Hey guys, it's Jules, and we're pretty much
done with Summer. While I did skip the big recap because of work and junk, I did get
to watch every new show that came out, plus some sequels. So I decided
to do my regular tier list video but mix it up a bit. Make it look
better... and quicker. As always, if you don't see a certain sequel, either I
haven't started the series yet and you can put it wherever you like, or I did watch it
before but I dropped the show because either it didn't catch m
e... or I thought it was trash.
But again, this is just my dumb opinion. So I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
Maybe I missed some good stuff. And hit that subscribe button so I can keep doing these,
please and thank you. Anyway, let's get to it. Let's start with the most popular new one:
ZOM 100. Beautiful first episode with such a relatable problem for our protag, being enslaved
to a dream job he thought he wanted, but ended up destroying him. And the zombie apocalypse being
his wakeup call is genius and hilarious. And it leads to this amazing sequence of him running from
this horde but also the chains of his crappy job, so he can go out and complete his bucket list.
But after episode 1, it hasn't reached that high again. It's been fun, with a lot of great
scenes, new characters and scenarios popping up, but it kind of drags at some parts. Episodes 6 and
7 felt like that to me. But again when it hits, it's some A-tier stuff. Plus, the animation and
colors are g
reat. There IS a Hiatus now, but I'll keep it at A tier. Hoping it stays good...
whenever it comes back. Oh, and it has an awesome ED, and a great OP... After it got completed.
Also on Netflix, My Happy Marriage was a big surprise! A romance story that takes place in a
19th century Japan where spirits and magic exist. Must protect girl Mio is exploited by her family
and is sent to be wed to "terrible" man, but ends up being exactly what she's needed. Animation and
designs are beautiful. It
nails the time period, as well as the feel. And the magic part actually
is a pivotal part to the story, so we get some nice effects and cool action sequences. The family
being horrible does go a little "Disney villain", and her hesitation does annoy me just a bit,
but I'd easily recommend the show. Heck, even my mom picked it up. It's a solid anime with
a wholesome theme, but with some bite as well. Top of A tier. The season had a lot of variety, but
let's run down the few isekai real quick
, and it's been okay. We do get the usual stuff you get
with these shows, like the main protag being OP, being stuck with cute girls, leveling up and such,
but usually with a twist. Basically: My Unique Skill. But, it's harmless. Guy starts weak, but
every drop he gets from the monsters is S rank. And he power levels. It actually has some good
feel moments since the guy died from crunch time. But it does feel repetitive by episode 5. Needs
more oomph. But again, if you're looking for that,
it's harmless isekai stuff. Can't say the same for
The Great Cleric, where the guy also overworked, but he tries to use his business skills to
advance in the new world. Unfortunately, it's not really that interesting. Painfully
average and kind of forgettable, at least to me. It might have gotten better later, but I
just couldn't get into it. Being able to outsmart people in other worlds really isn't anything new,
and I feel Sweet Reincarnation does that better. A master dessert maker dies
in a very ironic way,
and is now a kid in a world full of royal politics and village management. While his ultimate goal
is making sweet stuff, what surprised me is how well explored these themes are. Add the magic
and the powers, and it's good! The downside is a lot of very goofy moments and characters that
don't always land, but it's still entertaining. And it's visually okay. I'm very curious what
they'll do with it later, so yeah, C tier. But I couldn't get into Am I Actually the Strong
est?
Neet reincarnates, doesn't want to stick out, but ends up having a ridiculously strong power.
Wolf lady wants to mate with him as a baby... we all know this story. Lots of stuff turning
me off. He's supposed to have barrier magic, but the range it has to do basically anything is
very dumb. Floating, telekinesis, translation... It annoyed me quick. It's nothing too bad, but I
didn't want to continue watching. We got another villainous/otome isekai, and honestly this might
be my favorit
e one so far. The girl is destined to be the main villain of the story, so yeah she's
going to change how the story goes, but instead of doing it for herself, she actually does it
to benefit other characters and the kingdom, so it comes off feeling very nice. And I like
how we get to see the alternate timeline, where her normal character is such a B*TCH! So it
gets you pretty interested in how the story will change. A little too safe and childish in some
parts, but it's pretty good. Solid s
tuff. B tier. Now we've made it to the peak evolution of the
genre... The Vending Machine isekai. The funniest thing is... it's not even that bad. A huge fan of
vending machines dies trying to save one falling off a car, because of course. And revives as
one himself. You think this wouldn't work, but they implement a lot of rules and guidelines.
