happened Saturday evening after Holly Jolly the three-year-old giant snower was let out before turning in for the night and I let her out and I was just standing here and she was just sniffing around here great and then she started sniffing over there and I'm still watching the movie just hanging out here and then all of a sudden she she goes back here that's when the attack happened the 93 lb pup is pinned down by the Cougar's mouth we heard her screaming a little so then my husband comes out
and he grabs the pool stick like the pool skimmer her husband's shout startles the animal giving Holly Jolly the opportunity to escape after Holly managed to get away the mountain line wasn't done yet just 20 minutes later the big cat returned hoping its injured prey was still there only to find Holly Jolly's collar she did have surgery that she had a lot of puncture wounds many stitches they they said there was just a lot the couple posted the video to alert their neighbors to the danger the ar

Wild animals will be wild animals. Domesticated pets must be supervised or sheltered at all times.

@PAG677

Oh, heartbreaking šŸ’” to see the beautiful innocent dog attacked. Such a horrible experience. I'm so elated to know the dog survived and is recovering. ā¤Sending love ā¤ļø light and healing.ā¤

@PerAllwin1963

Knowing thereā€™s cougars in the area, why would an owner let oneā€™s dog outside alone at night? Irresponsible!!

@customer5032

Poor baby, I hope she heals quickly! šŸ˜¢

@Heyheyjuju

She was in the living room yet she didnā€™t come out to help when she heard her dog obviously screaming while being attacked ??? like I donā€™t even leave my dogs outside by them self I have to stay watching them cuz im so scared of this happening

@LadyGeckoFoot

Thankfully, this was a giant schnauzer. You can respect nature, but there are boundaries. Nature would meet technology in that case.

@janaschindel1145

We have 2 Giants the same age and weight and we have mtn lions here in northern Utah. I shared with my family bc literally this pup was 93lbs of defenselessnessšŸ˜¢ we've seen tracks in the snow in our driveway.

@greggreg2263

The dog probably just thought the cat wanted to play until it got puncturedšŸ˜¢

Massive fences. CCTV in gardens. Check the feed for movements before letting the dog out. That's how you find out if anything or anyone is already in the garden waiting. Want to live in a world that still has wildlife - you need to be proactive about protecting your pets from it and protecting it from your pets. We do like being reactive when we haven't been sufficiently proactive, though. Thankfully, and remarkably (I thought big cats tended to go for crushing the windpipe), the dog is relatively unhurt and nobody has sought revenge against Mountain Lions. Let's learn and do better.

@monatalamantes3011

Dog parents needs to be more responsible

@premedvsu

Anyone who has predators in their area and leaves the dog on supervised is not a good dog, furthermore living in such an area without owning a firearm is completely asinine!

@pamelacarter5917

HOW did you folks MISS those 3 warnings to you on that property! There IS an established mountain lion den there. Did they permit you? Look RIGHT next to your driveway for the big circle. THEN look all the way UP the hill at the shaped tree. Looks like a wildlife camera set up. THEN look UP to the TOP of the driveway and see if you do not see something squatting that looks like a human grown over with leaves or a ghillie suit. Do NOT let your dog out WITHOUT being outside with a BIG club. You're on wild land.

@biennui

The mountain lion wanted to prove the true meaning of the song "Who let the dog out?"

@MsBoEagle

While warn your neighbors, if you donā€™t follow your own advice. Glad your little doggie will be OK.

@paulgarcia2341

The last lady in the interview face would not move and looked so fake lol..

I feel for the pet dogs and cats that are attacked in their own yard and I do not blame the owners. I'm happy Holly survived and hope she has a speedy recovery. People do need to be aware though - for themselves, their children, and pets - that just because you probably never see any wild predators on your street or in the surrounding neighborhood, does not mean they aren't there. Predators by nature are masters of staying out of sight, especially during the day. They generally are out from dusk til dawn. So depending on the time of year they can be out hunting as early as 5 pm. They do not distinguish between some wild critter or your beloved fur baby. To them if they can catch it and kill it, it's a meal for them and any young they may be raising.

@AlchemistM2291

Idk what people expect when you live near wild animals or continue to develop further into nearby lands. Animals gotta eat šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø just be mindful and careful and youā€™ll be fine.

@ltdc426

If that dog is still alive then that lion was not serious,

@oldtiger8181

THIS VIDEO above is another REAL reason why owning a firearm IS THE RIGHT of every citizen.. I'm talking about a single shot rifle or shotgun to protect you, your pets, property and family. Just like California state in the video, there are other anti-2A states that want to TOTALLY strip people rights away of owning any firearm.. And once again, this video is a prime example why that is such a POOR excuse.

@gabevachon326

The lion was hungry. Welcome to the real world .
