ts you gave me hey Emily this is Don Thompson a day is never wasted on Don Thompson this single mother of three spends most of her time focusing on the well-being of others I just love to take care of people and have since I was little so it was no surprise when Don's dream job would align with her passion for people I remember my mom saying you know you should just get your job at a TU Electric or or something like that and I was like but I want to do nails I want to make people feel good and l
ove good despite societal pressures she strived to make her dream a reality I started out as a nailtech I started in a 15x15 room and I just kept growing and then went to get my massage license aesthetician license and I started educating for a spa company and that really led me to go hey I'm traveling teaching other States cities uh places how to open up a spa why don't I do that here in witll Falls which is exactly what she did SP B Bella opened its doors in witch Falls nearly 30 years ago and
has built and maintained a loyal clientele so much so that in 2023 the official community's Choice Awards voted it Texoma's best spa but despite Spa Bella's long-standing success Dawn wanted to make more of an impact about 10 years then I was like I want to help my community because I was just donating to everybody and I was like gosh I'm going to donate myself out of business and I really had to stop and look at had a friend ask me like who do you want to help and I was like I love helping kid
s Don utilized her resources to start various nonprofits including operation kids spa day an annual event aimed to help neglected and lowincome children feel confident before the first day of school they receive free haircuts food and clothing that event led to her creation of adopt box a program that assists nor Texas schools with providing basic necessities ities like hygiene products to students in need the program's impact still proving strong it now serves 21 counties in the area despite he
lping so many in the community there was someone she had yet to bring Comfort or healing to herself in the middle of all that people thought I was really successful and I was Rock Bottom I had just gone through a divorce I had two children um I was a hot mess is what I was hitting her lowest point forced her to confront her demons when I asked myself that really good question is why did you hit rock bottom I was like cuz she didn't know you were enough in the midst of her own emotional healing s
he realized what she was feeling was more common than she realized that prompted her to create the your enough movement its purpose to help change the way people see and value themselves we've been able to work the streets all the way from here to New York here to Vegas we've gone out east out west and we've seen people who we've just walked up to and they're like I was going to kill myself but because of just a urin enough bracelet or just pouring into someone they they just see something diffe
rent like somebody cares through the urin enough movement Don's passion for helping others became stronger than ever it has been a journey over 12 years with year enough it's my purpose Spa Bella the nonprofit it all has a a a a place but I know like I know like I know that I was put here for the year enough movement her purpose resonating with countless people including Elise Carlson a longtime friend and manager of Spa Bella she's amazing um everything she does I love what she does so any step
