I've covered on this show before instances where biological women have been  injured and hurt in girl Sports by biologically male competitors who are stronger and it's a  really large imbalance you can try to stake out a position defending transgender women in sports but  it just feels gasy for somebody who's supposed to be like of the most influential and notable voices  on the left to tell us that it's actually bad for biological

paca that they use to teach  kids I guess hey y'all let me introduce you to our non-binary alpaka the kids voted on a gender  neutral name Alex for them Alex was there to help me during the really quiet moments when nobody  would talk during virtual learning yes they were so quiet but then I also took opportunity to teach  my students about how to resp respect people's pronouns did Alex ever get misgendered yes but  then it opened up some teachable moments about what to do when that would happen

for example hey  Mr V did he just wake up from his nap oh do you mean that they wake up from their nap yeah they  just did who would apologize quickly make the correction and move on I started off modeling  how to correct somebody and then afterwards my students would correct each other whenever  somebody would misgender Alex here representation in the classroom matters my kids were fifth  graders and they still got a kick out of Alex oh yes and here's Alex's friend linking the who  goes by pro

nouns Heim at first my students thought that he had very feminine features so they thought  that he was a girl and this is why we should never assume somebody's gender just based on what they  look like all right Lincoln say something hello my students were really surprised how low his voice  sounded don't assume what the there's so many things about this I don't know what to say for one  the Llama voice at the beginning that he randomly did had me shook I felt unsafe so so many problems  with w

I can understand the impulse behind  it right because women do face a risk of violence from men so I can understand why a woman would  be more comfortable with a female lift driver for example but then that brings us to the other  piece of this puzzle that doesn't make much sense if it's women plus which again the the is a woman  plus but if it's women and non-binary people and non-binary like they say it it's just a Feeling  Just A vibe just an aesthetic it's just you don't have to do anything

kind of just misses the point that that real life is is complicated  it's messy and sometimes we have something called competing rights where we have one group's rights  clashing with another other group's rights so there are some cases where transgender rights as  this person sees it conflict with women's rights and so to just say a feminist has to support  all women right and transgender rights it's like missing missing the point that sometimes you  do have to make choices you have to make tra

transwoman is a perfectly legitimate concept to exist but exists as a different concept Than a  Woman and if you try to just completely conflate the two I mean it's just not reality so nobody's  going to to buy it I'm sorry and I actually do get the point that this person is saying that like if  we're concerned about biologically male athletes having an unfair Advantage if they transition and  they want to play in women's sports then we should allow people to transition as minors and then  they

avoid that puberty that they uh would give them that advantage and then there's no there's  no problem there are some problems with this logic though one is that there might actually still  be some differences that persist I don't know but would be hard to say I guess we'd have to see  and measure it but more importantly if the issue about minors transitioning is their inability to  consent to life-altering ramifications of sexual functioning and fertility then that kind of Trumps  Sports I so y

ou you like wer it makes sense that we wouldn't want to make that tradeoff because  in the grand scheme of things a child child's preserving a child's ability to have full adult  functions and have a family biologically and be fertile as an adult and make that decision  on their own when they can fully understand the ramifications like that just totally trumps  considerations over fairness in sport so I it's not really an inconsistency so much as it is a  a priority and to me it seems a like a p

riority that that's pretty common sensal and they always  like to make this point point about an unfair advantage and oh well some people are tall or some  women are stronger than other women or whatever and it's like okay well then why do we have the  category why not just have all open sex tryouts for all teams everywhere you know why you know  why because it's a huge categorical Gulf between average males and average females that requires  a separate League because if it was all just open May

the best athlete come in in many sports few or  no women would get to part participate So within women there is variation of course that's part of  sport but there's two separate categories for a reason and you are gaslighting us when you suggest  that oh it's just another form of Advantage like anything else it's different we all know it's  different that's why these categories exist all right just one left so buckle up if your brain  cells if you have any left we'll try not to lose them okay

so last night I'm sitting here at the  dinner table and my oldest daughter actually Ely misgendered me and very quickly she corrected  herself and you know things just went on but I took a second and I said hey thank you for doing  that it really made me feel very loved by you when you did that and I said I also want you to know  I will never get upset with you if you didn't correct yourself because I know we love each other  and like that's totally fine and I said I'm okay with whatever you're

t direction than what it did  go into and I think that if you found yourself in the complicated situation where one of a parents  of the two parents comes out as trans later in life and decides to transition well that's a  complicated situation we could dive into but if you are in that situation it actually seems like  this tick tocker is handling it pretty well with a lot of understanding and Grace for their child  and so I actually don't think there's really much of anything in this video to g
