hington owner Josh Harris Scotty I found this interesting today apparently is down in Indie with his new general manager and his new contingent and he is sitting in on all of the interviews with the quarterbacks uh not a normal thing in the NFL uh combine draft process let alone for an owner to be there period but to sit in the meetings with the potential quarterbacks that they may selected second overall well I think that's Drake May right so I think that you know I'm not surprised at all that
the guy is sitting in on all of the meetings for anything he owns the team now I know that people got sick of Daniel Snider but he's gone now and they have a new owner and you would think it would behoove him to uh be a part of their big decisions and he's the one writing the checks he is the one writing the checks that's for sure Caleb Williams of course is expected to be the top guy he made around $10 million from nil deals in his final two seasons at USC uh he said yesterday too Scotty that h
e's going to be uh thrilled if the Bears take him first or any team I hope so you're gonna be the first overall pick in the draft you should be thrilled no matter who's taking you one of the things that I'm creeped out by I read a a great article about him about all that money made at USC and everything but the story that was better in that big story was that his dad is crazy like his dad wow his father is insane allegedly with uh all of his demands and what he wants and that's where all the tal

l you something when a defensive lineman runs 449 you start thinking can he play another position other than defensive end because this guy could rush the passer and that's chop Robinson from Penn State you know uh do you see year to year things that Amaze you with the speed uh as you know the years go by and every year you see something amazing in terms of uh guys doing what chop did today are you crazy in the sense of wow it's it's every time I come here I'm Blown Away by some guy putting up a
number we haven't seen exactly I mean you could go back to Deion Sanders and his historic uh 40 time uh back in the late 80s uh before he played baseball and football as we know later on so yeah and look I I could go back to the senior ball remember Matt Jones the former Arkansas quarterback who just blew Scouts away at the senior ball with his incredible set of practices he also ran great after that he W up being a first run pick of the Jaguars now you you got to be careful it's all about prod
uction right but chop Robinson also one more nugget for you chop Robinson's 10 yard split that is way more important than a 40- yard dash the first 10 yards a 1.54 is fantastic but also number one on defensive lineman so far so guys could help themselves there's no question about it but when we talk about what is the most important thing to a great a football player it's that all 22 that game tape that means everything that's 75% I'm told of of players great but that is unbelievable explosivenes
s that first split that you talked about that's Insanity that number uh how fast that's like flash like one of marbles guy that's like your boy flash speed yeah and and look again if you're running a better than a 47 as a defensive lineman that's outstanding but a a a 449 is just insane and that obviously will help him he'll get the teams will look and see kind of how you transfer that time speed and by the way the turf here is faster we should we should mention that from talking to agents and c
lubs over the years but bottom line is as these workouts go we have more for you and by the way the linebackers will run as well and then tomorrow the DBS will run the safeties and Corners then tight ends then the quarterbacks will finally work out on Saturday those are as you know Scott absolutely huge and the workouts for all players and on Sunday okay so just so we're clear today you had the outside and inside backers the tackles and the edge rushers yes correct correct and again let's not ov
errate these 40 times for defensive lineman it's kind of funny because people go out of their minds for these times but as I mentioned the 10 yard split is way more important uh the fact that talking to Joe Baron the former Eagles president that's when he was also with the Browns and he had a hand in Personnel Joe would always say it's about the it's about the 10 yard split it's never about the 40 yard dash because again if you're worrying about a guy a defensive lineman running downfield 40 yar
ds that's probably a busted play you don't want to have that do you remember the kid from Missouri the The Edge rusher that was so incredible at the senior was he doing anything today yes Darius Robinson I'm so glad you mentioned him I actually met him okay I met him at the Super Bowl yeah he had a great senior bow he's going to go in the first round by the way I'm told by various people yeah his 10 yard split was 173 his 40 yard dash time by the way was under five flat I'm glad you asked me abo
ut him because he's he's an absolute stud one of the most versatile linemen for this this draft he could play in a 34 defensive end he could play inside in a 43 he could play in multiple fronts by the way two team two two-time Captain as Darius Robinson out of Missouri and a a high riser for the draft absolutely will go on the first round all right let's talk about um the top DB uh to work out in April it looks like Cooper dejon from Iowa I've always been blown away uh this white boy can flat ou
t do it all and um he's incredible Talent at his position but he also runs back kicks and everything else he's absolute super freak Scott this is the most versatile play for this draft Cooper jeene has played Corner safety slot Corner linebacker he also returns punts and kicks was a tremendous athlete in high school track and field Hoops uh you name it he's done it he's absolutely a first- round pick I'm told though we should mention this yes he's coming back from a fractured fibula it should no
