hello everyone today's Monday June 10 2019 is about 3:20 p.m. a rainy day and I'm exiting at the 49th Street and 7th Avenue Station supposedly there's a helicopter crash at the AXA equitable building at 787 7th Avenue which is located between 51st and 52nd streets on on 7th Avenue so only two blocks and walk up here and I'm going to check it out so here's 7th Avenue I'm going to go northward look at that I don't even need to guess where it is lots of FDNY activity already lots of police presence
people here actually taking selfies in this environment I don't know why it does look like traffic is closed beyond this point there's police police tape all around here I can't really see where the crash happened Oh I don't immediately see any kind of damage to the FSA equitable building yeah I don't see any kind of damage immediately I mean from the news reports it was a small helicopter there is confirmed one casualty which is the pilot the crash happened around 1:45 p.m. so this is a good h
our and a half after the event happened let's see if I can go around over to 6th Avenue and get a look this rain certainly doesn't help the visibility I didn't read that perhaps the pilot was trying to make an emergency landing on the rooftop of the building in poor weather such as this is us make it more challenging to do so FDNY is bringing down their gear to assist one thing's for sure with skyscrapers that tall there won't be any ladder that's tall enough to reach all the way from the ground
level all the way to the top so they have to actually enter the building themselves it's a very honorable thing for the emergency services to do Oh Oh as electricity under doing I read that the building was evacuated already it's a smart move to do considering similar events have happened with crashes into tall buildings and then they cause fires and the floors below or above and it becomes a very risky situation this crash is happening in a very busy section of midtown Manhattan Manhattan a li
ttle bit south of the area's Times Square here's the Radio City Music Hall with Rockefeller Center not too far away just by mentioning those three places you know that this area is very popular looks like they are letting some traffic move through the area unless there's just emergency vehicles [Music] so New York City Police Department has this area completely closed off looks like the western side of the 6th Avenue sidewalk is closed Radio City Music Hall personnel is trying to move pedestrian
traffic along I'll lease on this side I'm able to get a little bit closer to 51st and 52nd Street ouchy I am able to get to 50 verse 3 news crews are on the scene here it's very easy for the news crews to get here because MBC is just down the block at Rockefeller Center looks like this is as far north as I can get go on sixth Avenue or not I do see pedestrian traffic getting group so why not move over to the right here it's a little bit hard if anyone saw my severe okay thunderstorm walk video
you know how challenging it is to get the New York City with big umbrellas so today I packed a small one we have New York State Police on the line here Department of Buildings is on the scene forensics engineer okay police is informing us to get to the sidewalk so the emergency services can get through [Music] excuse me all right well looks like this part of the street is closed off too everyone's on scene right now take us 11 News Channel 4 New York State Police New York City police the fire de
partment New York City Department of Buildings is NBC 4 right now yeah they told me laugh okay here the entire northern side I mean western side of six hours close so a lot of police here and fire Fire Department personnel all right everyone I'm heading out of the area I do wish that the people's lives and health or affected by this horrible horrible tragedy today get better soon I pray for all the victims of what happened I hope that the only casualty was the pilot as as afforded by the news I
don't want that number to increase any more but thanks for joining me on this walkthrough of the helicopter crash of June 10 2009 teen be sure to subscribe like give this video a thumbs up and stay tuned for some more adventures bye bye [Music] [Music]