Leveling up depends on how much sales he gets. He can change what kind of machine he is, or what
products he sells. They factor in mortality and du
rability. So it's pretty nuts how detailed it
is. And while he can't speak normally, he uses the generic lingo to somehow get through these fantasy
characters, which is a little unbelievable, but logic was dead anyways. He makes friends with
a powerful waifu who can lift, and bonds with the townspeople... somehow. He goes with her on
adventures, he brings the rations, he saves the day, etc. So yeah, it really surprised me at
first. Unfortunately, after the halfway point, it starts getting d
ull. While it is better than
a generic isekai, it can't escape the usual stuff that I don't like. Solutions that are really out
there, over explaining, and even the ecchi for no reason. Plus the animation and designs take a hit
along the way. Couldn't get past that, but again, if you need some isekai, you really could do
worse. Lower C tier. And of course I can't forget Mushoku Tensei coming back. If you've seen my
videos before, you know I'm a big fan of the show, and I was really hyped fo
r the continuation to
that awesome second part of season 1. And... we're still not there yet, at least in terms of
hype. What this story does best is world building. Interesting characters, lore, languages,
so many locations. And season 2 does that, but it takes its time. Rudy has to venture
on by himself. regain his mojo, and this new village and people he interacts with are great.
We got great action and character moments, while still having the beautiful animation, but I felt
that we we
re stuck there for a little too long, especially after Rudy got his... issue. And
this dysfunction he has really took center stage. And while I wasn't really expecting this,
since I kind of thought he was going to go past all this "stuff", the story kept moving. We
got the school, new and returning characters, and more lore going on, but a little slower
than I'd hoped. This was going to go on B tier, but what Mushoku does best is slap you with
some crazy big moments out of nowhere, and they
definitely have some in these past few episodes.
I'm fully on board with the show still, and for now it's A tier. There's a lot of stuff still, so
let me do a quick rundown of some. Liar Liar was one of my most hyped shows before it aired, and
honestly might be my biggest disappointment. The idea of the protag having to constantly lie to
appear more powerful in this game based world is a good concept, but man, it turned out so boring.
The games they play are super varied, but not in a good
way. Every episode has a segment of them
dumping exposition and rules, just for them to cheat in the end in the dumbest way. If you're
patient, might be okay, but this goes down a lot. is an anime based on the video game, and honestly
I didn't care enough to continue. It's low D tier for me but maybe if you play the games you might
enjoy it. But at least the show knows what their strengths are. Yohane the Parhelion, on the other
hand, is more worth it. It's an alternate fantasy world with
the Love Life cast. I'm usually not big
on mass produced Idol stuff, but the presentation of this show might interest you. It's the usual
girl trying to find her place in the world, but add in wacky stuff. It's nothing insanely good,
but it might be someone's fancy, especially if you're a fan. If you needed a mecha, you only have
Synduality: Noir. And while the animation for the robots isn't anything amazing, I was pleasantly
surprised with the world and characters. Boy find finds a cyborg
waifu who can power up his ship,
and they start forming a bond. But they don't do the Darling in the Franxx pose, so show bad.
Fights are okay, but the characters make it fun, albeit a little on the generic lighthearted
goofy side. Plus we have the overused amnesia skit for the girl. And some episodes stop me from
ranking it higher, but I've had fun. Shockingly decent. Another one is Gene of AI, a show with
a world where AI has been developed enough to have sentient androids and cyborgs, an
d how this
affects the normal population, how they adapt, the moral and political implications, all
that interesting stuff. It all connects to our main doctor who specializes in AI treatment.
