Megan Montero with Fox 21 in Colorado Springs uh Megan I70 we've been focused on those issues but as I understand it parts of I25 also having some problems this morning yeah you know that's right on and off through most of the morning I25 has seen some closures in one lane or the other now take a look right now we are actually on I25 right now traffic going very slowly I talked to Colorado State Patrol and they've said this has been quite a busy morning with lots of slide offs and accidents and
they're also for the most part for the City of Colorado Springs they are on accident alert right now it is quite an intense morning for this area I uh talking to a co-anchor Marissa Torres she's from Colorado Springs Marissa you uh say I miss that area it's beautiful I mean Megan what do you make of it yesterday um before we let you go winter weather advisories in effect this morning there was a lot of moisture associated with this thing Denver got a lot of rain about 8/10 of an inch of rain and
and then Colorado Springs went ahead and now under that winter storm warning did we see an uptick in some of the moisture south of Denver is that what it was yeah significantly so this morning we were kind of warning our area about whether or not they were going to be affected by what we call the rain snow line and whether it was going to change over to rain and also know a temperature is affected with a lot of that but we did see a huge surge of moisture come into this area and then with the w
inds at 700 mbars um that tends to drive all that moisture and all the air flow up against the mountains in this area and that actually acts like a snow multiplier for this area so in the last 24 hours our forast models were going from anywhere up to 2 feet but as we kept going through the day yesterday it just kept increasing over and over and over again because of the amount of moisture that has been surged into this area so we saw very heavy and wet snow very slushy conditions but as we went
through the morning it actually started to change and so now we're seeing a snow multiplier on top of that and that's the perspective I was hoping to get from you excellent excellent Fox's Megan Montero with Fox 21 in Colorado Springs enjoy the snow be safe out there though and um as soon as it arrives as you know it'll be gone 40s fors by by Friday Megan thank you

Ah spring time in the Rockies

@WhacAmole

South central Colorado here. Besides about a foot a few weeks ago and this storm with about 8" so far, we've had about 6" combined for all winter and fall. Nice to finally get some.

@cowarddonnie-ji5yz

@angelamclarty7660

Here in New Jersey it's 64 degrees going to 70 . For the past two days it's been great.

@LTV_inc

I grew up near Boulder, there’s nothing like getting stranded on your way home from work…. 😊

@Eclipse-ss7ko

lived in CS for over 23 years. Snow is usually drier but in the spring time very wet. My sister lives in Falcon just east of CS so they are snowed in for a day.

@JHall-dl1sb

Wonder the weather brought on by their government officials recently .
