Rutgers is redefining the approach to honors education with an inclusive program that welcomes students from all walks of life. Where age is just a number and it doesn't matter where you are in your academic career, whether just starting out or starting over. Our students hail from six continents with 50% joining from our own home community. They come together to live, learn innovate and strive to improve our society. These are the leaders of the future. Many of Rutgers University Honors Living-
Learning Community students have experienced the nation's greatest challenges and inequities first-hand. Every HLLC scholar has not only achieved academic excellence but is also demonstrated a commitment to creating a more just and equitable society. Working with an admissions panel that includes community partners, Rutgers uses a holistic interactive vetting process to select the types of students who will shape our society for the better. As an anchor institution Rutgers is committed to contri
buting to our home city through intentional programs that have a meaningful impact. Along with the required minor and social justice, the HLLC curriculum embeds hands-on coursework in our city by collaborating with community residents, stakeholders and local business partners. Faced with real problems students are envisioning and implementing actual solutions. By adopting this nationally recognized model for honors education, we are not only providing valuable support to our local community but
