from 2002 to 2012. We have mainly two generations of the RX-8. One is from 2002 to 2008 and
the other is from 2008 to 2012. First, we got those vehicles
as series-1 and series-2. There are special trims, namely,
Mazda Speed, Spirit-R, and RX8-R3. They are called series-3
. But there are two series

as we tell you through our recent videos due to day-by-day price increases

when we drive it. This vehicle is totally a stock car. There are some people
who modify the car than this. We've found reliability issues
from this vehicle many times. This vehicle is perfect
with no such problems. I'm talking about this specific vehicle. The main problem that
most of the vehicles have is, they say that the engine can't be used
after 50000 km as it is sealed. But this vehicle has
a mileage of about 67
000 for now. But the owner of the vehicle says that
nothing has happened to the vehicle yet. I've seen RX-8s, which have a mileage of
about 100000 or 150000 km without any issues. Also, some have faced issues
at 25000 or 30000 km. The RX-8 has been faced with the condition
of replacing a completely new engine. When these vehicles are coming
as JDM vehicles, RX-7 is a legendary vehicle
that all of us love. Of course, RX-8 was not able to win the
hearts of people or be successful like that. But w
hen we come to the category of
modern sports car in our generation, we can introduce this RX-8 as a car that
we can buy our first dream car in usual circumstances, except for the
current situation in the Sri Lankan market. Those are the things that we have to talk about the engine
and the performance of the vehicle. With that, let's talk
about the exterior design of the vehicle. Let's talk about the exterior
of the vehicle as usual. Before I talk about the exterior, I'll talk about this special
key that
we've got for Mazda RX-8. Mazda company talks about
this keyless entry. These days, most of the time, we can see
electronic keys in the vehicles. We have the push-start and keyless entry
with many options. They have made this similar to a credit card
such that you can carry it in your wallet. You can see we have three main buttons
on this. We can use them. But we don't have to push-start
in this vehicle. We can take this part out from here. We have to use this to start the car. Althoug
h it is said that keyless entry,
we have to press this. After that, we can go inside and
get started with the car using the key. Most of the time,
we can get a key card like this. In the latest vehicles,
there is the facility to start the car with a simple touch
using NFC technology. When we take this as a vehicle that comes
from 2007-2008, it is a good technology for those days. There is a practical issue about how far
we carry something like this in our wallet. With that, let's talk about

of the vehicle. Coming to the side view of the vehicle, we can talk about the specialty of
this vehicle much more. At first glance, you can see
how the design of the vehicle is. We have a very long nose in this vehicle
when we compare it with the other areas. We've got a huge cabin area. But the boot space or the rear box is
very small in this vehicle. When we talk about the lights in the fender,

we've got standard power mirrors. It is not a big thing. Here we have the keyless entry option

ike this. We have to press this to control it. Here we can't get a sensor. So, we have to press this
to use the keyless entry option. The doors can be opened widely. I told you that when we close the door
we can't see another door here. After we opened the door,
we can have an invisible handle here. By using that, we can open the door
to two sides, similar to a scissor. We call them scissor doors
or suicide doors. It is because they are not
much reliable and safe. Usually, there are pillars in v
ehicles
namely, A, B, or C. We can see the A-pillar very nicely. But we can't see a B-pillar
in this vehicle. The thing that comes as the B-pillar
can be seen here. So, the rear passengers can
get into the vehicle from here. Because of the seat belt here, they
have to face some difficulties for that. We have to put it on another side
before we enter the vehicle. If we don't consider those things, we have a strange view such that
we can see the whole interior at once. Apart from that, we can see
a curfboard
that have RX-8 on it. They are ordinary things
that we can see very often. Those are the things that we have
to talk about mainly. Let's go to the rear view of the vehicle
and see how it is. This is how you can see
the rear view of the vehicle. In the games,
definitely, we can see this rear view. This bird is disturbing us.

