if you love to snorkel and being greeted  by gentle pigs on the Sandy Beach then this video of Koh Samui Thailand is for you. join me as I take you for a day trip on our last day in Thailand off to the beautiful island of Koh Taen from Koh Samui to go snorkel over the reefs and swim with the fishes we then  head over to the famed Madsum Beach which is popularly known as the island of pigs literally this island has a pretty cool story that I'll tell you all about as we  explore it before heading
back to Koh Samui to visit the night market as we wrap our day  up with one of the most memorable dinners in Thailand morning guys so we could  use breakfast coupons here at the Cosi Samui hotel I got myself chicken pot  pie and Thai Ice tea and then we were off in this party bus to the beach of  Koh Samui to take a speedboat to the Koh Taen island really fun ride because today we're going to  be going speed boating and we're also doing snorkling so stay tuned for some ridiculously  fun views so
me ridiculously fun experiences snorkeling off the coast of Koh Samui and then we're  going to be going to Madsum beach so I'll show you guys so lunch is going to be a little earlier I [Music] then we can just stop here for one hour who's is this? yeah hello hello hello guys welcome to the  coral reef that lies right off of the coast of Koh Samui Thailand this is specifically near  an area called Liam Yai I'm not sure if I'm pronouncing that correct but that's what it is  it's a vibrant underwat
er civilization that is inhabited by three main types of creatures  these families are predominantly stagghorn they resemble trees. Funghidae - they resemble  mushroom shaped corals and Musidae or Merulidae resembling pulsing brains you're going to be  seeing all three of those in this particular video so stick around watch boss I'm basically  just standing on the corals itself watch the beauty of nature that unfolds in front of  you now I kind of made it a little bit more easy watching easy lis
tening kind of a thing  for you guys so yeah that that kind of looks like stag horn right there cuz it's more  tree structured guys this is Unforgettable experience oh [Music] yo Emma can you see it? huh this underwater city hosts millions  of different Lodgers guys fish octopi sea urchins cucumbers well sea  cucumbers uh overall coral reefs anywhere in the world are super essential  not just to the ocean floor and the ocean ecosystem everything just being connected  as simplistically as I can p
ut it kind of makes for for these to be very valuable  resources which uh should be taken care [Music] of so this particular Reef where we are at  right now it spans roughly about 200 m in length which is not much compared to something like  the Great Barrier Reef (Australia) or the reef off of the coast of the Philippines but this is what I'm  kind of referring to is just within the Koh Samui region [Music] itself guys Great Barrier Reef (Australia) and  now this let's go going back to the leng
th of the reef topic so one of the saddest things is that  200 m is left but 72% of Thailand's reefs have already been damaged so efforts to protect it  are super crucial efforts to protect it against pollution plastic boat traffic and divers  things like that and again, climate change[Music] [Music] unreal experience  guys look at Jeremy really enjoying himself over here all the guys  so many people doing [Music] this absolutely worth coming here like at least a 100 times let's go I have to say
experiencing this with a group of people is super fantastic  guys someone sees something Beautiful they tell the entire group and then you guys all we all went  over there to check that place out it was a little tough especially because the water was so salty  and my eyes kept burning non-stop because the suction from the uh glasses was not really holding  up so but regardless this is so beautiful right like everywhere you turn you could see a different  formation something very unique somethin
g really beautiful a lot of it was also bleached you could  definitely tell but it was beautiful regardless especially once you got to see so much beautiful  marine life over [Music] there oh no [Music] yeah so that happened I scraped myself pretty  badly, you can't really see it right now in the water but it became pretty bad once  uh I got out of the water and like uh some of the areas I had scraped myself  off on the corals was uh not very good not very good but uh regardless it was  super fu
n being here and uh I'm going to be posting some pictures of it in the  end as to what the damage looked like[Music] so I did mention earlier that uh about  72% of Thailand's coral reef population has kind of wiped out but uh again everything is  not Doom and Gloom there are some significant sustainability efforts that are being taken  right now uh including marine biologists at the Four Seasons at Koh Samui who have undertaken  a remarkable project to resurrect the coral reef that's our boat us
ing some Innovative  methods um they fought against Oceanic threats and they're trying to bring back a lot of the  reefs back to life uh at additionally there's Coral restoration projects from the government  itself there's Beach cleanups there's removing discarded fishing nets that harm the reef  uh small things here and there everything helps also have you noticed how the light  is constantly changing the Hue of the water look at that look at that it was greenish  greenish tint and now it has
become like a bluish tint uh kind of water all of that was  happening because of the refraction of the light and the depth of the water was constantly  changing plus the corals also have a little bit of reflective skin to them so that was super  cool for me to witness guys let me know in the comments down below what you guys are thinking  about this like what's this experience like for you? 1 2 three four boats later that's  our boat let's get back to the boat now so guys in 2021 alone Koh Samui
attracted  over 200,000 visitors fortunately most of the beaches that are super packed and  busy are Chaweng and Lamai, but the reef near Laim Yai remains a peaceful Paradise by and  large by and large this reef is part of the Greater Coral Triangle region and even though it might be a little smaller in size, it packs quite a punch as you can already see, due to the sheer "big"-ness of it (it hosts a lot of life for its size) so yes, this has been a super cool experience for me doing this and b
