welcome back to live at 9 everyone it's musical Monday and we got a great guest Hayden Hunter who plays here locally I'm sure you've seen him maybe around Mars that's where you say you mainly get to play so tell me how'd you get into music first off so it started when I was probably about 12 years old I picked up a guitar and I was always kind of like into alternative rock and stuff and I was like man I kind of want to make some music like those bands I don't think anyone around here does it my
friends don't know that's kind of where it all started from there and then here we are now so so we're going to play some of your music in in a second but how would you describe your sound uh kind of like a southern rock you know I think you're Classic like Blues mixed with Modest Mouse that's the easiest way Modest Mouse interesting for people that don't know Modest Mouse when I was younger I was really I was really in modest mouth really good stuff uh so I said you played at Mar where else do
you kind of play uh I'll play all around the state uh n we'll hit natches Hattisburg Vicksburg all kind of places around the states trying to get out of state this year too so that's good tell me about your band though okay so I got two lovely a lovely Rhythm Section that follows behind me a bass player named Simon O'Neal who's a Hattisburg native right now going to USM and we got Brad Carter on the drums he is uh just as good as it comes tight drummer good man so what's the best part of playing
music I mean is it is it the crowd is it is it you is it the feeling you get personally I mean is it is it giving or getting I think it's giving sometimes it's getting it just depends on the season and the time but it's mostly just giving it's good to uh be able to share things that I've wrot written to kind of I guess relieve emotion emotional strain or stress or whatever and like have other people listen to him be like yeah I get it man you know have that kind of a mentality maybe it helps th