that suited for a sports car. Now I've put my finger
on the bottom of the boot. There is a gap similar to this size. That means we have a space similar to this
to the bottom of the boot. When we are putting things inside this,
we have to lift them like this. The practicality of that is zero. But this is a sports car. When we come to sports cars,
we don't bother about the practicality. You saw that there i
s no huge gap
at the front. Also, we don't have good enough
ground clearance from the side even. Coming to the boot space, although we have a good boot space,
its usability is very low. Those are the things that we have to talk
about the boot space. Although we lift this, most of the time
we can't put even a box inside this because of the narrow space here. Apart from that, we can open the boot
from here by using the key. Coming below, we can see
the shape of the Rotary engine from here as I tol
d you earlier. In some vehicles, we can see
even a rear fog at this place. We have duel exhaust on the two sides. We'll see how
the exhaust note of Maxda RX-8 is. Maybe you can hear
what the bird is also saying. Let's see how the sound of the vehicle is. That is how you can hear

typical Japanese scratchy plastics that we can see in a usual sports car. But this is a sports car. So, we can ignore those things. Coming from the right s
ide,
first, we can see a grab handle here. We can have power mirrors and
power windows. We have a Bose sound system. It is an option that comes with the RX-8. It would be best if you considered about that
when you are going to purchase a vehicle. Coming to the right,
we can see a steering wheel like this. I told you about the circle of
the brake light. One. Two. Here we have three circles
with the Mazda logo. We have four circles, with the largest one. We can see circles
at many places in the ve
hicle. There is another panel inside this screen.
It is also a circle. The things that are inside them,
are also circles. You may remember the triangular
Rotary symbol that was on the outside. We can see it from here. The ones who don't know about the vehicles
very much don't feel it. But this is the actual shape
that we can see in the Rotary engine. So, I'll come back to the steering wheel. We have a multifunctional steering wheel. We can see the volume up-down button
and the other functions he
re. Usually, we can see paddle shifters
in sports cars. It is not a big thing. But in this vehicle, we have
two up-paddle shifters on both sides. Here we have a part that can be pushed. There is a label named down in it. I'll show you. You can see that there is "one" here. When we put it as up,
it goes to the second. When we do this in this direction,
it should go to the first one. But it doesn't happen. To put it down,
we have to press the top one. But we can use this also. Then there are no is
sues. You can take your driving position
like this. It does up-shift when you are driving. After that, you can go
according to the way you want. But you have to make it down
from this side. It is a different thing. I found that function here for the first
time among the vehicles that I've used. We can see it like that. Coming to the cockpit view or
the dashboard, we can see three gauges. From the left one,
we can see the position of the gear lever. And we can see the gear that we are in,
when we
drive the car. We can see the coolant temperature
above that. In the middle, we can see the tachometer
or the rev-counter that has up to 9000 rpm. From the right side,
we can see the heat and the fuel gauge. In the rev-meter,
they show us the speed digitally. It is because we don't have
a speedometer in this. Coming to the seats, I've got bucket seats. It decreases my body role very much,
when I drive a sports car like this. I've got the options to make up-down and
tilt the seat similar to typ
ical Japanese vehicles. The levers are in the Japanese way. They
are not changed like the European vehicles. From the right side, we have
the lever relevant to the indicators. We can see the lever that needed
for the wipers from the left side. After going further right,
we can find a small layer like this. We can control the climate controller
by using that. There are other things here. But
I can't access them because of this screen. We can see the options that we need
for the climate controller
and the infotainment system
that we call the setup. In some vehicles, we can hear a beep sound
from each button that we press. It isn't charming. For some reason,
I can't hear that sound in this vehicle. Coming from there, we can see
our automatic gear knob like this. There are P, R, N, and D in it. When we put it to the right, we can see
the Tiptronic functions like this. In the manual vehicle of this, here in this
head, we can see a design similar to this along with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,
and the
reverse. Here we have a weird hand brake. Usually, we get a single part. But this has another part
similar to a flag. It is like a grab handle. But if you grab this,
you may face many difficulties. So, we can get them like that. We can see two cup holders here. Apart from that, we can see
another storage area like this. We can have several other storage areas
when we go back. I'll show you them later. We can see a glove compartment like this
with some other items. We can't get the door bins such
that
