It's almost hard for kids today to understand that back then there was NOTHING else like Michael Jackson. He made the blueprint that all popular pop artists today follow. His dance moves, his vocal ticks, the way he moved and handled himself, the way he sang, nothing like that had ever happened before MJ to the extent that he did it. You can thank MJ for The Weeknd, Usher, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, you name it. He also did it during a time when it was a lot more difficult to be a black artist in America, he broke the color barrier to get Billie Jean and Thriller onto MTV, that was a first.