t have any impact with him going to the top 20 you can't find guys like this this is a once I'm told a 10year player if you can find anyone like this obviously at all in 10 years that's amazing he's an absolute stud now he told reporters here this week I was there when he talked about this that he's not going to work out here though he's been cleared to workout he needs more time he just started running full speed last week his plan is if everything goes well no setbacks to work out for clubs in
the first week of April and that's going to be important just to show that he's healed up and by the way clubs could get a a further do further testing on him see how he's doing but this guy is a firste starter as soon as he's drafted you plug him as a start on defense but here's the thing again where are you going to line him up most likely it's going to be a defensive back he's not going to be a linebacker you could do it in certain packages you can do that but in the end he's he's a corner o
r safety and he's an absolute stud and I'm so glad you mentioned him because he's a great athlete and I know people are making a big deal about the fractured fibla but I'm told that by the way that injury which he suffered in mid- November and need surgery right then as well it's always about the long term and nobody that I've talked to thinks it's going to be a problem yeah I mean that's like a six to eight week heal and the younger you are the easier uh it heals I've seen a lot of guys have th
e fibula broken the younger the better if you're old it can be a problem but he can play DB slot safety linebacker the kid can do it all run kicks he is a freak all right what is the latest we have been talking all day on this show about Justin Fields I'm guessing there's no progress yet they're not getting what they want the Bears yes so look the the word around the league is a second round pick a good second round pick could probably get it done now I know a lot of people are talking about the
Falcons let me straighten something out here and I'm not saying he's not going to go there I know there's some odds makers who have made them the favorite Zack Robinson who's now their offensive coordinator he's calling play for the first time in his career he's worked with the Rams exclusively with two dropback quarterbacks Jared gof and Matthew Stafford he's not work with a guy like Justin Fields it's not a great fit they're running a old school West Coast offense so Justin fields to me is a
guy that needs a lot of coaching we know how you and I have talked about this now for three years with this kid very very gifted no one's challenging his arm strength he's got that you know he can move but he's not a precise passer his problems I'm told closing games he's not great in the fourth quarter and look Beauty's United Beholder he needs a lot of coaching by the way you know people are talking about the Raiders Luke gsy coached them for two years I that didn't go very well let's call it
like it is very inconsistent so there's no CLA favorite right now no matter what's out there he I still think they're going to find us soon in fact by the way Justin Fields is on under contract here the thing is they need to move him because we know they're drafting a quarterback um I mean the Bears know what they're doing they're they're going to draft a quarterback so the bottom line is they want to move Fields as soon as possible but they're not as Ryan Paul said they're GM they're not in a r
ush to do it but I could tell you they're going to know who's interested here this is why these are this is the way it works Scott you find out who wants in and you develop those talks as we get closer to free agency so uh the Steelers GM Omar Khan has said as early as today that um he has all the faith in Kenny picket although adding another quarterback is still an option so is he just playing games well first of all Mason Rudolph they want him back and and that that should happen uh but they a
ctually want to have two more quarterbacks the bottom line is when you look at the situation they want Kenny picket to be the starter they want to be proven right you and you and I know how we struggled last season there's no arguing against it he had a great offseason really poor regular season they unfortunately got hurt but they want him to be the guy Justin Fields I know people are talking about him there I I don't I don't get a really strong feeling that's going to happen not ruling that ou
t there but I don't get that strong feeling right now and by the way if Fields came there Arthur Smith though he has coached a guy who can move remember he worked with Marcus Mariota some years ago so it's not like he hasn't work with someone who can move so what is the latest on Russell Wilson they have to cut him by March 17th is that about right or they owe him a ton of money yeah so they already owe him Scott they owe they owe him a ton of money they ready home 39 million but the problem is
the 2025 salary becomes fully guaranteed on March 17th that's 37 million so they're going to want to move him no they've got no takers no one's taking that contract it's highly unlikely they're gonna be find anyone to do a trade with him and that what they'll do is they'll have to they'll have to wind up cutting them they're going to have to eat a certain amount of dead money and obviously guaranteed money and then J Jared by the way they like he's still under contract he'll be the one of the gu
ys that'll compete for that starting job uh for this season but they would obviously add another quarterback so that the Broncos have a lot of things going on right now at the quarterback position for sure well I mean they already owe him 39 million they would have to give him 37 million and he actually won a bunch of games at the end of the season the bottom line is is that Shawn Peyton just doesn't like him yeah and remember they try to get they try to get him to to redo his deal and he said a
