The Church is not condemning the person but the filthy language used in the service. They have no right to come into the church and speak at the pulpit like they are in a bar. They want respect but showed no respect for our place of worship. Shame on them.

@diamondjoemazing

If you're anti-religious and anti-catholic...why set up a funeral at a Cathedral at all? These people hate the Church, but love how pretty and photogenic it is. THERE'S the hypocrisy.

@charlestruth1354

Disrespect for religion is what they want.

@stevewitte2501

Is it time to start flipping tables yet?

@patrickodonnell4109

Cardinal Dolan needs to make a very public apology from his pulpit with all media present. Hiding behind website statements is cowardly. This sacrilege happened on his watch. Period.

@joeschmo622

I'm not religious, but that's like having a service for Hilter at a synagogue. Disrespectful beyond words...

@anthonytan7134

You can celebrate anything, no problem....BUT not at the Cathedral please

@abcxyz2927

Again he’s Father Enrique Salvo NOT a Rev or a Pastor.. But the question still remains..how did he not know who it was having a service in the Cathedral

@mmjhcb

How about the priest who officiated sitting calmly by with the foul language, inappropriate dress, and TOTAL disrespect and blasphemy on full display? Where was Cardinal Dolan? On TV somewhere explaining Lent?

@thegreyghost4191

Hopefully the church opts to do their homework next time. They should have never allowed this funeral to be conducted there. At St Patricks I would have thought they wouldve, but I guess not.

@joexavier4070

This is a place of workship plz keep like this

@bklyndouchebag

Cardinal Dolan has been noticeably silent.

@BlimpCityFeeder

Reminds me of the Williamsburg church last year that rented out the property, until seeing the racy music video that was filmed inside. Pope Francis opened this Pandora’s box for the NY Archdiocese.

It is wrong to judge someone of their beliefs. I would not say mean things to someone who was in the lgbtq alphabet community. Why is it OK for them to mock Jesus in our church. Since Jesus Christ founded the Catholic Church, we have helped millions regardless of race, gender or belief. Through many diseases, viruses (aids epidemic included) we have fed the hungary, clothed the poor, nurtured, sheltered the unwanted and unloved. We respect life at all costs. Now we are being mocked and worst of all in front of all that is holy. If you are gay or Trans don't degrade our faith it is our freedom just like your right to be part of the alphabet is. That Trans person was an atheist and is a direct bashing on our faith. I do not have the power to judge you. One day, we will all be judged by our creator. Oh, my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended thee; and I detest all my sins because they offend you, my God, who are all good and deserving of all my love. Let's all agree to disagree and stop creating more hate. Respect our space and freedoms to be different.

I watched the mockery of the funeral on a trans channel it was shocking. I don’t understand how any of the many people in charge especially the Priest didn’t pull the plug on it and shut it down. All they had to do was take a look at the photos and pictures of her being depicted as a saint ! if they were really tricked, all they had to do was look her name up as I saw these crazy people coming in dressed up in evening gowns and clown make up and they would’ve found out who this MAN person was! Heads need to roll even fraud charges to whoever said he was a practicing Catholic!

My thoughts: 1. How much did the clergy and staff at St. Patrick’s know? Let’s not make guesses or voice opinions because probably no one really knows unless they were involved in the funeral planning. From what I have read, someone requested a catholic funeral liturgy to be done for her and the Cathedral honored that request. How that turned into what happened is where the questions start because there have also been some reports that this might have been a planned event by family/friends to take a catholic funeral liturgy and make it something else. 2. Did the Cathedral and/or any of the clergy, staff, crew, or 3rd party contractors at the Cathedral sign any type of agreement or accept payment for their services. If there is an agreement or money that was paid out, then the Cathedral might be legally bound to allow the funeral to take place. This is especially true in the matter that the majority of churches charge for funerals and/or require that anyone working that funeral to either be paid by the church or by honorariums. If this is the case, legally the cathedral might not have a choice but do the funeral. 3. I am a former catholic that left after some disagreements and bad experiences but at the new church I attend, I am often involved in assisting with funerals and I can tell you that often the Pastors are given very little information by the funeral home. In some cases, Pastors are lucky if they are asked what days the best for them are to conduct the funeral. So, it’s possible the funeral home only handled the body and details while the family dealt with planning and preparing the contents of the funeral service.

And this was held the 1st week of Lent?! It's awful and so sad. I'll pray for the deceased's soul and all those that came there for evil reasons. 🙏 Perhaps just one soul may stop turning their back on our Lord's gracious call. 🙏
