Mumbai: Korean Youtuber Harassed While Live Streaming

Mumbai, which usually has an image of being the safest city in India, has now developed a new image after a video has started going viral on social media platforms. Although, the video is rather a shame, but too important to address at the same time. In an extremely shocking, shameful and terrifying incident, a woman YouTuber, reportedly from South Korea, was harassed by a man on the streets of Mumbai during her online live stream. The video of the incident which happened on Tuesday night is now massively going viral on social media. A small clip of the live stream video, which was later posted on Twitter by an Indian user shows the accused man grabbing the YouTuber by her hand and trying to kiss her while she was live. The woman, identified by her Twitter handle Mhyochi in, also shared the video from her Twitter account and wrote, "Last night on the stream, there was a guy who harassed me. I tried my best not to escalate the situation and leave because he was with his friend. And some people said that it was initiated by me being too friendly and engaging in the conversation. Makes me think again about streaming." In reality, the one-minute-long video clip shows the accused can be seen offering a lift to the woman YouTuber by grabbing her hand while she uncomfortably resists. When the woman refuses to sit, the accused puts a hand around her neck and tries to kiss her on the cheek. Strongly resisting the move, the woman begins to walk away, saying "Time to go home" on the live stream. However, the accused, along with another person on a scooty, follows her and offers the lift again. "Come, this seat," he can be heard saying later in the video. The woman then dodges him, saying that her house is nearby, and she will go on her own. Two men were later arrested in connection with the incident by the Mumbai police. Soon after the video surfaced on the internet, the Mumbai Police responded to the video of the woman asking her to share her contact details in DM. In a tweet posted by the Mumbai police, they said, "We have followed you. Please share your contact details in DM". Later, it was confirmed that the two accused were identified as Mobeen Chand Mohammad Shaikh, who was just 19 years old and Mohammad Naqeeb Sadrealam Ansari, who was just 20 years old, had been arrested by the Khar Suburban Police in Mumbai. After all this has happened, the woman youtuber from South Korea has said that she will still continue to show the wonderful India to her audience and one bad incident will not ruin her experience. She also added that the administration in India took quick & prompt action, which was not the case in other countries where she even had difficulties in contacting the police. Although the Mumbai police’s quick action is appreciable, incidents like these are not just a shame for the country but also raise some very big questions about women's safety in India. The viral video has badly mocked India’s image on an international stage and both the accused should be punished with the strictest possible punishment. The boy then kissed her and she pushed him away. She was still live and was visibly frustrated. As she walked away two boys followed her on the bike and kept asking if she wanted

a lift. The korean woman became very nervous and ended the live and walked away. The next day, the video went live and people were furious as it put Mumbai residents to shame. People slamed the boys for harassing the girl. Being a tourist the girl should have been respected. The Mumbai Police were tagged on social media. Upon seeing the video they were extremely shameful.
