from the second you meet Sally Gibney you feel her compassion and her warmth Sally has worn many hats in her life as a wife mother grandmother register nurse entrepreneur TV host and Community leader she's remarkable in many many ways but one of those ways is in making sure that everybody feels that they matter Sally is one of the four finalists for our next star's Nationwide woman of the year the caring coin started with a dream I had oh about 22 years ago and in the dream I was holding a woode
n coin with an Angel and the message you're never alone and Sally brought that dream and its powerful message into reality with her caring coins the important thing is the message of the coins the I matter you matter everyone matters and each of us have so much in common you know today we have this straight line that seems to be dividing us but I believe that a straight line can be become a circle and Sally made it her mission to spread this message to the world over 150,000 caring coins have be
en shared through Sally's incredible you are never alone Foundation that fostered caring connection and hope I carry them with me and I'll say I have something I want to share with you to remind you that you matter and it's it's just amazing how each time there's a story there and the messages that they embody have always been within Sally I was adopted never had a clue what any of my background of my nationality or anything like that so I think that I always not knowing it I just felt I was par
t of everybody we each have that power to make someone else feel good but we have to realize that we matter first and then spread it it's also clear to see that Sally's family is her anchor she lights up talking about her children grandchildren and her beloved late husband Bob he developed ALS and I took care of him and when he became ill I dissolved the foundation because I couldn't take care of him and and continue the foundation but um shortly before he passed hospice said that I could interv
iew him and leave a message for the grandchildren and so I did dear Lily Allan and Wes and now Reay always remember how precious you are be kind and generous reach out to those in need you are part of the human family you will be remembered by your family and others by how you treated and inspired them this will be your legacy I love each of you very much I will always be in your heart these are words Sally Lives by I have to say I feel like I met a lifelong friend in Sally she was absolutely in
credible to meet and her Legacy and message is simple she wants each one of us to know that we matter and it's a message that we're all getting today from a very remarkable woman now for the next two weeks we'll be sharing the stories of other finalists and you can follow right along at wpr .
