Nothing Matters if You're Fast Enough | MBMBaM Video Clips

Literally no social situation can ever haunt you if you're fast enough to outrun it. From My Brother, My Brother and Me Episode 691: The Sword of Good Grades: https://www.themcelroy.family/2023/12/18/24003182/mbmbam-691-the-sword-of-good-grades"

- "Hi, brothers. I'm a wrestler who needs to run at night to get in good shape." All right. "Now I know this is a little strange to some people," oh me, (chuckles) "because running at night can be scary, but it's the only time I have the motivation to do so," okay. "My problem is that when I run, I wanna appear menacing and unapproachable, but I don't wanna look like a threat. I listen to your podcast while I run. So I'm already laughing running down the street at nine at night." Thank you. "How
can I make my run safely while not freaking people out?" That's from Running Wrestler. - It is not clear there in context whether running down the street at night laughing makes you scarier or more approachable. - Oh, scarier. - [Travis] Oh, okay. - I'll answer that one. I don't actually think the human body is able to laugh and run at the same time. 'Cause I don't think there's ever really been an instance where you needed to do that. - [Justin] Biologically. - Biologically. - You wanna be una
pproached. Unapproachable while you're running towards someone. 'Cause once you're past them, they're not gonna catch you. And then once you're past, you want them to be like, "Oh, I'm not afraid "of them anymore." - Yeah. - So you're gonna have to wear a two-sided outfit. You want something menacing on the front, but gentle on the back. - I was gonna say, being running is about the most unapproachable that you can be. - Yeah. - Because you can change the distance of you and the person with the
act of the running that you're doing. - So you want to be menacing to bad people, but you wanna be reassuring to good people. You need a Batman costume, my friend. - Yeah, a Batman costume. - And it's great 'cause then it's also gonna help you sweat off some of that water weight (chuckles) in that Batman costume. If you're wrestling, you gotta hit your weight class. - Sure. - Batman is a natural like sweatsuit. - Sure, sure. That's always been my experience. - To be fair though, they don't in a
lot of Batman movies just show him jogging down the street. (laughs) "The Joker's here, I gotta go." [Panting] - Hey. I'm gonna go ahead and go contrary to your point, Trav. I don't necessarily want Batman in my neighborhood. How's that? - Oh, that's fair. - Yeah. - This is a nice neighborhood. I don't need Batman hassling everybody in my neighborhood. - The other thing that I can't stop thinking about with this question is none of this stuff matters if you are fast enough. - That's true. - Whoa
. - It doesn't matter how approachable or unapproachable or menacing or not scary you might be. - It could almost be a motivator. Like oh this is awkward right now. I gotta get past this scenario. - I gotta get the fuck outta here. - There are so many times I wanna run from awkward situations and you can. - If you're moving so fast that by the time my brain even clocks like, "Am I intimidated by this person?" You're gone? - Yeah. - Now it's just like, what was that? - No. Okay but if I'm on the
sidewalk and they're on the sidewalk and I see someone see me and then they're like full tilt boogie like hauling, I'm done. - But you don't understand, Justin. Even that's not an issue if you're fast enough. There's so much... I'm realizing only just now how much I wish I was fast. Because if you're fast enough- - Fuck, the Flash costume. The Flash. Why did I go with Batman? Why did I go with Batman? - I don't know. That doesn't make any sense. - The Flash is a fast running man. The Flash. - Go
d damn it! - If you're fast enough- - The Flash was right there. - You can't even be... - [Travis] God damn it! [Justin Laughing] The Flash, why? Batman isn't known for running. Fuck! Fuck! Batman, fuck! [Laughing] God damn it! The Flash, it was right there. [wheezing, laughing] - If you saw the Flash- - I'm sorry, guys. - At normal man speeds, It would be the biggest fuckin' red flag on the planet. [Laughing] Because someone has a ray somewhere. Someone's got a gem or something. - Yeah. - That'
s fuckin' this dude up and I don't want any part of it. - Yeah. - I don't wanna see the Flash jogging. What's happened to him? - Yeah, he's sick. [Travis laughs] - You want your picture little girl? No, you're not the real Flash. - No! - You're pulling down 15 MPH max. - God, I wish I was fuckin' fast.

“He’s sick :(“ really got me :’D!

The map on Travis' wall is the failed Cincinnati "MetroMoves" train plans. It was proposed to be completed by 2031, but the public voted down the measures to fund the network in 2002. Just in case anyone else compulsively tries to identify every single metro on sight...

@variousdinosaurs

The moment Griffin gives up/gives in is gold. (3:09)

@TheLlamaHugger

Literally any time one of the brothers walks away from the mic for a bit, it’s hysterical to me!

@sylph8005

Griffin wishing he was fast just reminds me of The Ballad of Bigfoot

@BrotherlyBear

i think about this but literally all the time because i listen to this show almost exclusively at the gym. and this bit came on when i was on the treadmill and i laughed out loud on it and felt so ashamed that i had proved griffin wrong immediately

@herculesrockafeller

Can we talk about how Travis’s studio looks like a great place to chill

@brentjohnson4212

I love how both Grif and Justin cracked at EXACTLY the same moment in completely different ways

@uuu1797

A lot about this is solid Travis being angry with himself and off camera yelling being the star of the show, but my absolute favorite "niche bit" is when the brother's don't miss a single beat with yes, and-ing each other. Justin's hot take about not wanting Batman in his neighborhood and Trav and Griffin immediately coming to that same agreement is peak humor to me. My favorite intro is The One In Which Justin Kills Sonic. Justin suddenly slips into a Sonic the Hedgehog impression and his brothers, bless them, go "Hey S-dawg", "hey what's up Sonic" WITHOUT MISSING A BEAT. I love it so much.

@caperclaw

BATMAN ISN'T KNOWN FOR RUNNING

@dominiclohry1782

I am SO HAPPY this got a video clip, I was hoping so hard!!

@rupierce

I actually wept I was laughing so hard when I first heard this on the podcast. I just shed a couple tears again getting to watch it, thank you

@11rockabilia11

Question for the boys: Has the transition to recording on-camera changed how much effort is being put into the lewks? Are there pre-recording grooming routines now? Frantic office tidying?

@fastnacht2

Can we get a video of the brothers each trying to make this advice work in the real world?

@theirnameiscole

Travis, Trav Nation loves you so much, thank you for being the emotional cathartic release we all needed 🙌

@moonbasket

I am obsessed with the cuts to Travis's empty chair. So funny. Amazing editing. 10/10😂

@artsypanda2435

For me, it’s when Griffin gets real aggravated but then can’t help but laugh along. Like “God dammit Travis you’re so fucking annoying.” To, “Fuck that’s funny.”

@Spectrarian

I know they're not going to do full episodes like this i KNOW IT but truly i adore being able to see their hand motions and facial expressions during these bits its GOLD

@Crabble__

Travis' dedication to a bit is just fantastic.

@DerpyShoes

The "Oh fuck the Flash" into "At Normal Human speeds?" is probably the greatest one-two punchline on MBMBAM ever. Justin gives Travis all the time he needs for his bit, and then just fucking nails it.