Downsides are that visually it's kind of bad. And the disconnect story-wise between episodes might
turn people off. But again, I find the concept entertaining, especially with so many crappy
AI videos everywhere. Classroom of Heroes is a typical fantasy show where an overpowered dumb
guy is hidden in
a school for heroes, but he can't help being OP and being flooded with cute girls,
and of course ecchi hijinks. While the designs and animation are fine, the typical pervy stuff
is a bit much for me. But it does throw a lot of jokes and gags, and admittedly some work. There's
a part where a character gets an Evangelion story, and I was freaking shocked. Where did that come
from?! Might be for some, but not enough for me. But it gets top of D tier, though. I wasn't
really feeling Level 1 Dem
on King at first, but the idea was perfect. The Demon King was
defeated by the hero, but years later has been reincarnated as a pudgy chibi... girl(?) And
is eager to see what's happened to the world, and his rival. But is disappointed that now he's a
full-on slob, with scandals to boot. But it falls victim to the same ecchi nonsense really quick.
Another thing is that sometimes it feels aimless. Decide if you're going to be goofy, serious
or a romcom? It's kind of all over the place, but a
gain, it's turn off your brain fun for the
most part. Just can't put it higher. And Asaka... is a show that exists. Seriously I couldn't even
remember what the show was about, and I saw like three episodes of it. Superpowered guys who can
control elements? Fine on paper, very boring on execution. Fights are boring, and there's a huge
dump of exposition that just took me out of it. F for forgettable. We got an adaptation of Rurouni
Kenshin, a show about a former killer samurai who now wander
s in peace, but obviously gets put to
the test. While I didn't watch the '96 version, I'm really enjoying this one. Crazy action-packed
fights, combined with quirky likeable characters, good colors, designs and animation to boot. It
does feel a little dated, but it's been fun. A good time all around. Speaking of... you know what
Harry Potter was missing? A Japanese samurai girl, apparently. Yes, after Mashle went for the funny,
Seven Spellblades really goes for the "authentic" magic school
experience, but with the obvious
anime twist. If you thought Hogwarts didn't care for their students, this school just
plainly says 20% of them are going to die, so they really hype up the danger part. Dungeons,
labyrinths, hidden monsters, class wars, all that. Plus the addition of them fighting with
blades kind of sets it apart from the usual magic shtick... kind of. It still has its copycats.
But the animation really tries. You can tell just from the opening it's putting its all. And whi
le
it does have a good start, with them expanding on the magical beasts this world has, different
spells and classes, what dwindles it down is the characters being too generic. There's a couple
that interest me, but after the second half... meh. Some of the twists are just unnecessary. Just
TRY to give these kids some personalities. Don't just change them out of nowhere. But again, I see
the vision. And I'd at least recommend you try it. Kind of hope it recovers somehow. All right,
let's g
o for some romance shows. Unfortunately, not all of them are amazing. My Tiny Senpai is
supposed to be an office romcom, but it's really just the high school setting in disguise. The
small, but "gifted" boss girl doesn't fit the senpai vibe at all. They try super hard to make
her cute, and while some visual gags are fine, it gets repetitive quick. Double meaning jokes,
sexy scenarios, all that. HR would have a field day here. It's the typical Project No. 9 show that
mostly goes for the low
hanging fruit. It WISHES it was my Senpai is Annoying. D tier. Temple
isn't any better. Guy's dad was a womanizer, and his family's name is smeared because of
it. So he decides to be his exact opposite, but UH-OH, now he's in this WACKY situation with
all these hot girls that immediately thirst for him. Oh Boy! While I kind of like the protag's
pure-hearted mission to stay a virgin, this show is just empty fan service. Animation and designs
are meh, the ecchi scenes are way over the top, an
d even the voice acting is kinda off. Just
misses F tier, since some jokes got a laugh from me, even if ironically. Now, we get to the big
one. The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses had a lot of talk even before airing, since the studio that
made it is Go-Hands. And... yeah, some of these camera angles are so wacky. Using them for simple
walking scenes was a bit much. Apart from that, visually it's fine and the concept itself is
simple. Girl forgets her glasses, guy falls for her, rinse and re
peat. And that's where I
had my issues. Almost every romantic scenario depends on this girl forgetting her damn glasses.
