Please subscribe to our channel! https://www.youtube.com/@ExploreOitaJapan/featured Spring is the time for light-pink cherry blossoms, and in 2024, the famous hot spring town of Beppu will celebrate its 100th anniversary as a municipality. You can enjoy cherry blossoms all throughout the area together with high-quality hot springs, and there are also loads of special anniversary events planned. Families heading to Japan will also love the kids’ activities during Japan’s Golden Week holiday period. Japan’s rainy season is adorned by beautiful hydrangeas. The humid weather in early summer also makes it a good time for indoor activities like visiting museums and bathing in hot springs. The magnificent mountains and coasts of Oita also offer an escape from the summer heat with camping, water sports, and more. Summer is likewise filled with fireworks and local festivals, bringing joy to each of Oita’s cities. Autumn is the harvest season in Japan, so visitors can treat themselves to the best of Oita’s gourmet cuisine. You can chow down on fruit at its freshest by picking it at farms, relish meals made with seasonal specialties, and discover a bounty of other Oita culinary gems! Plus, the stunning autumn foliage, which dyes the forests of Oita’s rural villages in splendid colors, is worth visiting for alone, and it’s a great time for outdoor activities, too. There are lots of events to join during “shogatsu,” Japan’s largest holiday period that runs between Christmas and New Year’s week. Ski resorts are open, Christmas fireworks and year-end events are held, and shrine visits are a must, making it a very busy but fun-filled time to be in Oita! Of course, winter is also the best period to fully appreciate Oita’s hot springs. So, how did you like Explore Oita Japan Season 4? Explore Oita Japan!! Here, we've reached the end of Explore Oita Japan Season 4 We hope you've had a lot of fun and also learned a lot of new information for your next trip to Oita Prefecture Until we meet next time here's our recommendation for your next adventure in Oita Prefecture month by month If you plan to visit Oita Prefecture in April then you have to check out the Beppu Hatto Onsen Festival The festival is usually held in the first week of April and as Beppu is the top hot spring city
in Japan attending this festival means you will be soaking wet with hot spring water Late March and early April are also the famous cherry blossom season And there are several stunning locations across Oita Prefecture where you can see the beautiful pink blossoms During May, the weather will be very nice here in Oita It is the perfect time to go outside for hiking or cycling in the vibrant spring foliage There are two areas that we would like to recommend The Kunisaki Peninsula and the Aso-
Kuju National Park In the beginning of May Japan has a 1-week long holiday called Golden Week If you have kids you can't miss joining the event for children, especially at theme parks June is the rainy season here in Oita so make sure you pack an umbrella to see gorgeous iris and hydrangea flower field and dazzling fireflies experiences or take your adventure indoors and see one of the many beautiful museums in the area such as the Oita Prefectural Art Museum in Oita City or the various Attack o
n Titan exhibitions in Hita City July in Japan is summer and it's hot but it's the best timing to do water activities like canyoning and going to the beach Oita has an abundance of clear water streams and waterfalls which are perfect hideaways from the summer heat The beaches in Oita are mostly calm suitable for relaxing explorations such as SUPs and kayaking If you're into traditional festivals and fireworks you should come to Oita in late July and August There are plenty of summer festivals
for you to enjoy Among those, Hita Gion Festival in Hita City is one of the most extravagant Gion festivals in Oita Prefecture Also, Oita Tanabata Festival is a not-to-be-missed festival for everyone to enjoy If you love nature come to Oita in September and enjoy farming activities such as grape picking and pear picking as well as outdoor adventures such as paragliding, camping and hiking And of course, don't forget the outdoor shows by DRUM TAO at Tao no Oka October is the culinary season in
Japan which means food, more food, more delicious food My personal favorite would be the Karaage Festival where over 60 different specialist shops and restaurants showcase their expertise Late October to early November is also the peak time for autumn foliage in Oita November also features bamboo lantern Festival in many temples and old districts across the prefecture During December and January there are a lot of events worth braving the cold for like the Beppu Christmas Fantasy Fireworks and
New Year’s celebrations at shrines and temples across the prefecture Also as Oita will be in mid-winter make sure to try skiing at Kuju and beat the cold with the soak in one of Oita's abundant hot springs If you love traditional Japanese crafts you should come to Oita in February where you'll see massive displays of Hina dolls throughout Oita Prefecture Did you know that in February cherry blossoms also bloom? We have the Kawazu-zakura cherry trees which bloom in late February And following
that comes the Somei Yoshino cherry trees which bloom in late March Those are actually the trees that Japan is really famous for That's it for this season We hope you found the best time to visit Oita Prefecture Thank you so much for liking subscribing and viewing our videos See you soon! My favorite festivals in Oita are the Usuki stone buddha fire festival in late August and the Taketa bamboo lantern festival in November. So pretty!
