Local activist sues Idaho State Police officers for alleged civil rights violations

It stems from being arrested at an abortion rights protest, she said she's doing what's right and it was hard to get her life back in order.

good evening and abortion rights activist is suing several state police officers claiming they violated her civil rights police arrested 35-year-old Avalon Hardy at a protest at the State House last summer a judge eventually acquitted her but being arrested in the first place will turn to Avalon's world upside down Abby Dave spoke with her earlier today so Abby the question is what does she hope to get out of this lawsuit well Brian and Morgan Hardy is really asking for money and she's asking IS
P to acknowledge officers violated her rights I reached out to Idaho State Police about her lawsuit but a spokesperson told me they cannot comment on pending litigation it has been a long year for local activist Avalon Hardy it's been kind of a roller coaster Idaho state police arrested the 35 year old on June 28 2022 a year later she filed a lawsuit against four ISP officers and several other unnamed Law Enforcement Officers we need to stand up for ourselves and stand up for what's right she sa
ys police violated her civil rights wrongfully arrested and jailed her used excessive force and deliberately fabricated evidence it stems from an abortion rights protest outside the Idaho state capitol last summer and I didn't agree with what had been happen when the Roe versus way it had been overturned I was there to kind of support the community and have a voice court documents show ISP officers claimed Hardy repeatedly shoved now Lieutenant Michael Kish during the protest Hardy was originall
y charged with felony battery of a law enforcement officer but that charge was later dropped down to a misdemeanor did you shove him no during Hardy's quick trial in January 2023 a judge acquitted her of the charges Hardy claims the judge overseeing her case made that decision after he saw a video prosecutors presented in court showing Hardy accidentally touching Kish as she tried to get around him but not pushing him Hardy's lawsuit shows Kish even testified in her trial he didn't remember Hard
y shoving him it was irritating that I even had to be defend myself for something that I didn't do and although the judge cleared her Hardy says the damage was already done I kind of had to start from the bottom with my salon business and kind of start over and rebuild clientele my kids have suffered they've been targeted at school it's been hard to kind of get my life back in order but I'm going to continue to try Hardy does want I ISP police to pay for the hardship this situation caused but sh
e says she's not doing it for the money she really just wants justice but again Brian Morgan ISP says that they can't comment because this is pending litigation and again according to her lawsuit she has and according to i-courts the criminal database shows that she has been acquitted of these charges as well yes all right Abby thank you

@philpowers1798

while they may have violated her rights, its ironic how she was fighting for the right to murder innocent children and complains about her arrest. Makes it hard to agree with her.
