now I have gotten a lot of requests to review one of Chef Ranveers fried rice videos and today we're  going to do just that now Chef Ranveer is a celebrity chef in India he is also a judge  on MasterChef India and he has a lot but I mean like a lot of delicious recipes on  his YouTube channel and if you are new if you are new to my channel, my name is James Makinson  I've been cooking as a chef in the United States and over here in Europe and over here in Europe and if you  do happen to enjoy th
is video or one of the others then don't forget to give them a  like maybe a share as well and don't forget to subscribe because it does help out my  channel greatly and we will be making our own egg fried rice video once we reach half  a million followers now let's get started oh this is going to be an interesting video it's going to be a fusion-style fried rice so it's a vegetarian fried rice not egg fried rice and this Fusion between Indian and Chinese cuisine for those of you who wonder why
we soak some types of rice by soaking rice you help speed up the cooking process because it helps to start the process of the rice rehydrating and if you wonder why some recipes also call for washing rice well that helps remove excess starch and the excess starch or the starch itself is what makes rice sticky some types of rice have more starch than others Arborio has a lot of starch in it but with arborio rice we don't want to rinse aborio because that starch is what makes the sauce creamy in r
isotto adding oil to the rice as it's cooking now with pasta there is a debate among chefs on whether or not you should add oil during the cooking process some prefer to add it after the pasta is cooked others say that you should add it during the cooking process while even others say if you add the oil to the water during the cooking process since the oil and water don't mix that it doesn't make any difference now the amylose and amylopectin that he is referring to are the starches that are in
rice and some types of rice contain more of one or both of these type of starches this is why some types of rice are less sticky and some types of rice are more sticky or more starchy now this is what I've said in a couple of previous fried rice videos is that every time you go out to any Chinese restaurant at least in the U.S when you order egg fried rice you normally get it with carrots and peas depending on a course where you go not all places I'm saying I like this but it is pretty common to
get this when you order a side of egg fried rice here's right about that carrots will take much longer to cook than green peppers anytime that you're using any root vegetables carrots celerac potatoes anything like this they will take longer to cook especially depending on what size that you cut them smaller you cut them the faster they cook this recipe contained quite a few ingredients you can make a very basic very simple egg fried rice or just a fried rice but I know that Chef Ranveer a lot
of his recipes look absolutely delicious and this one is looking delicious but it is something to think about isn't it I mean Chef Ranveer is teaching everyone on how to make perfect basmati rice for egg fried rice and in the egg red rice video with Jamie and Uncle Roger we use store-bought rice you can cut Corners to speed things up but cooking rice is not a very complicated thing cooking it perfectly though takes skill that is true when making stir-fried rice you we are basically sauteing the
rice we're not deep frying it we're shallow pan frying it but the word saute is a French culinary term that is now International and like many other terms that we use in the kitchen at least in the western kitchens many of these terms are French based because of the old French Brigade Escoffier every single term in the kitchen means a specific thing and we have a lot of them to saute means to fry quickly or to cook quickly in a little bit of fat or to fry hot and fast in a little bit of oil so w
e're going to be pan frying deep frying is another thing very cute I think I understand what he means by military heat if you look at any professional Chinese Kitchen and see the actual walk station is amazing I mean seriously the amount of heat that's coming out of any of these and when you cook at such a high temperature it changes the flavor of the food you don't have to basically boil it I mean things will cook almost instantaneously or how Uncle Roger likes to call it it has the walk hay an
d this is something that you can get much easier with having a professional walk set up than not having one at home you can still try to achieve the similar results but it's a little more challenging to get that same flavor out of your food interesting that he's adding the soy sauce before we cook the rice well before we stir fry it may be for the reason that again we're not using a proper Wok setup and you can't get the same temperatures like you can with an actual walk station but if you're no
t careful with adding the soy sauce early you can burn it and burnt soy sauce does not taste very I like to add a little fish sauce to my egg fried rice at home I don't use MSG so I do add a little fish sauce to enhance the flavor it doesn't smell very good fish sauce it stinks but I'll tell you what it tastes very good yum yum so he is doing it for that reason now about this song that's playing right now it kind of reminds me of going to the medieval fair when I was a little kid I used to enjoy
going to those medieval fairs a lot too everybody dresses up in medieval clothing they have stations everywhere as well and they have activities for the kids and you can do a lot they have food stations they have falconry they have shows they have jesters and my favorite station was throwing rotten fruit at a guy that's usually throwing insults at you you get to throw fruit at them or tomatoes in this case because otherwise a cantaloupe would hurt wouldn't it but when I was little I used to pla
y baseball and I got them a couple times that was fun he is right about that depending on where you live I know that gas can be a little expensive because here just here in Spain the gas prices are very expensive and having a walk station putting out that many BTUs I could only imagine what the gas bill would be and I don't want to imagine it I really don't this is what I say all the time with adding the greens later because if you add them too early they can turn brown on you and that's not a g
ood thing I would love Uncle Roger Drew you one of chef renby's videos because I think you would like them I really do that is a good little trick on how to learn at home because you do need to learn how to toss if you want to learn how to cook you can use it with a lot of things especially in the saute pan when you're flipping anything this street style vegetarian fried rice is looking very tasty well guys we finally reviewed Chef Ranveer V's video on fried rice not egg fried rice but uh vegeta
rian fried rice and this recipe looks very tasty as always her friend V gives very clear very easy to follow instructions which helps you learn on how to make these tasty dishes but there were a few ingredients that were interesting with this fried rice adding the oil to the rice for one and also the vinegar at the end but the cilantro though I fully agree with this because I love cilantro absolutely love it so guys if you've tried this recipe let me know your comments Down Below on how much do
you like it and what you would change if you wanted to change anything as well if you did enjoy this video don't forget to give it a like maybe a share as well and don't forget to subscribe so we can reach our goal and make our own egg fried rice at home until next time guys take care be sure to check out this next video coming up here and I will see you guys again very soon take care

