seven people to hold him down seven people was he a big guy no if he were to get a hold of me it
would have killed you it probably would kill me so you said tha
t that you've been a priest for what
over 25 years 25 years so in that in that length of time how many exorcisms have you done I think I
lost come but uh I will say over 100 over 100 wow welcome back to something scary to talk about so
today's interview is very special it's not every day that you get the opportunity to talk to a
priest especially somebody who has done exorcisms in the past this is going to be a really cool
episode and also very very scary please welcome my guest at this tim
e father Fernandez thank you
for being here thank you for having me so I know that uh this this is a very special interview
I've never been a able to actually like sit down with a priest and and ask all these questions
and and everything so this is this is amazing for me um I'm so thankful that you're here and
I know that you're a priest uh but do you mind telling me a little bit about where you're from
what are you you do exactly that way the viewers can know uh yes of course well I'm from
Mexico
City and I actually grew up in a small town um a little bit outside of the city I mean the the
good thing about not being a priest is that you can be helping people on their lives because it's
not about just working we are here for a purpose and we're trying to fulfill that purpose just
helping people you enjoy like helping the the community and everybody yes because a lot of
times you can see how people is trying to make their living but they cannot really get there and
they're su
ffering they got all this necessity and they don't know what else to do so you need to
support them spiritually and give them hope that there is something else besides this life so
I know that uh you you've been a priest for a while how long has it been it's it's been close to
25 years by now 25 years yes so you've seen a lot of uh crazy stuff yes yeah so so the one of the
main reasons why we decided to uh meet today was because uh I know you mentioned that you've done
uh exorcisms in the p
ast so yeah it it is funny how life works sometimes okay to be honest I never
thought will be performing exorcisms but since I become a priest I always have this deep desire as
a menion of helping people I guess you could you could say was sakala couldn't refuse yeah so you
just wanted to help them because they they were processed so you you you want to help them out
it's a suffering so imagine if you go through an exerp you're going to end up with a very I will
say Scar and maybe maybe spi
ritual scar even in a life and not only you your family as well okay
so it's not just about getting rid of the demon you also have to support them I mean we need to
go first in getting rid of the demon right an exorcism there is this misconception that all of
the exorcisms are like a horror movie of Hollywood with this spectacles and flashy and floating
people and I mean that's that's not really true that's not how it is most of them are not okay um
most of them are very subtle yes some of
them and and there is one specifically that comes to mind
I like a crazy one a crazy I mean as I mentioned most of them are not but this in particular uh the
person was trashing around speaking in tongues and he was also exhibiting these Force out of these

missed my goodness he missed it was scary
believe me and I was worried he Char me after that so
wow so he just got up and went towards you he you could see it him no h whatever had inside
yeah launching at me he almost grabbed me okay but I have have a full team of professionals that
are helping us fellow Believers and they grab him first they held them down it took seven people
to hold him down seven people was he a big guy no was just like you like okay so but it is the the
force inside the demons give them Force so they given t
he the ability to do all of that yes and it
took seven people think about that seven people to hold someone down if he want if he were to get
a hold of me he would have killed you probably will kill me my goodness that's one of the scary
ones that's one of the scariest ones that you have still feeling shields on my body just telling
you about it yeah I don't know how you would be able to deal with something like that you know
what it's all about finding balance okay you need to get your sel
f into the right head space and
it has to be mentally physically and spiritual because when you are facing down those dark Forces
you really need to be standing in a solid ground so how do you how do you usually get ready for
something like that for me that means diving deep into prayer years fasting and surrounding
yourself with fellow Believers why because they going to help you feed in your soul your beliefs
and as I said if you have somebody that is going to be supporting you if I didn'
t had those people
right there I wouldn't be talking to you right now no they would you would have been dead probably
yeah or at very least I'll be in the hospital yeah and what is most important is prayers the power
of prayers you cannot really dismiss that so you can't do an exorcism without being uh without
praying first and getting everything good within like yourself again you need to be ready and
it's it has to be spiritually but also mentally okay and this include um you know the sac
raments
getting into confession getting into communion uh meditation getting in touch with God being as
well you need to be strong and physically and mentally so physically I you need to exercise
because if you had to be holding down a person who is possessed and it has this Force out of
this world I mean you need to be ready for that too right there not much you can do if you if
you're not fit otherwise he's going to throw you like a piece of paper yeah so when it comes to
doing an exorci
sm how do you know that somebody is actually possessed and it's not like a mental
issue like a mental health problem right there is a very common question and we ask ourselves that
question every single case in one hand you might have all these all these signs like speaking on
tongues unbelievable Force as I mentioned before that could signal something else than a mental
illness okay but here's the thing you cannot just jump into conclusions we need to bring experts
psychologist psychiatris
ts to help us figure it out what is really going on it's not always easy
but again with a lot of prayers and collaboration among the team we can always get to the bottom
and determine if it's just a mental illness or a true spiritual possession okay but it had
