one of the major questions surrounding Mass Effect
5 has been if original devs are returning and while there are several veterans from the original
trilogy that are returning it seems like one of the founding fathers behind Mass effects music Sam
Huck might not be returning while looking through cut content I found this song titled Shepherd's
return and posted about it on Twitter someone then tagged Sam saying he needs to return and he posted
this reply that says it's not going to happen an
d while Mass Effect 5 doesn't need to bring back
everything from the original trilogy to recapture the magic and Nostalgia this is something that
I am surprised about in February of last year he even posted this tweet that seems like it could
have been hinting at Mass Effect 5 especially with the audio that actually plays it sounds like
Mass Effect music and at first I thought the take five meant Mass Effect 5 but take five is
actually the equipment he's working on so yeah I thought this me
ant he was returning and now I'm
just not really sure but I suppose the Mass Effect 5 teaser trailer from 2020 did have Benjamin
walit and that small clip of music was really beautiful but the teaser from last year's N7 day
did have music that had been composed by Sam Huck as it was mostly reused music from previous
games and some of last year's teasers did also contain Andromeda music and some of andromeda's
soundtracks are really beautiful I genuinely love some of the music from that game
but the music in
the original trilogy helped Define the franchise Mass Effect would not have been as successful
as it was without Sam hulick and Jack wall and this actually makes me sad because Sam hulick
has expressed interest in returning and even commented on wanting to work on the rumored Mass
Effect TV show and he even went back to work on the Mass Effect legendary edition so it seems
like his standing with BioWare is still good where he was able to return recently and Jack wall
said
in an interview from 2021 that he'd like to return too you cannot deny their impact on the
series and having them not return would be such a letdown we know BioWare is in the process of
trying to essentially win back the fan base they have basically said as much and I think bringing
back the iconic composers behind some of the most iconic soundtracks in all of gaming history would
have really helped this cause especially because the music is just so intrinsic to the franchise
and we have a
lready seen them rely on Old Trilogy music to bring fans back in So if this is the case
if Sam hulick isn't returning I will be extremely disappointed I listen to Mass Effect music almost
every day while writing scripts and researching topics I listen to the soundtrack Non-Stop and
it's hard to imagine Liara and iliam and Omega and all the iconic locations in the original
trilogy without the amazing music that adds to the feeling of being there I had really hoped
that with last year's tease
s with the music that it would have had some more additional meaning
that they would be trying to bring back the essence of mass effect's iconic music and I just
really don't think that's possible without the original composers maybe I'm being dramatic and
people might think differently than I do but I am really sad about this if it is true anyways and
while Sam wasn't the only composer on the original trilogy he was there from the very beginning with
Jack wall they composed the main theme
together and Sam went on to compose the Normandy theme
Uncharted worlds Mars and I'm proud of you some of the most iconic tracks in the entire franchise Sam
is the only composer who worked on all three games so I really do hope that the original composers
of the trilogy return especially Sam hulick and Jack wall who gave Mass Effect its unique and
iconic sound no Mass Effect doesn't need to rely on Nostalgia but bringing back part of what
made it great while letting Jack wall and Sam HCK cr
eate brand new music for the franchise would
make it extra special and while going through Sam's unreleased music there is a track called
space station Epsilon and this track is really good you can really feel the synth Tron Vibes
but the Epsilon name is especially interesting maybe there was another space station that never
came to be or maybe this is from when Mass Effect was going to be called Epsilon but either way
it's interesting we've seen Epsilon return in the latest teaser and now
we're seeing music
that was never released titled Epsilon either way we truly don't know if Sam's is returning but
it seems like he may not be but I will hold on to copium that he is I hope that this tweet was to
throw us off his tracks and that he is indeed returning and one day we can look back and laugh
at the silly tweet that definitely didn't mean he wasn't returning and to show some appreciation for
Sam's Music here is some music that was unreleased until last year this was a possible
theme for
Andromeda which Sam didn't end up working on and I'll also play the three unused Mass
Effect soundtracks starting with space station Epsilon so what do you think how would you feel if Sam
