hi everyone welcome back to my channel this
is nona from thealignedlover.com i have yet another video on yet another romantic looking
at a different kind of style again the main point that i want to hone in on with this video
series is that you can choose and dress any way you want using any styles you like you
just have to make sure that you're accommodating your unique frame and your unique proportions
your flesh your curves or your lack of curves even within one body id or body type ther
e
is so much variation so today we are looking at the more bright and dynamic style of amelia
clark if you've ever watched any of her videos you'll easily and quickly see that she's very
bubbly very cheerful very playful and very fun so that shows through her best outfits at least in
my opinion just for a little bit of context amelia is rather petite she has rather narrow shoulders
very delicate frame she's a different kind of romantic than say a taller and more softly wide
version like be
yonce or drew barrymore they have more pronounced curves so let's get into some
of the different ways that she brings bright and dynamic style to her wardrobe in a way that really
honors her frame all right so this video is going to be a little bit different than the other videos
instead of recommending you different products or ways to get a certain look i really want to
explore different nuances of some seemingly similar foundation outfits so that we can get into
the nitty-gritty of what
really accommodates the kind of body that amelia has super helpful if you
have some of the same features that she also has obviously these are two very similarly
colored dresses with the vibes are super different first and foremost we have to look
at the neckline usually what you see first is someone's face and whatever surrounds
their face including their hair really important to note throughout this video
i will be talking about hair and how much it is either exposing or hiding the
neck
the neck and the shoulders are very important especially if you have a rather narrow
petite frame and you have narrow sloping shoulders very very easy to completely hide this aspect of
your body which can cause the rest of your outfit to really drag you down look heavier and you won't
look as defined so this is important if you're a fan of the medium medium short medium long bob
cut because it does fall within this region right here where the neck meets the shoulder so
be really careful if
you have this style make sure that you're not hiding your neck
maybe you can put your hair behind your ear or curl it away from your neck especially when
we're talking about these certain necklines so on the left over here we have a very
geometric thick neckline it's very overwhelming on her small narrow sloped shoulders it's very
separate because she doesn't have much angularity or width to her body so putting these wide
angular straps is a little too much contrast here we have a delicate
plunging neckline that just
follows her body and again her nose or sorry her her neck and her shoulders her collarbone and
her chest are exposed so therefore they are quite defined here with this dress we have a very stiff
geometric fabric it imposes structure onto her and it performs in a rather boxy way whereas this
is a more shimmering draping fluid fabric that follows the body's curves here
we have a sort of fit and flare waist definition so instead of really staying
true to the accura
te waist we're imposing like a pseudo waist where it gets narrower but
here you can see with the shape of the stress it's rather straight throughout the torso and
it just kind of widens and flares not super accommodating and not super flattering for such
a petite soft frame here the waist definition follows the body quite closely it looks very
organic it doesn't look forced it doesn't look imposed here we have some large pleats large
plates are not bad but when combined with a rather boxy f
it and flare they can
be a little overwhelming and a little distracting here we have more soft fluid pleats
and it really works with the rest of the dress so i hope that you are taking into consideration
the nature of the neckline the nature of the fabric how it drapes over the body because it
will either hide your body or enhance your body and i think both of these looks are quite fun
they're they're more bold in color they're upbeat and they're fresh and this just
happens to be a much mo
re successful dress next up we have a few suits amelia likes to wear
suits that or at least she had a period where she was always wearing suits don't shy away from them
if you really love them you just need to figure out what kind of details and fit to look for
so that a suit doesn't overwhelm you or doesn't flatter you so what you don't want to do is get
a suit that has overly wide square shoulders you want a suit that has a little shoulder support
if you're going for that if it doesn't re
ally trace your shoulder line closely you can also
get a little bit of sharp support but keep it smaller keep it narrow or else it'll look way
too exaggerated kind of like an 80s power suit you also want to be careful with what
kind of trousers you choose so here her trousers are on the slimmer side but they're
quite long so they kind of bunch up at the bottom you don't really get a clear leg line and here
you have two bottoms or two trousers that are more fitted more slim cut and well crop
ped so
her legs are more defined they're not hidden under a bunch of fabric there's no excess
