nd food stamp benefits for Casey Bradshaw $530 were her benefits for each month but she is without her benefits and she's is showered with generosity tonight Santa arrived not in a sleigh but in a 1925 Model T to make a special delivery the Jolly fellow is from the Santa Ministry of Knoxville when the ministry learned that a young mom has been without food stamps for months due to a delay in the state system the volunteers brought Christmas to her and her toddler this is all the cold cold stuff

mmy as a part of our ministry we've had several people provide us with money and several churches and things to buy groceries and gifts and things so we want to do something for this family especially uh in the circumstances that they're in Miss Bradshaw was sent this reminder in October to renew her SNAP benefits Casey mailed her application the last week in October but a benefits card was empty when she used it in early November they said that they're three months behind on paperwork there's n
ot enough employees the state Human Services Department told six on your side last week there has been a temporary increase in processing SNAP benefits the delay caused by new technology the state is using to modernize its eligibility management system the explanation however did not put food on the table I don't have no income I'm waiting on my disability right now because I'm I'm in this kind of shape Casey had an aortic valve replacement in June but the operation went wrong required was major
surgery to remove blood clots in her leg since then her recovery has been slow I can't get a job I've tried everybody oh well you're a hazard and we can't have you here and and before then I was working cleaning houses I can't even do that now you'd like to be able to work yeah absolutely Second Harvest call six on your side when they learned of Casey's situation and we got them in touch with her I would like to help you come buy and get some groceries this is where we'll be and that's what the
