New Football Stadiums Opening in 2024

Kingdom Arena Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia will become the new home of Al Hilal  Saudi Football Club. Initially named Boulevard Hall and intended to be an entertainment center  for various events. Expected to open at the start of 2024 for the Riyadh Season Cup tournament, the  indoor arena will have a capacity of 26,000. With an estimated construction cost of around £500 million the stadium will  be ready by the start of 2024/25 season. Kai Tak Sports Park Kai Tak Sports Park is a multi-purpose sports venue that is being built at  the site of the

former Kai Tak Airport in Kowloon, Hong Kong. The focal point of the Sports Park  is the 50,000-seat Main Stadium, with “Pearl of the Orient” as its façade design theme. When  it opens, it will become the largest stadium in Hong Kong. The stadium will have a retractable  roof and it will be the home of the Hong Kong national football team and also rugby team. The  cost of the project is 3.8 billion dollars. Belarus National Stadium Located in Minsk the capital of Belarus, the new national stadi

um will have a capacity of  33,000 and will be the new home of the Belarusian national team. The stadium for will be built  beside the Traktor Stadium. The cost of the project is around 180 million. Nagasaki Stadium City The new stadium of J.League side V-Varen Nagasaki  will have a capacity of 20,000. The whole project, which is to be built on an area of 75,000  square metres, will feature a football stadium, with an adjacent arena, hotel, offices and  commercial wing. The cost of the project i

s around 530 million dollars. Torpedo Stadium The original stadium, also known's as  Eduard Streltsov Stadium opened in 1978, was demolished in 2022 and will be completely  rebuilt. Mallorca Son Moix Stadium The home of RCD Mallorca since 1999, Son Moix Stadium will be renovated and modernized  by mid-2024, with some works having already been completed. All stands will be renovated and the  athletics track was already removed, turning the stadium into a more classical football facility,  preserving the existing form of the stadium. The renovation of the stadium started back in 2019, with only the south stand  needing to be completed now. The capacity of the stadium will be 25,000. Mâs Monumental Opened in 1938, the Estadio Monumental,  home of Argentinian giants River Plate, will undergo a redevelopment, which has already  started in 2022. The redevelopment

will increase the capacity from 72,054 to 84,567, which will  make the stadium the largest in South America, and removing the running track. The majority  of the work has already been completed, with the total completion scheduled for July 2024. The  cost of the project is 45 million dollars. Yellow River Sports Center Stadium The Yellow River Sports Center Stadium will be built in Jinan, China, together with the  entire sports and research complex. The cost of the whole project is around 270 mi

llion dollars.  The stadium will have a capacity of 61,000. The design symbolises a shell with a pearl inside and  the stadium's façade will be coated in overlapping undulating layers shimmering in golden hues,  alluding to the nearby Yellow River. It will be the home of Shandong Taishan FC. Amahoro Stadium The Amahoro National Stadium opened in 1986 and is  the largest stadium in Rwanda. Located in Kigali it is the multi-purpose venue and is also the home  of Rwanda national football team. The

renovation of the stadium started in 2022. The stadium will  be expanded to 45,000, the roof will cover all the stands and the stadium will retain the athletics  track and oval shape. The construction cost of the project is 170 million dollars. Arena Varna The plans for a new stadium in Varna, Bulgaria  date back to 2006. With many delays the construction began back in 2015 and it stopped  in 2019. In 2022 construction resumed and we may finally see the stadium being opened in 2024. The  stadium

will have a capacity of 22,000 and will be the home of PFC Cherno More Varna. Al-Shorta Sports City Stadium The new stadium in Baghdad, Iraq will be built as  a part of a new sports facility. The new stadium will have a capacity of 10,218 and will be  the home of Al-Shorta SC. The construction has been delayed several times in the  last couple of years.
