and we have an exciting segment back on the back lot the dog days of summer adoption event is happening at Grossmont Center and we are so excited to share with you all the puppies and animals that we can adopt and kitties that's what we don't want to forget uh Darlene let me bring you in because uh share with us what this event is all about it's a 20-year long tradition I was reading yeah we've been doing these Mega adoption events for about 20 years now we do them four times a year this is the
dog days of summer which focuses on a lot of families whose kids are out for the summer so it's a really great time to adopt a pet because you have extra time to work with them and introduce them into the new home and a lot of kids are bored of course so it's a great time to bring in a new family member and get them all excited before the next year school starts but we have 28 different rescue groups coming out to one spot it's Grossmont Center in La Mesa and we do it inside the mall we take up
the entire interior of the mall all the way from Walmart down to Target with 20 create different groups and we have more than 300 animals at this event so it is a really really big event it sounds like there's such a need we've been actually talking so many times on our show about there is so many animals and shelters that need to be adopted so I do want to go down the line and talk about who everybody is good morning introduce yourself and the pet this is Diego she's a four-year-old Miss spay a
female and she has a sibling and that friends of cats we have a no-kill shelter out in East El Cajon and we have approximately 250 cats out there at any time so if you can't find a friend this weekend display anymore she has a sister that's going to be at the event so come out and see us special just come out and have a good time absolutely okay and let's uh let's chat with you guys over here I'll sit down with the sweet Chihuahua introduce yourself and this sweet little one uh yes my name is N
oelle my daughter Rose we are with uh friends of humane services of Tijuana this is uh Josh he's 11 months old and he will be there up for adoption okay Josh well hope you find a brand new friend and who is this adorable little one hi good morning good morning I'm I'm Susie and I'm with furball's forever rescue we're based out of Escondido this is Gucci he's actually been adopted from us twice this will be second time he was adopted out from us when he was about three months old it was with the
family for about two years he's two and a half now and unfortunately due to living situations they had to return him he is housebroken he walks in a leash he sits he stays he's very calm loves cats dogs and kids he's ultimately the perfect dog he just needs a family who will keep him in the next move absolutely okay way too cute okay I'm gonna go in front of you hi good morning what do we have here this is Casey he's with chihuahua rescue San Diego County he is seven years old six pounds he Lo h

to go home with them stealing your hearts in a cute little tutu thank you so much and and last but not least two is this I would say little one but he's not very little she or he's not very little hi Dan Marie I'm Barbara with Wilson Wags dog rescue also and this beautiful girl there's Tommy and she is a five-month-old Shepherd retriever mix what a unique yes and she's beautiful she's intelligent she's really pretty snuggly she's playful curious just a great dog and like all the rest of our dog
s she is spay microchipped and vaccinated and she also has two brothers who will be there tomorrow as well maybe Saturday you want to keep the family together I do want to just head back over to Darlene give us the information one more time I know it's at Grossmont Center what are the times of it all Grossmont Center 11-3 so it's only four hours so make sure you get out there for those four hours and it's inside the mall all the way from Target down to Walmart we'll have 28 different rescues and
shelters and again these are all legitimate groups that have been around for a really long time these aren't shady characters that you're adopting from off the back of Craigslist these are good rescue organizations and we really encourage people to come out because we do have such a pet overpopulation problem right now we really want to save all these guys and as soon as we get these adopted these groups will get filled up with hundreds of pets that are already on the waiting list to try to get