Sometimes they're broken, so understandable. But once they're fixed, she still forgets them!! What
the heck are you doing?! You're blind as a bat!! And it annoys me even more that they try to make
her super confident about what she does and sees, when she just can't! And don't get me started
on the guy. It's okay to feel nervous with the girl you like and sing her praises
, but this guy
is down BAD. We got it, you're a simp. Shut up and do something about it! Don't get me wrong, I
usually love the young love romcom where the girl makes the guy flustered, but unlike other better
shows, this one is so hooked on the glasses thing, which again, just annoys me on how forced it is,
in the sense that there's such a simple solution! I couldn't keep up. I know a lot of people enjoyed
it, and admittedly the visuals are pretty good... when it's not going crazy, but I c
an't personally
put this higher than bottom C. Please don't hate me... Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence, on
the other hand, is way more up my alley. A pastor is serving a waifu saint, and she develops
feelings for him. But the pastor is way too noble, and dumb, to notice it. Very simple anime, but
also very cute and warm. I love the color scheme, the characters and the relationships. Plus the
opening is by ClariS, so I was immediately on board. But that same simplicity does make it
less a
ppetizing than the other shows. It's a bit too sweet. I love seeing it, but I can't say it's
binge worthy, you know? I'll keep it at the top of C tier, but I still really like it. Hmm, what am
I missing? I really didn't like this show. School famous stalker almost gets decked by a soccer
ball, and just suddenly decides to leave the girl alone, which weirds everybody out, and makes the
girl want the attention back, even though she just said she was annoyed by it. I don't know, the cast
itsel
f really annoyed me quick. Guy is a spaz, girl is just a typical tsun, and the class acting
like they were a thing, when the girl clearly said they weren't, just made me cringe. Maybe I'm
overreacting, and I got to it in a bad mood, and maybe it got better or something, but I
just really disliked it in my first viewing. If you liked it, let me know, but it's my last
place on the list. Easily skippable. Let's run down the sequels. Sugar Apple Fairy Tale keeps
being a good shoujo anime with a
charming cast, and a lot of challenges given to our main
girl. It's crazy how she can't catch a break, but I really like her growth throughout the
season. It's still on par with season 1, and it keeps expanding on this interesting world.
B tier. Horimiya 1&½, just like Ousama Ranking, explores some bonus interactions between the solid
likeable cast of characters. Even if there isn't much romantic tension or drama, since we know how
the story ends, it's very enjoyable to watch them just han
g out, go to class and be goofy. Glad to
see them have one more go with the story. Solid B tier. Link Click came back, and it's just as
hype as ever. We immediately get some answers from that crazy ending, just to get hit with this huge
story change. The police have to get involved, which gets us some great characters out of it,
and we get more action and fight sequences, which are really good. Granted, if you were a big
fan of season 1's various stories and how they try to not tamper with
time, you might not like it as
much, since season 2 stays mostly on the present, and goes for a more crime mystery vibe. But it's
still as gripping and crazy. tThe way they end episodes on cliffhangers is so damn masterful. I
still say season 1 is the best, but season 2 is also an S tier. Oh, and they released one of the
best openings of the year. It's crazy how good it is. Watch. This. Show. Mononogatari season 2
had a bit of a slow start. They really focus on shipping the main duo, but on
ce the story gets
going, it's really fun. I still think the show is criminally underwatched. Action is cool, the
ideas are creative, and I'm really interested in what's going to happen to the cast. We
do get some big dialogue dumps, but again, when it's on high gear, it's hard to tune off. I
still recommend it if you want something to watch while Jujutsu airs... Speaking of! Holy crap,
Jujutsu Kaisen! Yeah, the show is still ongoing and there's a lot of episodes missing because of
the hiat
us, but come on, you know it's S tier. The first mini-arc detailing Gojo and Geto's past is
just amazing stuff. In regular Jujutsu fashion, it introduces characters so quick, and immediately
it's so cool to see them BE in this world. Animation and action are on point as always, and
we got candidates for best OP and ED of the year. And then we go to the Shibuya arc, and sheesh...
they did not miss a beat. Not going to talk a lot, but it was so great to see the main trio again.
But the plot w
astes no time, and damn. You're missing out if you're not watching already. We
haven't been able to escape manga spoilers for a reason. Must see stuff. And we have the last few
new ones. The Masterful Cat is the best Go-Hands! anime from Summer, no contest. A very comfy
show about a slobby woman and her freakishly large black cat who takes care of her, as in
he cleans, cooks, shops, separates the trash, it's very funny. You think that would make the
girl unlikable, but the dynamic they have
is very wholesome and nice enough to make me enjoy her.
