Netflix 'Avatar: The Last Air Bender' Live Action Cast Interview

d spent so much time working on it a lot of hard work had gone into it for so long that like it's like we we just feel happy and proud of everyone that worked on the show um just because it was a it was a major work in progress and now that um you know new fans who've never seen the series but also OG fans are able to watch and it just feels like um I'm I'm I'm happy that they're able to watch it now did you feel like you deliver yeah I will o u i feel excited because um obviously we're huge fan

s of the animated series and after having spent so much time working on our show we're huge fans of ours too so um as a fan and as um people who got to portray such iconic characters uh we feel a lot of gratitude for the opportunity and we're just happy that people finally get to join in on that experience with us I only watched the uh the episode one and two but I really love it I'm going to watch it like all of the episode after this all right so yeah I'm going to I'm very excited to see it wh

ich one was better one or two yeah what it it's it's the same it's it's it's just just as good okay well I want to let you know it gets better with every single episode actually like it escalate so so episode two it's better right he you must Master the Avatar state it can be the Ultimate Weapon and Gordon is just so young you're not you weren't even born when when the show was airing yeah the the Animated Series so yeah to familiarize myself with my character actually watched the show a lot a l

ot over and over and over and over again what was the count like 26 times something crazy 26 plus it's actually 2 got to be like 35 now it's it's so weird seeing ourselves especially since like it was three years ago I think my voice was really high yeah yeah completely different I mean it very different from now yeah you were like what 11 when we started yeah and I was also like up to your tricep you can you can see there's like a major height difference in yeah did I was like here talking to D

like okay what is that and those are actually martial artist right yes were you like involved in creating your own choreography yeah oh really I'm going to stop you because you're too humble he's a world champion like in Shoon actually like he's crazy he's been doing this since he was like what' you say seven years old I'm not going to help you out on this oh really please please keep going whatever okay okay uh as far as fight scenes though I was given the opportunity to um have some creative

input thanks to the the stunt team um they sort of let me uh pick Zuko's moves and then um like really cool character moments between um you know whoever Zuko is fighting and him himself so uh I just feel really lucky that like you know something that I started out doing in my youth which changes him into acting and then being able to combine both of those passions into this project is like a dream from true yeah it's really good like a lot of comeback yeah uh do you also like maybe help other a

ctors to do their choreographer I certainly tried with the kids oh yeah with with Gordon and gow Dio I mean Gordon picked up on it like really quickly um and and they had him like in in the gym training all the time because uh Ang is supposed to be like a master air bender already at this point right so um getting to just be there for them and support them and if they needed a shoulder to rely on for a specific move or fight scene I think um I'm glad that they opened their hearts up to me and ju

st let me um you know be there for them well actually like two days ago I needed to create a form for an interview and he was just like I was like I don't know what to do we have 10 minutes and it was like Gordon relax here how about you do this and they pull something crazy I'm like but did it look cool it looked really cool there we go it was worth it it was wor it you guys looks really close to each other all the cast how long was the pre-production before you were shooting we had like a six

weeks six weeks of boot camp which boot camp like meaning um they had us training yeah stunt training so we learned all the different elements actually we all became the Avatar they're all trying to steal my role wow so and then you were shooting for like how long um we shot for on and off 12 months yeah 13 months months 12 13 months but we had a month break for uh re- shoots and stuff but we had to keep our amazing haircuts during that process so it's like we never left every morning he'd wake

up like 3 a.m. get a set put a scar on at 4:00 a.m. shave his head get a little ponytail going I'd wake up at like 4: get a set by 5 shave my head and put an arrow on awesome so you were shaving your own head oh they they would never let us do that if they if they if they let Gordon shave his own head he might in the show you might have a buzz cut then but um thank you so much for the time I think that's all the time that I got oh man okay it was nice talking to you I know where this will all le