fabric going on so here with the combination of the larger shoulders and the larger trousers
it's getting a little bit excessive in volume another thing to look out for is the neck so of
course you can wear a deep v-neck but make sure it's not out of balance here it's a very very
plunging v-neck it's almost to her actual waist and her waist isn't visible so that doesn't make
it any better it reall
y drags the eye downward and it creates so much space from the shoulder to the
bottom of the neckline that it becomes the visual center you don't really see her face you just
kind of hone in on one zone here the look is a lot more dispersed we have a deep plunging neckline
that's much more fitted it also comes with a more accurate waist fit and we also have some layers
underneath so we have this little crewneck sweater keep some visual weight dispersed upward here
we have this fun silky kin
d of like shawl accessory going on so that also keeps the look
from going downwards a bit too much lastly we have very minimal detail in this suit but here we
have some more fine little details to keep more interest spread throughout the outfit here
we have the fun little button cuffs that are more visible than any cuffs possibly on this suit we
have this cute very visible um collar or lapel going on we have this cute brooch here again
we have that cool satiny kind of wrap around scarf shaw
l accessory going on also mine
the hair if you're going for a sleek suit better to pick a more slick
and smooth sculpted hairstyle here is another comparison of two suits this one
again watch the hair go for a more slicked back style really show off the neck show
off the shoulders here the shoulders are looking a little bit droopy because of
this plunging neckline because of the length of the pantsuit just the whole span of fabric
it is a little bit flattening and you also have a little ex
cess fabric on the trouser over here
she wears a coat over the suit the coat acts as a small exaggeration of her shoulders you can still
see her neck quite visibly thanks to the nature of the lapel placement and her hair being slicked
back we also have a deep narrow v but we do have that lace to keep the v from just taking over the
entire outfit and here she has a boot cut going on and when worn with heels the boot cut can just
barely barely trail above the floor so it's a very fluid elonga
ting look and overall this outfit has
a little bit more texture it has a little bit of a metallic sheen to it at least from other photos
of this outfit so a little more dynamic than this outfit again we want to also honor her dynamic
essence here there's just not enough of that no brightness and fun going on here it's a little
bit more playful it's a little bit more spunky next up we have some more classic kind of
silhouettes or details here notice that the neckline notice the collar it's s
et a little
wide ideally you want to keep these higher collars closer to the neck because what happens
is that when you wear these wider collars you are making your shoulders look smaller or
you're making your shoulders disappear because you are kind of visually marking the end of your
neck as the start of the the collar so it's not really great for defining your features closely
again watch the hair push it back especially if you're wearing a cute collar you don't want your
hair in the wa
y put it up put it back wear a headband do something here her hair is gorgeous
i love this particular hairstyle on her it's it's fun it's soft but it's polished and it's
sculpted shows off the neck and these wide set straps show off her neck her collarbone
and her shoulders here her shoulders are very exaggerated by whatever shoulder pad or the
stitching of the sleeves in this dress and it just doesn't look very harmonious
with her more narrow kind of body you again can wear shoulder pads a
nd
wear shoulder support but instead of going for a more broad look go for a more lifted
slightly sharper look here the straps are wide but they're not bulky so make sure that your
straps are not so big that they're adding volume to your shoulder area or taking up too much
room and hiding a good chunk of your upper body here we have a more sculpted waist which is not
bad at all but in context of this outfit with the wider shoulders wider neckline it can
look a little rigid here we have thi
s fun peplum kind of waist definition which adds a
bit of lift of dynamism of a fun shape to this more simple body skimming slightly heavier
outfit so you can also add more spark more spunk to your outfit with controlled
volumes as for texture or fabric we have a rougher matte material with a much more square
pattern here more sleek more smooth more sculpted and here the vertical buttons are a little bit
more center stagnant i would say very very classic um here we just have a lot more play
ful button
arrangement with the buttons going um 2x2 and then also on the sides if your outfit needs a
little more fun and if you're a little bit crafty you can go ahead and buy fun buttons maybe
antique looking buttons metallic buttons multicolored buttons and you can sew them onto
a garment that you think needs a little bit more lift and life and you can always take them out so
in this slide i want to talk about the horizontal kind of neckline how to wear a horizontal neckline
without lo
oking a little constrained basically the better in terms of this off shoulder or
sleeveless strapless style so again watch the hair on this side her shoulders are obscured by her
hair her neck her neck is also obscured talking about the actual neckline we have i would
