Olympic Volleyball Player Reacts to Haikyuu!! S4E16: "Broken Heart"

[Music] foreign welcome back to my channel I'm Sarah pavin an Olympian and beach volleyball world champion and a long time professional indoor player are you reading my mind I think we're on the same page um this match is intense it is amazing it is everything we all hoped for at least is everything I hoped for we got a little bit more into the volleyball nitty-gritty last episode like I wanted excellent um we saw a few things happening um we had Hinata do the like blend into the crowd attack Ke

nosha got in to serve um Yamaguchi got into serve which ended on a real Cliffhanger because he had just gotten an ace I believe in his last serve and he was about to serve again um it is right at the end of the first set so this is huge um we had oh yes Hinata commit blocking on Osamu and approaching just full out commit on that um a lot of back and forth the national team coaches are there it is ah everything it's everything will this episode last the rest of the season or like are we going to

see more than this because this this is getting intense so we I we are obviously going to finish set one today I'm assuming we're gonna dive into set two um but I don't know okay I'm just gonna be carried along with this wave of emotion and excitement and wherever it decides to take me I'm gonna go with it so right now I'm just praying that Yamaguchi does a great job on his serve um okay so let's get started today we're watching season 4 episode 16 of haikyuu called broken heart I'm not going to

read into the title I know I've gotten into this thing where I really like over analyze the titles and try to decipher what they mean I'm not even gonna touch this one just gonna leave it alone so without any further Ado let's check out broken heart episode 16 right now foreign [Music] are we remembering the konoka Tanaka romance that's budding here [Music] okay I was completely thrown off by that I expected to see Yamaguchi serve okay as if we could even forget okay that konoka is there trying

to like get with Tanaka how good we did not forget that but thank you for the reminder hi um foreign [Music] oh my gosh an angel [Music] [Music] okay okay oh my gosh and then he shaved his head and he was a different man [Applause] yeah people won't forget that okay what happened to his hair okay I know I said this before he looks like Mad Dog why did he change his hair was it for Kyoko no I'm probably reading into that he went from looking like mad dog to looking like Yamamoto it's true also I

'm seeing I think I think I'm understanding here he only has eyes for Kyoko and he doesn't want to like hurt her feelings here I am analyzing the title again broken heart yes it's making sense that's really sad because I really like canoka but I also you know I think Kyoko is a goddess so there's really no competition that's tough I've basically decided what has happened um I probably didn't foreign he is a sweetie pie oh my gosh that was perfect [Applause] okay let's focus [Applause] okay that

was the one before okay [Applause] huh okay I just need to take a quick breather here to switch gears I was not ready I was not I came into this episode expecting intensity Yamaguchi serve immediately and so like the kind of love subplot really threw me for a loop and then I got really invested in that for a sec so I just needed to like talk about it to like refocus and regroup for this game because I need all the intensity back I think it's back if you can tell I kind of was talking a little so

for it with him um because he reaches so high and he's we can't go back in time I'm just just percolating on this but that play that kagayama ran outside the court and brought it back I love that Asahi took charge of that he would not have done that in season one am I right he was a little more timid on the court a little more unsure of himself so I love that he just went forward and like almost pushed noi out of the way like that is the behavior that we need from him Tanaka is going to execute

n't handle this I have full body chills [Music] okay I have some thoughts the nature of Tanaka's position he is not like in the Ace position so he's not necessarily he is not the main point scorer um he is there to be an all-around player and I can definitely understand his feelings about I haven't done anything today um and the doubts that are creeping in but he is serving a bigger role than he knows not only skill wise but just like who he is and the energy he brings and by continuing to push

which he needs to do he cannot let up one of these balls will fall for him and I don't care if I was on that court I would have called a challenge because I am 100 convinced that that ball hit the line I do not care what anybody has to say that was it that line judge needs to be fired whatever he is being persistent he's going for everything he's not letting the ball drop neuya made a great pass it's not that he doesn't trust him but no that is noise job so of course if he can take a pass he's G

onna Take It again I do understand what Tanaka is going through but he needs to stick with it because the moment he lets up and the moment he shows any doubt the rest of the team will feel it so were good he is going he will score the final point in this set I believe it [Music] is [Applause] suga's like I'm terrified foreign foreign foreign [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] oh my sort of Non-Stop oh yeah oh my gosh [Applause] I'm so happy they're not pushovers they're nice guys sure and it probab

t he needed oh Hinata he is so genuine and he just like he no he doesn't I don't even know if I would go so far to say he knows exactly what to say he's just so genuine and just says whatever's on his mind and it's just like he's a such an encouraging presence and an encouraging person that like it just happens to be the right thing and like Tanaka needed that and I cannot fault tsukushima's decision with that set Asahi is the Ace for a reason he the nature of that role is to have to find a way

to score those exact balls so a hundred percent I do not fault super Shimmer for that the thing that I do love is how confident Tanaka was and how badly he wanted the ball because we saw the flashback from a previous match where he didn't want the ball because he was scared but like that growth in him as an athlete and to like have that confidence and to not want to make that mistake again and just to like despite things that may not be going his way exactly at this moment to keep showing up and

all let's see yeah buddy whoa that was unexpected have I cried this much in a high Q episode ever I think it's fair to say no I think the only anime episode that Rivals this so far is episode 14 from one run with the wind I think I gasped and almost hyperventilated so um oh my gosh I probably got copyrighted so hard for music at some point but I just could not stop playing it like I just needed to let it play out and just really soak in what was happening and soak in the emotions and oh my I I'm

honestly speechless the Hinata's like encouraging comment about him being up on the Block is what gave him a little extra boost and a little extra power to get up on the Block against Osamu um which perfect because he thought he had basically a one-on-one situation which The Hitter always has a huge advantage but then to come back after that you you work your butt off to get your hands in the in the guy's face um when you already feel like you're not doing anything and then to come back and sho

w up yet again after you if things have not been going your way you just made a mistake like you're kind of doubting yourself the crowd is kind of doubting you probably but you show up again and you call for the ball again and you want it like that hit me so hard I like that is a true athlete right there [Music] and just the authority and the confidence with which he hit that last ball like I wanted that for him so badly like obviously for kirasuno as a whole but for him and just like foreign to

help his you know self-image and his identity even as to what his role is on the team and is he even doing anything yes Tanaka you do so much like you you're right he's not the star at any particular skill but he's steady and he just has this presence and this energy that you just can't replace and it's so unique and special and is this a love letter to Tanaka right now I think it is bring the man into the love house okay because man and then that final scene with like everybody was so excited

and then tsukushima was like nice kill like just very typical loved that and then that final scene with konoka oh you guys I don't know what I expected from this episode but the feelings and the emotions that were brought up in this are Indescribable like wow I'm gonna have tear stains on my face after this they won the first set okay I amazing and they didn't falter they did not falter they had so many chances and it's so easy to get dejected when you keep giving up chance after chance after ch