@cemeteryhill

Roasting bad cooking videos is fun, but this is the kind of quality I really appreciate learning from.

@chfalk7697

I am a big fan of Indian cuisine. The way they play with spices and flavors independently if vegetarian, meat or fish is amazing. And with your technical explanation, even better.

@bhavanachouhan7293

He was the reason i learned cooking. The way he expresses minute details with fun which made cooking joy of my life. And his punch line - fir kahoge ranveer ne btaya nyi😂

@unchartedsteppes7138

Indian Chinese cuisine has a relatively long history as far as Chinesse fusion cuisine goes. Ever since the 18th century, Chinese merchants from Fuzhian would come to Calcutta and open restaurants, and that's where dishes like Chilli Chicken, Fried Rice, Chop Suey (different from the American kind), and Hakka noodles come from. One of my favorite misnomers is the Indian Chinese dish "Manchurian," which got its name from the Manchus who ruled Qing China, even though the people making the dish were ethnically Hokkien, not Manchu.

@AnujPoudel017

Being a country sandwiched between India and China, we get many different unique crossovers in Nepal. Combine that with Nepali native food, great for food hunt.

@Mark-nh2hs

Interesting in India there is a region close to the Chinese border where they use spices traditional used in Chinese cooking but are mixed together with the Indian spices. As well as several other ingredients. They have some amazing dishes.

@mattso7465

I really like both your and Ranveer's laid-back attitude when cooking on the screen. I feel more invited to actually cook the recipes.

@Northstar2

If anyone can understand hindi, he’s even funnier and more charming in that language. Love chef ranveer :)

@Goldenbirdchirp

To us Himalyans, we are more familiar with indo Chinese cuisine than we are with cuisine from... say... the South of India. I personally prefer Tibeto Nepalese cuisine specifically because of my obvious Himalayan bias but the food from South West of China like Sichuan also looks great and because of the heat, I feel like it would suit my taste.

@harkiratsingh2872

Hi chef!!! A tip regarding the garnishing- here in Calcutta, the home of Indo Chinese cuisine, we soak the chillies in vinegar, for some time... Depending on personal preference. It gives the chillies a tangy sharpness, in addition to the usual hotness, and goes well with darker fried rice recipes, especially vegetarian and egg varieties. Also, coriander isn't much used here for garnish, instead onion springs are the preferred greens for it.

@roderickcampbell2105

Very very nice video. A great chef, and I also like really appreciate hearing the real voice and seeing subtitles. I do not understand the language but I think hearing the authentic voice is important. It enhances understanding I'd say. And the dish looked awesome. Many thanks.

@ricklee5845

Ranveer is my hero when it comes to Indian cuisine! His "Chicken 65" recipe available here on Youtube is my absolute favourite 🙏

@anirudhmitra4232

Indian Chinese food is so popular here , you can find street carts literally anywhere, even in small towns.

@VerhoevenSimon

It's always a treat to see him cook, the production quality is amazing.

@arifhussain1

I learned all my cooking from chef Ranveer. Love for him from US

@PotatoSofi

Every time I watch his videos I always think "he looks like an amazingly kind person"

@HoshikoStarz

Chef Ranveer's fried rice end product looks so delicious. Too delicious that I almost ate my phone. 😏

@bassguitar9955

Here in UAE, Indian restaurants have fried rice in their menu. The ingredients in this video are what i see in my fried rice whenever i order a takeout from indian restaurants. They always include soy sauce and vinegar with green chillis as a dipping sauce. Sometimes I ask for poppadoms and they give one for free😊.

@graceonfilmsnstuff

and omg that tomato throwing sounds absolute fun. i am a huge fan of Renaissance fairs too.