say a kind of constraining looking shape it looks a little tight that with the
slightly rigid nature of the top portion it just doesn't adhere to her any of her curves
there's no like softness being alluded to whereas here whe
re the softer thinner material and the
continuation with the off shoulder sleeves you get a more delicate elongated continuous soft line
and here with a softer fabric that's folded over so you don't get like a narrow band that's very
tight around the top of the chest it also looks a little bit more delicate a little bit more flow
to it here we have thick rough patterns versus the more delicate material and here we have two
kind of rigid square sections just imposing a lot of structure and b
oxiness onto her petite frame
whereas here you can see the the very petite and delicate curves of her body these garments enhance
her curves they don't try to add on to them they don't try to change their shape they go with the
flow all right this side is about a little bit of leather how to wear a little bit of leather in
a fun dynamic and romantic body type friendly way here this outfit is i'm again a little
rigid a little too voluminous with the the flared skirts the shoulders aren't rea
lly
being honored in a fluid or more defined way and it's just a kind of harsh color block
here we have no waist definition again a lot of volume at the the
bottom of the dress and this leather jacket doesn't define her shoulders in
the best way possible um also the hair is not screaming bright and dynamic and fun
here we have a much more fitted kind of leather material it's not as heavy there isn't as
much volume to it we have a more narrow neckline some fun details on the shoulders to
b
ring out the shape of the shoulders we have waist definition and we have some cute
little soft lace detail to give it a little bit more character versus these that are kind of
minimal in detail next up we have some separates again ideally you don't want to wear very
large lapels very large shawl collars or large contrast trim or large trim in the same
color it will still stick out you don't want oversized sleeves very large buttons half
tuck you're not getting any soft fluid definition so t
his top combined with this you know more
rough frigid slightly more square skirt doesn't really embrace her body as well as these outfits
that have a softer silkier material they really hug the waist how the curves they just look a
lot more bright and a lot more fun and playful yes this is a more casual outfit on the go maybe
with just a few changes you could dress these two outfits down to wear you know on errands
throughout your daily life on a lunch date so this side is about the beautif
ul simple
elegance that looks amazing on emilia instead of this very ornate style and yes i know this
is like a costumey style for a certain event that being said just looking at the elements a
more fluid close elegant simple draping style really brings out the beautiful features
of her body so here we have a very large lower neckline and a kind of structured waist kind
of like a corset waist effect here we have a more delicate fluid neckline here as well and the
waist just looks less bulk
y in terms of support underneath there probably is some support but
it doesn't look as extensive as with this dress this ornate detailing still comes off
a little rough as if you were to touch it and you just feel all the different threads
and the embroidery i think she looks beautiful in these soft and very smooth fabrics
when she wants to look very very polished so again take into considering consideration
what you're dressing for maybe you like a more bright and busy look for casual wear
but
when you really want to look polished you prefer a more simple way of dressing you're
allowed to have these different preferences so embrace them so here are just a few of her
kind of like casual outfits that honor her body while also honoring this more bright modern
playful dynamic style it's not frilly it's not super girly it's not very delicate but
it really suits her it really makes her image look very holistic and iconic so look for
proportional fits play with different textures
for smoother softer fabrics and don't go for
anything too oversized sure you can play with some oversized elements here and there but overall
you don't want to drown in any of your garments and lastly this side is to demonstrate what
happens when you don't do whatever i listed in the previous slide and you really go for a very
dynamic super animated very eclectic kind of wardrobe way of dressing it very very easily
becomes overwhelming on someone who has this kind of narrow petite soft fram
e so again avoid
anything oversized anything with too many animated cartoonish child like details like the hearts
the lemons the butterflies a lot of oversize a lot of oversized elements a lot of harsh harsh
color blocking with rough material a lot of volumes there's just nothing really fluid or
draping about any of these outfits and there's just so many horizontals going on in these
outfits all right so that was my video for today looking at another romantic with a bright
and dynamic styl
e if you haven't already seen the previous videos i go over the more classic and
crisp simple refined style from jean simmons and i also go over the more gothic dark intricate and
ornate style of christina ricci if you're having any trouble figuring out your style or what kind
of image you want to cultivate i do offer services on the alliancelover.com i'll
see you in the next video bye
