Solomon Alexander's Musial Moments program is inspiring a new generation of champions. Not only on the field, but also in their communities and beyond.

you know what it's Wacky Wednesday right sometimes the most important lessons come not from the pages of a textbook but from life's moments that are unscripted please repeat after me have fun that's the message from Solomon Alexander cooking with grease baby I love it now the guest speaker today at Lafayette Prep Academy by show of hands who's ever heard of Stan Musial before it's all part of his musical moments program and sometimes a 45-minute assembly about good sportsmanship and the example
set by St Louis Cardinals Hall of Famer Stan Musial to use that life example of Stan Musial to be better classmates teammates better citizens better people in their communities it's the 2022 Museum Awards the musical moments curriculum is a spin-off of the nationally televised musical awards which take place every November celebrating the greatest moments of sportsmanship that take place throughout the country and sometimes around the globe and honoring those who embody class and character in sp
orts it's been an annual event in St Louis since 2005 and there may be no one more qualified to carry on its Mission the rest of the year born in St Louis Alexander was raised by a single mom home was wherever they could make it we were all over the place didn't have much money so we stayed as long as our money could allow us they found belonging and hope in each other she always told me I'd be president I mean she had these aspirations I mean she would say things like that to me all the time go
od afternoon this is Solomon Alexander from the sports commission with that kind of encouragement Alexander beat the odds and went to college after a few years as a teacher he was hired by the St Louis Sports Commission in 2007. he's now director of their non-profit Sports Foundation I like to call Solomon our sportsmanship evangelist back at Lafayette prep please repeat after me play right it's part of his presentation which includes lessons about having fun and playing right Alexander shows vi

beautiful how in all of them they had a great spirit and they were all kind to each other and strong no matter what happened I guess the most important ability about yourself is your availability I think that was a very powerful part of the speech and I think that was something I'll remember Stan Musial understood this in a world where victories are celebrated with fervor and defeats can leave lasting scars Heroes can be found at unexpected times how you treat people matters more than anything b
