of this event it's only a few weeks away you excited looking forward to it oh yeah I'm very excited I'm um I know it's the biggest test I ever had my in my boxing career and I'm taking getting ready and getting very anxious ready to step in there and show the world what I'm about yeah man and you've been doing it obviously for several years here in the Quad Cities they're your fan favorites so to speak out here you know being in Davenport here with pain yes boxing club and you know just a lot of
stuff here undefeated in your boxing career walk us through just the past several months what it's been like I know we had you haven't been on the show since you know probably mid of last year walk us through what's happened since then well I'm I'm kidding no now I want two more fights I believe since the last time I was on here I got two more coaches I got I'm working with Jeff Perez from alleycat Moline and also Steve Vander Waal II two very very experienced coaches that I'm very confident wi
th them being on my team I've been just training hard and just mainly working on my technique and trying to get my bad habits out to out the wet hand work on work on my new it's hard to imagine you have bad habits me you're undefeated but hey there you got me and that's the mentality of a champion right there and you're continuing to move forward what's what's been like as the fights go on and you continue to win is it is it a lot more pressure each time for you to keep that you know zero in tha
t loss column absolutely I mean it's something personally that I want to keep on going you know but everybody tells me like my fans play well there's gonna be a day you know lose man we're still gonna be behind you but I don't want that day to happen anytime soon as far as I'm concerned I hope they don't ever have it sure for sure well a many are touting this upcoming event as the biggest boxing event in the Quad Cities in several decades saying at least 20 years how big is this event and how gr
eat is it for the Quad City boxing community and just everyone that's obviously going to rally around it man it's huge Jesse Gomes and Clint Calkins did a really good job promoting this I mean they doing a wonderful job getting it ready I mean they couldn't find a better venue everyone sitting now I'm excited I think if I was a fan I mean when I when I get home I'm gonna want to watch it right so it's like I'm gonna watch it as a fan sit down to eat my popcorn either way but I mean it's it's hug
e being part of it I'm just he I'm uh I like being part of history and I know it's gonna be history and I know somewhere somewhere down line my kids you know you know and be like well he worked hard for this fight you know he worked hard for all these fights to do what he's doing and hopefully he'll be proud of me so I'm excited yeah I think a lot of people are excited for this one just a few weeks away as you mentioned February 2nd at Rhythm City Casino and Resort we mentioned your opponent Roc
k Island native limb birth pone say you mentioned this might be your biggest test in your boxing career here he's 16 and 13 in career fights 3 there are 16 and 3 I'm sorry 16 and 3 my apologies there and Ted knockouts in that one so what do you know about him what do you know about his style and you know just getting ready for this fight I'm sure you're preparing for anything he'll throw it yet well at least be sparring partners and always be your teammates and everything you know we we did a lo
t of small rounds together and I know he brings it I know he's gonna be ready and I just know I gotta be the best time to take my life and be oh I know I know his little tricks I'm getting no I'm actually Jeff Perez is one of his first boxing coaches so I got him on my team for a reason that always helps right for sure getting it getting some inside info that always helps you know hey talking about as you get ready for this fight you've certainly fought in a lot of different weight classes espec
ially over the past couple of years you've gone up and down how has that versatility helped you throughout this process I'm sure that you've seen some different approaches work just based on those different weight classes yeah I mean I fought fast ones I fought hard hitter ones I thought tall ones you know my last fight yeah Eddie the guy I thought was a really hard hitter and he and actually blown my eardrum and you know I take the hit yeah smokes so I mean I'm usually I get hit hard but hard h
itters and I could take the fast ones too so I mean now limbo is more of a fast fighter so I'm getting prepared for that how has the training been this time around I know that there's always tweaks here and there throughout your training process you mentioned conditionings the the biggest aspect of things just walk us through kind of what trainings been like this time around for you well it's been I mean it's been great I mean I'm in doing real early in the morning and then back again at night I
work out with my kids a lot my my Boxing Club members we do a lot of different workouts together so they're actually my partners my sponsor my training partners and I I've been doing a lot of different stuff but I've been working on like I said my my bad my bad habits and I mean every training camp I take it hard I worked out hard but this time it's hard because I had the holidays kind of mixed up in there sure yeah but other than that I'm just normal training camp I mean I'm working real hard
I'm taking a little close attention to how I train and everything else like that but I'm always worked hard for my training for my fights what do you do in your free time man I mean you're running this club obviously you've got your normal work day and then on top of it you're training for fights how do you make this all work what was free time I never today I just been telling my babies I just let my babies is gonna be with them all the time I get a chance to I feel bad for them that I take tim
e away for this training all the time for training then again I know in the long run and I make up for it so yeah I'm gonna take it out on my opponent on February 2nd there you go February 2nd Rhythm City Casino and Resort get ready for that Iowa State junior middleweight championship bout against limp earth pone say from Rock Island so should be a great one we're looking forward to it but stay tuned more with stunning Steven Edwards will talk about stunning boxing club and all that's been going
