29th February 2024, today we'll check out from our resort at Bagan after breakfast for Mandalay. You all know that I dont miss a chance to explore new thing. But today my voice is completely choked due to Burmese Cigar. Due to that sometime I sound good and sometime complete crap. Burmese delicacy and fish soup Mohinga were in breakfast menu. Mohinga means fish soup. And it should be accompanied with rice noodles. Mohinga Fish soup and rice noodles. Mix and eat. Can be accompanied with boiled eg
g, lemon and coriander. We started for Mandalay after breakfast. Distance is 179 km. And it will take 4.30 to 5 hrs. Bagan was excellent. We'll visit a small village near Bagan. It has similarity with villages of North-East India. Name of this village is Min Nan Thu from 13th century. But quite prosperous. Village people has big cars. Most of the huts has leaf roofs. Farming is main occupation. Mainly peanuts, sesame and sugar cane are cultivated here. Peanuts. Edible oil is extracted here from
peanuts. This is oil extractor and bull is fitted with it. Bull walks around this and peanut oil is extracted. Again traditional Burmese Cigar. Home made.. Cover is made from corn leave. Toddy palm tree. It is mixed to tobacco. Mixed with toddy palm tree. Wood is finely chopped and mixed with tobacco. This is the ingredient of Burmese Cigar. Cigar is of 2 types light or strong. Based on that filling is used. Traditional ashtray. There is a picture will show you.. It is used in this way. We are n
ot promoting smoking. It is injurious to health. As we are explorer so it is our duty to show everything in details to you. Jaggery is dried here to make pickles. Different clothes are made from this cotton. This is another occupation. Similar like our Charkha.. Threads are made from cotton using this Charkha and then finished products are made. Let's see the kitchen. Still they use wood for fire. Dining table Thanka paste is made by this. Thanks paste is made after little water is sprinkled.. T
hen it is applied on face. Traditional hat of Myanmar. Everyone use this. Cattle foods are chopped here. Charkha.. Same as our village road. She took us for village tour. We saw school, ponds etc. Aloe vera. Chicken farm. Good experience in exploring this rural village. Houses are made from bamboo sticks. Village library. Amazing.. Mostly libraries are close around the towns or cities we live. But I am amazed to see library in such a small village. She is wearing wooden slipper. Strap is made of
either rubber or skin. Base is made from wood. Village pond. Carrying water Doesn't seem to be clean water. This is the source of water for the whole village. Cool breeze. Sides are well maintained. I guessed right..made of wood. Primary school Cafe is present here. Local coffee shop, restaurant. Our driver and guide are drinking tea here. Tea stall. Peanuts are served everywhere. Plenty of it is available here. We have shown you village of Srilanka.. This is village of Myanmar. We'll share suc
h more experiences with you. We are doing this trip with STIC Travel group. STIC Travel group is conducting domestic and international tours in India for last 50 years. You can contact with STIC Travel group for Myanmar, Srilanka or any other tour packages. I'll share al details in description box. They will arrange everything neatly for you. We are having extra ordinary experience in this tour. Everything is well organized, we don't need to bother. We sincerely thank STIC Travel group for spons
oring our Myanmar tour. Green tea tastes same everywhere. What do you mean? It tastes different in India? Yes it is different for different brands. But it is same throughout here. This is roasted and salted peanut. Homemade. This is excellent taste. They didn't charge anything for the tea and peanuts. Guide asked us to buy some thing instead. I purchased this for 1500 Kyat. Now the time is 11.55 am and we started from the village. It will take another 5 hrs to reach Mandalay. We'll first see a B
uddha statue. Followed by lunch and checkin in hotel We saw harsh nature on the way to Mandalay. Mandalay is the second important city after Yangoon in Myanmar. Established in 1857. During revolt of soldiers in India. Established by king Mindon. And the city is named after him Mandalay. We went straight to see Buddha statue. Now the time is 2 pm and we reached Mandalay. Golden Buddha statue is excellent here. This is brought from Arakans province. As per mythology, this is built when Buddha was
alive. During the time Buddha visited Arakan. But there is no historical proof to it. We came to Indian Tadka restaurant of Mandalay. We ordered fish tikka and mutton biryani. Excellent Fish tikka was excellent but mutton biryani was poor. This is not at all Biryani. Now the time is 4 pm and we reached our hotel. After checkin we'll go for local sight seeing. We'll return after sunset. Hotel Yadanarbon was our hotel at Mandalay. This is average compared to Amatha Garden resort. It was not so lux
urious. These are all paid. We started again after checkin. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was kept inside a jail here by British Government. for 3 years from 1925. It is not open to tourists. Royal palace built by king Mindon. It's a square structure. Area is 1.2 square km. Military generals and personnels stay inside, and it is not open to public. Once this monastery was part of the palace. At the time of king Mandon. After his death, his son king Thibaw donated this to monks. It is physically li
fted and shifted to this place. This is now a monastery. You can see beautiful sculpture of Burma teak here. We can see the original structure of the monastery. During The World War II, Japanese attacked Burma. Japanese attacked Mandalay royal enclave with bombs. Everything there were destroyed due to bombing. Only this is saved because it was shifted here before the incident. Luckily it was donated before the war and we can see it. Otherwise we couldn't have seen the original structure. What a
fine design on wood !! Now we are going to see the largest book of world built during King Mandon. Statue of King Mandon. Kuthodaw monastery.. Unesco declared the book of 729 slabs here as the largest book of world in 2013. You can see 729 such small white temples around the compound. Each temple has a marble slate inside. Teaching of Gautam Buddha is written in each slate. All teachings are documented here in 729 temples. It is kept inside the temples to protect them from any damage by rain or
sunlight etc. It is told that 33 elephants carried those here. And the very first elephant of the lot was white. Nice place. We'll see the stupa also. Each temple is numbered here. And each of them looks same. We are going to the top of Mandalay hill to view sunset. There is another pagoda at the top and you can see the sunset from there. You have to take elevator to reach the pagoda. Ticket price 3000 Kyat per person. Nice view.. Irrawati river Comment us the name of this tree.. Statue of these
2 snakes.. It is told that when King Mandon was making this temple on the hill top.. These 2 snakes crawled up the hill to show respect to Gautam Buddha. But local people believe that.. they were the relative of King Mandon in previous life. This is Shan mountain range... Sun is setting.. Mandalay city.. Irrawati river.. Sun is setting with its last ray of hope to another half of the world.. End of a nice day and also end of this video.. Will return shortly with next episode. Stay tuned. I am S
