No longer you/Tiresias [Epic: The Musical Animatic]

*gives character a staff, doesn't draw him using it in any meaningful way* Hi! So this one took a while to complete, but I'm generally pretty happy with how it turned out. Also, doing these animatics has been a cool way to learn a thing or two about editing. Hurray for learning ✨ Anyway, enjoy~ Song: No longer you Epic: The Musical (by Jorge Rivera-Herrans, @JayHerrans)

I am the prophet with the answers you seek Time, I've unlocked it I see past and future running free There is a world Where I help you get home But that's not a world I know What?! I see a song of past romance I see the sacrifice of man I see portrayals of betrayal And a brother's final stand I see you on the brink of death I see you draw your final breath I see a man who gets to make it home alive But it's no longer you

I love Eurylochus’s reaction to Tiresias mentioning betrayal

@KyanCurse

I just realized something...Tiresias technically was right since he can see the past and the future instead of seeing Odysseus getting back home he would see Odysseus disguised as an old man(thanks to athena) returning back home. So he wasn't saying Odysseus was going to die just that quite literally it didn't look like he was the one who made it back to Ithica

@fictional-girl_05

I like how he stood up on the word "stand" nice touch

@iron1icx813

I know this might be a weird thing to mention but I like the details of him having just pitch white eyes no pupils really gives off future telling real good.

@vivithevalkrie

I love the details in how you can't tell who Tiresias is looking at when he tells Odysseus that he sees a man who gets to make it home alive. It makes me think he's looking at Eurylochus. Which would seal his betrayal if he believed it would mean making it home alive

@alcyone5776

The way Tiresias just slowly turns to the camera with that dead yet haunting face at the end was AMAZING. Odysseus is definitely going through it right now

@danyul8578

"I see portrayals of betrayal" and the immediate pan to eurylochus omg

@Zephirite.

There's a palpable TERROR to Odysseus's expressions here that I absolutely adore. And I've yet to see Eurylochus get ANGRY at hearing all this--which fits, as he cares for Odysseus, but is also the brother who betrays him...

@klausoshaunacey8429

I love how with one “what?” Tiresias immediately can glean so much information from Odysseus’s life.

@Various_Flavors_of_Cheese

This shit is amazing! You, my friend, are far too underrated. Every second of this animation is pure art. Congrats, my man

@imafish3215

Absolutely enchanting, the tired sorrow in Tiresias' face, chilling

@kyothena

This is so cool ! I love the part with the stars !!

@phillymarte1371

I adore how it just seems like he's rambling in the beginning before he actually notices them there. I'm not sure if that was on purpose but phenomenal nonetheless. :)

@gardnerstopwatch1916

One word: UNDERRATED THIS IS CINEMATIC AND GORGEOUS I LOVE IT SO MUCH❤❤❤.

@Megafreakx3

I love how he portrays the Odysseus arriving back home as a completely different person, as in reality it's Odysseus but he had completely changed because of war and wasn't the same so they took as a completely different person

@sophaloafbakes

god, this is so good! the expressions, the mouth movements with some of the words, the constellations to portray things, AHHHHHHHH it's so amazing!!

@johnrodriguez5319

I just came across the song today and I'm so happy this animatic exists for it lol. Thank you. I loved it. I really like what you did with the character's expressions.

@dianapire2238

Aaa this is so good! I love the expressions of the characters, especially how haunted Tiresias looks. The design choice of him not having pupils really adds to that otherworldliness, I think. Also, the part in the STARS? jdjdjsjxjsjdjxjsjnd (odypen otp, what can i say) The details in this are immaculate - Eurylochus’ expression when he mentions betrayal truly is something else lmao. And, the slow head turn at the end? Gave me chills. Every time I watch this I notice something new and it’s so cool. Jfjcjsksjsjfn thank you so much for making this my EPIC-loving heart is happy :D

@sershepard

Absolutely in LOVE with the visuals of the constellations and the way Eurylochus reacts to the betrayal part, and his face from that moment on; like he in someway realizes that part involves him. Beautiful work! <3

@amrapendragon1189

Holy shit I got chills
