Peter Dinklage Reacts to People Having Tattoos of His Game of Thrones Character

-We're back with Peter Dinklage. You mentioned your early days of a theatre company that never put on any shows. -Mm-hmm. -But then you met with some success. And again, you've been here forever. Like, I've been here for a long time now. Do you feel nostalgic about a city you still live in? -Yeah, I mean, it's funny because everybody feels like, "Well, back in the day." But kids nowadays are gonna have a nostalgia for now, and it's gonna just keep repeating itself in a lovely way. Um, yeah, I do

miss the struggle. I do miss people without cellphones. I don't know how we ever convened at night, how we ever found each other. -But we did. -How anybody ever romantically linked up back in the day 'cause it wasn't this -- it was whatever. I remember my friend who was very social outside of bars, 'cause that's what you do in New York, you go to bars, and back then, I don't know. And he had always had like a big bag of quarters for the payphone outside 'cause he wanted to make sure everybody k

new where we were. And then he would go and we would hang out, and then he'd go back to the payphone, check his messages, and put more quarters in like, "We're all gonna go to this place." That was the only way to connect, you know? -It's so funny to tell your kids like, "We didn't have cell phones, we just walked around with big bags of quarters." -"Big bags of quarters. With, like, a money sign on it. -[ Laughter ] It was like a cartoon." -Yeah. And, oh, and we shouldn't have done that. -"I wa

And you feel like you're skin is being scooped out at moments. Um, why -- At the end of that, why would you have me? It's, like, you know -- It's, like -- It's just like a bad relati

onship. It starts off painful and then you're stuck with me. For the rest of your life. -[ Laughter ] -Um, that's not -- That's not a good way to enter into our relationship. -So if somebody came up to you, let's say, at a bar and was like, "Hey, look, I got that." Would that be somebody you'd want to hang out? I would run. I would run. -Yeah, yeah, yeah. -That's the right move.