we can put water bottles in it. But we can put a tissue pack or
a small file in it, as I always tell you. In the RX-8, we can have the options
to get a sunroof even. But in this vehicle,
we can't see a sunroof. Those are the things that we have
to talk about. I have good enough legroom and
a headroom. You have bucket seats that can be adjusted
in a way you want. We can see everything that we expect
from a typical sports car. Let's go to the rear seats and
see how they are. We can get into
the vehicle easily
compared to other two-door sports cars. Let me make the front seat
to my driving position. Then I can compare the comfort and
the practicality of the rear seats. Now I've taken the seat back
as much as possible. Still, I can get good enough legroom. My thighs are still touching the seats. I am about 5.5 feet in height. I can get good enough legroom and
a headroom. When we are closing the doors,
we must close this door first. If not,
the two doors are not fixed correctly. The s
eat belt that you see
is the one for the front seat. At the back, we have another seatbelt
like this. We can get a grab handle from here. We can open the windows
only in this way. We can't open them further. So, the rear passengers can't
get the natural air. This is similar to an exhaust that sends
the inside air to the outside. We can see the other two cup holders here. Here we have another area like this. This is a rear-wheel drive vehicle. So, a huge shaft goes to the back
from the middle. Be
cause of that, we can't get even a space
for putting our legs from here to there. Here we have an area such that we can get
the access to the boot of the vehicle. As you can see,
there is another area like this. Those are the things that we have to talk
about the rear seats of the vehicle. Let's go to the driving seat of
the vehicle and see how the driving pleasure
of the vehicle is. Now we have to do
a road test for this vehicle. Now I'm on a busy road. According to the time, I'm not on a road
where I can road test a vehicle like this. But let's drive the car as best we can. As this is a sports car,
I put it in the manual at once. I showed you how the paddle shifters are. My driving position is like this. We can drive the vehicle very easily
by changing its gears during the times
when the rpm is about 1500 or 2000. When we want to go fast,
we can increase the speed. This car is in mint condition. This vehicle has not been driven much
in Sri Lanka. It is not easy with these bumps. If w
e consider the riding quality
of the vehicle, we can go very easily and comfortably
without much difficulty. We can't feel much difficulty
even when we ride on bumps. It is suited for a sports car. I could be able to drive the car at a speed
about 85-90, even on a narrow road. I'm afraid to go fast
because the road is a bit narrow. This is a stock car, as I told you earlier. Still, I'm at an rpm value of about 4500. There I came in the first gear. After driving European cars,
I switched the two
sides. We can get a good enough speed
even in the first gear. It was not a place where
there was a large amount of space. We can have a good turning radius
comparatively. A wheel spin came because
this is a rear-wheel drive vehicle. This is a car that we can drive
with a funky feeling. If there was a little more space
on this road, We can control the vehicle very easily. Although this is a rear-wheel drive vehicle,
we have the handlings suited for that. We can control the vehicle very easily
ac
cording to the speed of the vehicle. We can control the RX-8 that way. If you want to down-shift the vehicle, I decreased the speed of the vehicle from
60 to 20 or 15 very easily and quickly. We are not allowed to downshift
as we want. It gives us the opportunity to
do it accordingly. Most of the vehicles stop
at the second gear. But this is not so. We can get it into the first gear quickly. When we foot the accelerator next time, we can get the suited acceleration at once. As I'm in the bucket
seats,
there is no body role in me. The driving position of the vehicle is
in a very nice place suited for that. Now I came to a main road. There are many vehicles on this road. Let's give it a small try to down-shift the vehicle. It is not a good thing to do because this
is a vehicle with meager fuel consumption. When I started the video,
about half of the tank was full. At this point, the level came down to
about two small parts. That's what we should expect
from vehicles like this. That happ
ens in Rotary engines. You can see that there are
many vehicles on that side. Let's see how we can take a U-turn quickly in a road with two lanes and
a space like this. Okay. Now I'm taking the U-turn. Okay. Passed. We have to use both lanes. But we can take a U-turn
without any issues. Although this vehicle was discontinued
from 2012, we have all the safety options in
this vehicle, including the airbags. Although we don't have big mirrors, we can
adjust them according to the way we want. We can
get a riding experience suited for
a sporty vehicle in an excellent manner. No matter what anyone says about
the flaws of the RX-8, we can have the unique sporty feeling
that the vehicle has. For someone who wants to
have that kind of experience, this vehicle is the best. As there are many vehicles,
I can't ride fast. It is not good to take
such an unusual risk at this time. Although I did it for this video,