Plus the cat is really pulling for her to grow, which again, is very warming to watch. Plus the
gags and jokes are genuinely funny. The nitpick would be that it tends to be a little repetitive,
and a few skits overstay their welcome. But it's tough not to appreciate this show, especially
with such a quirky premise. And the animation and designs are really nice. Everytime I
see the ending sequence just warns my heart, with the 2D anima
tion, the song and how
they show the girl saving the cat first, and how he does the same for her after. It's such
a nice watch. Dark Gathering, on the other hand, goes full on creepy. Just in time for spooky
season, we get the story of a pair of young adults who got cursed, and their adventures with this
really unsettling girl whose goal is to capture ghosts in order to save the soul of her long lost
mom, which leads to them going into haunted areas and getting the scaredy cat main guy in t
rouble
just to help her cause. She's kind of screwed up, but I really like how the show just goes with the
premise, and how it doesn't shy away from some dark stuff. Good visuals that managed to create
some unsettling scenes, which are not super scary, but it's disturbing enough to make you react,
all while mixing in some funny bits here and there. THIS is what I was hoping Mieruko-chan
would do, but didn't, since they focused more on OTHER stuff. A big surprise for me, since I'm
not a hor
ror fan, but I'm really intrigued to see what they're going to do in the second half.
Solid A tier stuff. Helck is fun! The demon world is having a tournament to see who the
next Demon Lord will be, but in comes Helck, the brother of the legendary hero who defeated
him. So tension flies with our very quirky cast of demons and the redheaded boss being skeptical.
But Helck insists he hates humans, all while being very energetic and happy. He's OP, but it
works well with the comedic side of th
e story, plus the looming war between the human and demon
realms really brings a satisfying enough problem to the wrap the premise. Animation is decent and
the OST is really fitting. Just barely misses A tier for now, but here's hoping it keeps getting
better. And lastly, Undead Murder Farce. Guys, this is my favorite new show from Summer. The
whole premise of two goofy magical beings, and the maid, being detectives in monster cases
is such a fun concept. It's one of those shows that immedi
ately grabbed me by episode one, but I
did not expect where it would go. Aya and Sugaru are one of my favorite duos this year. One is half
human, half oni, the other is an immortal talking head, and they just have so much fun together,
making really bad jokes and just blabbering about. And yeah, I'm a sucker for some good mysteries.
And this show understands the vibe it needs, keeping the intrigue of the several cases and
making the results very satisfying to watch, and mixing some comedy a
nd some really good action as
well. The OP is unskippable for me. I don't know, it's hard to describe a detective fantasy story
with good mysteries and fights, all while bringing in Sherlock freaking Holmes and vampires, just
to name some. I can't do it justice. If you're as much a fan of Vanitas no Carte as I am, and
of whodunnit stories, you're going going to love this. And I'm going to freak if this doesn't
get a season 2. S tier, just behind Jujutsu. And that's my tier list. Overall Sum
mer was an
interesting season. Might have lost steam compared to a strong Spring, but some good gems came out.
And the sequels did not disappoint. Really glad to have seen these and shared my opinion with you
guys. Let me know below what was your favorites. And again, sorry if I've been a little quiet
these past months. Work and real life stuff have really stopped me from doing more videos. But
I'm planning to make new stuff that might come out quicker, so please sub if you'd like to stay
updated. And as always, thank you. Here's hoping Fall is awesome. It's been Jules, hope you have a
great one, and I'll see you all for the next one.

Good stuff man,keep it up!
Wow, you’re criminally underrated, thank you for the tier list. Btw, what you said about the Girl with the Glasses I agree, but it did get better, enough to put it at B for me
Great video!Have you seen Bleach tybw part 2?
Idk what happened to me, only watched 3 from all of these
Who’s the girl in the thumbnail, and what’s she from, uhh, asking for a friend…
Dude don't clickbait with "EVERY" anime if you didn't even watched Bleach or Bungo Stray Dogs as one of the most important ones... such a nonsense title.