eing here overall, I can keep talking about coral reefs for days guys like how they are such biodiversity hotspots, carbon sinks they have economic importance, medicines and bio-prospecting this is cool stuff man, seriously cool stuff anyways, I will let you guys see what Kat gets up to now! [Music] not a successful mission for me did not  do a good job I tried my best but it's very hard out here I drowned a couple  times do not remember how to use the snorkel how was your experience good awesom
e awesome  awesome awesome awesome awesome how was your how was it amazing and how it was for you it was good until  I forgot how to GoPro I forgot how to swim and GoPro at the same time this might not be the best footage  you've ever so hard that's good that's how you do [Music] Emma: "like and subscribe; like and subscribe" she's a natural a natural guys we cut ourselves a little bit but it's not  bad at all just like salt water cleans right up on to Adventure number two Madsum Beach [Music] d
riving on beach is also called Pig Island  and there's a reason why it's called that because we to see some Boars and Pigs on the island right now  let me show you once we get closer to the island itself [Music] so guys this is why it's called Madsum Beach  slash Pig Beach because you get to see pigs as soon as you come on the beach so they they greet you  in the gentlest way possible and it's absolutely beautiful pretty massive yeah really big up close if you see, you feel like it's a baby rhin
o basically oh one's also been cut just like like me they  probably fight as well because on one's sides there are cuts guys apologies for the technical difficulties  but over here I was explaining that because there was a lot less traffic you could see a more  natural formation of the water over here and that almost kind of looked like a tropical  rain foresty kind of area where you would see muddied waters and probably crabs came over  here that's what I was trying to explain that I  felt I wa
s walking through that point no  no no no I'm from Canada sir you oh nice so guys shout out to Fai Cheong, a seasoned traveler  who I met and made friends with on this beach itself the two of us we tagged along and then we  actually went to check out this very beautiful view point that going to be see in a bit and Fai, if you're watching this it was a pleasure to meet you and I absolutely hope that our paths  cross again very soon these are the wonders of travel guys you make friends in the most
unexpected ways and places and then those are the best gifts in life for whoever wants  it yeah that's why absolutely yeah okay [Music] so guys the quirky history behind Koh Madsum becoming pig island was on this board which kind of explains that long ago there was a  person called Mr Kitt who had a really big heart and then he ended up buying four  pigs at an auction when he saw them at Surat Thani and then he brought them with himself  to Madsum beach or Madsum Island itself once he got them
he realized that pigs require  a lot more nutrition so he paired with a bigger tour group so that they created the Pig  Island experience which you see here today so that's the crazy history behind it let me  know in the comments down below what you think I think we came from there there more stuff  to do over there but we got to get back and have some lunch so show you guys some sights on the  way when you come here bring with yourself a well- padded pair of flipflops because walking  on this
beach was like walking on shards of glass you can see me holding up some of these  broken shells which only shows to you that the tides crashed into the island a lot and that would  basically make very coarse kind of sand beach over [Music] here yellow color yummy yummy green color vegetarian lunch is served guys more rice that's good so we got some some kind of sweet and sour [Music] Ahh, Pad Kra Pow! TFC (Thai Fried Chicken)! thanks thanks so much you sure cannot get bored of these fruits ple
ase thanks thanks that that's awesome thanks Marcus! we're heading back  to Mainland guys see you guys in a bit we leave this place now guys this is such a  wonderful experience today um would definitely want to come back over here definitely recommend  for you guys to do this but if you did not lots of footage lots of content that I showed for you  guys I hope you guys enjoyed and let's get on the boat oh look at that look at that look at I got back and I got greeted by this  beautiful Datsun s
o guys this was the central Chaweng Night Market it was right behind the Cosi Samui hotel that I was staying at right behind the Central Chaweng Mall that I showed to you  guys in the previous Vlog and to be honest this night market was very small but it was more of a  touristy Kind of Night Market because of majority of the tourists who came in this area so you  could tell that by looking at the prices itself uh however it was a fun walk it was something  different that I got to see and do as s
oon as we got back I had a little bit of time on my  hands so I wanted to kind of check this area out besides some of us also wanted to buy a few  uh things to before we left Thailand right from this night market itself so yeah take a look take  a look around as to what you guys feel and let me know in the comments down below if you've been to  this night market [Music] before [Music] so guys we had to make our last dinner in Thailand to be  a little bit fancy I am really good at figuring places
like these out I just have a knack for it  so I found out this place called Phensiri and it turns out to be one of the best Thai spots that  I've ever eaten at it was a super good decision because all of my crew super enjoyed it as well  we all shared our food one by one I got the mango salad and everyone else got Pad Thai and a few other  things but yeah this was such a night to remember we came back we walked around a little bit in  the central Samui area and that was the night and with that
I conclude my trip to Thailand at  least for now before I move on to my next country Koh Samui was the perfect icing on the really tasty  and Awesome Adventure that is Thailand what has this experience been like for you? do my videos  make you want to go visit Thailand now? comment down below and let me know and if you're new to  my Channel please subscribe to keep up with the next secret destination! if you want to have this  adventure fill trip like mine to Paradise that is Thailand then click
