cameras in the field it's amazing cause you've actually reconstructed the real
thing I started to think like Napoleon that influence can be great or it can be deadly I follow in the footsteps of Alexander

Ridley Scott is an amazing director
As far as movies about napoleonic battle go, I don't think any movie will ever outdo waterloo. hundreds of extras here as opposed to tens of thousands for that movie. Even watching it today, its incredible to see. I only wish a movie of that scale could be made today with our modern drone photography and whatnot.
These were battles that averaged with over 100,000 men on the field. It’s refreshing that we’re finally going back to showing a taste of such epic scale once again. Not many people today know even the existence of such epic works by Sergei Bondarchuk when he brought the Napoleonic Wars to the big screen during the 60s and 70s. I am confident that Scott will not let us down here either. He’s done massive scale before with films like Kingdom of Heaven and Gladiator.
I hope this film gives birth to another revival of the historical epics like we got in the early 2000's. I also hope this film gets a physical release. One that has the extended version thats planned too.

Kubrick was going to do a Napoleon film. I would have loved to have seen his vision. but this Ridley Scott Napoleon film looks great. I’ll want to see it.

I hope this gets better promotional material than The Last Duel, I love that movie but not a lot of people knew about it.
Visually Ridley Scott’s movies always look absolutely amazing. And when he gets it right he’s one of the greatest directors in cinema history. But there’s no point denying that he’s made more than his fair share of turkeys along the way.
To quote Ridley from Prometheus, "Once the script is complete and everything is aligned, the directing part is easy. I know what to do and where to do it. That's the fun part but getting the script right is the most important part."
