Thank you to everyone that supported and participated in the Reimagining Workforce 2023 on 17 May 2023. The event saw more than 500 workforce leaders register to attend or tune in online for a big conversation about big ideas to tackle workforce challenges and seize opportunities. Powered by the Good people. Good jobs: Queensland Workforce Strategy 2022–2032, the event brought together thought leaders, stakeholders and employers to rethink how to attract and retain, and build the diverse, adaptive workforces needed to take on the future. Hosted by journalist and author Madonna King, Queensland Treasurer and Minister for Trade and Investment Cameron Dick MP opened the event which included a thought-provoking keynote address by disability advocate and 2022 Australian of the Year Dylan Alcott AO. A panel discussion followed, hosted by Minister for Employment and Small Business, Minister for Training and Skills Development and Minister for Youth Justice Di Farmer MP, featuring Yurika Executive General Manager Belinda Watton, Better Workplaces Consulting and Advisory’s David Pich and Australian Spatial Analytics CEO Geoffrey Smith. The panel shared rich insights from their own experiences and learnings, from implementing the first four-day week and harnessing the power of neurodiversity through to strategies to achieve gender balance in male-dominated industries. Event attendees then participated in three interactive masterclasses with leading Queensland innovators, who provided practical examples of how they are reimagining their workforces. We’ll be sharing key takeaways and learnings in an event summary soon, but in the meantime you can learn more about the event and its speakers at desbt.qld.gov.au/employment/support-employers/reimagining-workforce-2023.
