One thing I don't get about this episode: Scootaloo is made out to be a terrible singer, but she can sing just fine in other episodes.
The "game" they were playing was a psychic ability test. Sweetiebelle and Scoots would turn over a card and then Applebloom had to guess it without seeing it. She got it wrong every time though.

1:03 That game makes prefect sense. Its a mechanical version of Zener cards, a simple card based experiment devised to try and determine if an individual has ESP. The idea is that they have a series of possible images which can be on a card at any given time, mathematically they will have to guess a certain amount by pure luck, so if they guess significantly more then that limit in multiple different tests it would suggest they had some way of knowing what was on the card you randomly drew from the deck. Now why they chose to put in a reference to Zener cards of all things is weird because Hasbro has never made any... Though they would sell pretty well. "Hey kids do you know you might be a telepath? That actually wasn't a board game, it's a test for psychic abilities. If the subject does indeed have psychic powers, they are supposed to be able to see what card the testers are holding and then press the corresponding button. Just think of that scene in Star Wars Episode 1 where Anakin is getting tested by the council, it's basically the same thing.