to be a team effort canot be only just just you yes yeah so so walk me through that process
like let's say someone is uh possessed and they they think they're possessed and they reach out
to you do you automatically go into an exorcis
m or do you do like a process first so I mean the
first thing is people are going to be coming then if they recognize it because I say a lot of times
it's very subtle okay and people doesn't really realize it at the beginning but let's say they
already went through that process they realize it and they say okay something's going on we need
to call the priest and or a religious leader so then will'll call psychiatrics or psychologists
that they are part of the team this is um part of the net
work that we have and his fellow Believers
right I mean everybody believes in demons because uh if they don't believe they're not going to
help us okay because they will say it's just a mental illness and they're going to end up give
them some pills for it gotcha so it's got to be fellow Believers that they can professionally
and not only they you need to be objective at the same time because even if you believe in
demons you cannot just say it's going to be a demon as well right and so the
y need to go and
perform all these type of tests for me one of the big ones is um the speaking on tongues is
very uh reving and probably the force because even if it's a mental illness a lot of times it's
harder even though maybe some schizophrenics I'm not a doctor I'm not diagnosing but just on my
experience experience on what I seen yeah so so if someone's uh speaking in tongue and and they're
saying like another completely different language that might be a good sign that something else
is
happening in combination with also there is a dawn from the holy spirit that they could give you and
you speak so in combination blasphemy insults uh ET I also heard that sometimes when people are
possessed they uh they know like certain details about you like very specific things that only
maybe like demons or the devil would know uh yes and and actually happen is mainly if they're
going to focuses on your sins okay so um that's why the sacraments are very important as well for
gettin
g ready as you questioned before um because they're going to focus on your sin they will know
things about you they will know your fears they will know uh if you done something to somebody
and they will play psychological mind games with you and they could actually project images in
your brain that you can be a man imagine things you can go like crazy from that well you can
go crazy or you can go so fearful or feel so much killed that you're going to stop and you
actually want to run away s
o they want to try as much as possible for keep you not to get them
out of that body they want that body so have you ever like faced off against like a like a stubborn
Spirit or like a demon that doesn't want to get out for I mean for sure demons are not really
known exactly to play nice right so um and again they're going to do anything they can just to stay
in the body I have been spot on puked on Hit And as I mentioned throwing things at me um I heard
all kind of insults and blasphemies
but you know what we have something they done faith God it will
work through you when you pray with faith and make sure that you're you're good and nothing happens
nothing is going to happen to you as long as you are grounded on your faith have you ever been like
uh has it ever gotten to the to the point of where you're so scared that you feel like hey this time
is not going to happen and like I'm going to lose this one to be honest the one that I just told you
that one that one was was rea
lly scary and I was truly I was truly scared and I are I thought we
will not we will be losing it um but with the help of the team again and praying and also with the V
intervention it's not about us it's not about me I mean God work through US yeah but as long as you
are the instrument and the faith is there but that particular one is he okay now he's okay we managed
to BR him into the light and again it was God it was he did he did everything yeah if someone is
dealing with uh demonic stu
ff or if they feel like they're POS essed what advice would you give
him well first thing is first do not panic I know I know it's isier s on it's hard but trust me I
mean panicking is not going to help anyone so I will say call your priest or any religious leader
especially that has experience with fighting with demons because they're going to be able to
help you with prayers counseling and whatever they do do not try to do it on your own because
fighting with demons is hard yeah it's not
easy and they're going to end up hurting themselves
and probably they're going to hurt even more the person possessed so I will say please please
call your priest don't handle it on your own not on your own so you said that that you've been a
priest for what over 25 years 25 years so in that in that length of time how many exorcisms have
you done um I think I lost count but uh I will say over a 100 over 100 wow so you've seen a lot
of like different cases a lot of different stuff so going t
hrough all of this how do you keep your
own sanity how do you keep yourself like mentally healthy it's I mean it's um it's a balance you
need to trust God's plan and suround with people fellow Believers that they will support you
and feed from them feed from their faith as well and um humor doesn't hurt either right
I am uh personally like watching chaplain's movies that okay kind of relax me um but you
know when you are deep down in slaying demons you need to keep a sense of perspective ri
ght
and physically as well so exercise a lot of exercise even running jogging or walking as
I mentioned before if you're are not fit and you're going to be fighting one of these strong
demons you're you're in trouble how do you handle skepticism in today's world the people that don't
believe the people that say that none of this is real H being a skeptic it's okay I mean I mean
everyone has their own beliefs and they are entitled to it I personally try to be humble and
have a lot of patien
ce I tell my stories and then I answer questions but I try to invite people
to see the power of prayers in action because at the end of the day actions is speak louder
than worse and if you seen the power of prayers first hand the skepticism takes the back seat
and to be honest I wish I could bring some of them some of these Skeptics to one of these cases
I guarantee you they will change their mind in a bit yeah absolutely if you were to take them they
would think differently right away pro
bably yeah or either that or they will run out of scare
