Sad reality in the Philippines 🇵🇭 Poverty in Manila

Hello my friends! In this video, I will walk through the biggest slums in Manila. I didn't expect to see so many homeless and beggars in the Philippines. But unfortunately this is the sad reality today in the Philippines. I was staying in the Ermita area in the capital city of Manila and frankly, I was shocked to see how people live there. Their living conditions are just terrible. #philippines #manila #homeless ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Related keywords: slum life in the Philippines homeless in Manila hidden poverty poor people living in poverty dirty slum Manila Philippines street Walk manila Walk poverty in the Philippines biggest slum

No video! Fuck you! Morning my friends! Day 2. Manila. Philippines and you know, actually I was curious yesterday.. why there are no many tourists here in my area at least... and I stayed in this area - Ermita Hello! Morning! Yeah, as I found out later This is not the safest place I mean neighbourhood in Manila city And that's why I was curious yesterday when I arrived from the airport why there are no many tourists here... what's wrong with this? but yeah, anyway I'll be here for 4 days so, yo
u will see many videos from this area... and you know, this is how people live... Exactly like this! Just have a look! Ermita neighbourhood... This is crazy, this is crazy... Omg... And over there on the second floor I saw people yesterday in the evening... I guess they are living there... Private property! yeah, like this! you can see people over there... it's crazy, it's crazy guys... The smell is kind of really bad here... Living conditions leave a lot to be desired... No money, no money... S
orry Yes, it's definitely not very touristy here. The traffic is really busy. but over there it's McDonald's so... I can't imagine how people living under this bridge can afford McDonald's... I just don't understand really Hello man! How are you today? good? Good... Hello man! Are you swimming here? yeah. is this good? It it good to swim? is it good to swim here? I need my money... Okay Money... Hello my friend! I guess these guys don't speak English much he's swimming here... You don't speak En
glish... oh yes just look at this... yeah these guys don't speak English, but somehow he managed to swim over here with all of this rubbish... It's crazy, crazy. okay, thank you man! Anyway my friends… I have no words to be frank… It’s really sad situation here with all this poverty… Show shine repair... On the one hand, I heard that the Philippines is a very poor country, where there are a lot of homeless people, drug addicts, crime on the street, and so on... But, on the other hand, in fact,
even the homeless here are kind and friendly, and no one will rob on the street ... Of course, it depends... and you have to be careful all the time, wherever you go... But that's always the case, in any country, right? At least I spent almost a week in Manila, walking day and night... and nothing happened to me.. . Hello man! I don't have money... Usually I do not give money if I see that a person is not in dire need.

Wow, my wife is Filipino. Wow, to think that her parents made a decision to move to Kauai when she was a toddler. I had a chance to visit some of her relatives, after we got married. They were not rich but they weren't super poor either just kind of poor, I guess. My wife is second generation US citizen. Her family immediate family moved to Kauai during plantation days to work the sugar cane fields in Hawaii. Thank god they moved when they did. My heart breaks for the poor of the Philippines.

And just a couple miles down the road is the sprawling area of the Mall of Asia, casinos, hotels and luxury living. Very broad disconnect. I was also bewildered that the slum is butted right up against the high walls of BFG. A night and day comparison of different lives separated by mere feet.

Some of them are not really from manila,they are from provinces but they choose to travel in manila to earn money,but they dont really know hows life in manila

@jkjatukarn3792

Same world, different life. Thanks for sharing. Hope the government will actually address at the root and eradicate this issue one day.

@justpassingby1094

Sadly most Filipinos turn a blind eye on this and the government honestly is too corrupt to do anything. i think Philippines Will be like this for a long time, Not sure if we can see any changes soon. Just telling the truth.

@mygenshinrecording9623

I see so many people got offended in the comments and comparing it to the situation in the US, etc. I know the Philippines has good sides and beautiful places but I came here because I wanted to see poverty in the Philippines (for research) not the US (not to mention that they aren’t the same) and I’m glad that somebody is filming this side of the country. Of course it happens all over the world (not everywhere is as comparable as this tho) but it is also true that it happens in your country. I don’t really get the comments that keep comparing this to the US or anywhere else, cuz those who wanna see the situation in the US would search for such videos and not be here to begin with.

@irenehillier9444

I grew up and used to live in Malate, which is the area next to Ermita and the level of poverty was nowhere was bad as what's in the video. I've since left the country and migrated overseas. Things haven't improved at all in fact seems to be have gotten worse. Dilapidated buildings and roads in disrepair and rubbish strewn everywhere. And to think Ermita used to be the go-to place for tourists (especially Australians) with the bars and nightclubs.

@anonymuser533

dude,ermita and malate is full with tourists..many hotels restaurants and bars.there is a huge park and the roxas boulevard

@donmorelos5788

Poverty is a worldwide issue. I understand that it needs to be addressed. Though poverty in a third world country is rather more acceptable and/or less surprisingly than in rich countries in the world. Try to help clean your backyard first before others and thank you for your concerns, sir.

@JulieGrampon-ww5um

I learned that during the pandemic government offers help,cash assistance for those who wanted to go back to province but they didn't cooperate.This street dwellers are hard headed sometimes.they think living in city is good even if they dont have assurance like what kind of work they can do for a living..

@cebecanom

now that you have highlighted in vivid detail the bad side of Manila, its time for you now to feature the good side of Manila.

@user-vn6do6yv6o

#AlexMur you're the eyes for the people beyond Philippines, Good job. informative and well made episode. Thanks

@ediseu6693

You can find poverty everywhere in any country. Even in America, there's a lot of poverty, especially now that people are sleeping in the street😊

@ironwolph

Trip out I walked that same area. My hotel was right there. I walked it at 2am and gave out some money to beggars. Felt great.

@oceanearth2243

Ermita and intramuros are fun spots to explore.

@JohnSmith-bz9be

Yeah, it is really sad seeing that, especially the young children...

@4164139208

Why focus on the poverty, the homeless people in Manila? Why can't tourists study the areas they're visiting before booking their accommodation. Ermita used to be a prime neighborhood half a century ago. So are you shocked? I once spent a night in Frankfurt, and getting there I was surrounded by hookers, druggies, and what nots. I've been to Russia in Chelyabinsk, I can say the same things. Anyway, yeah it's a problem - homelessness, poverty etc. Try San Francisco, Detroit, etc. Find something more pleasant to think and write about.

@20sasrog06may27

everywhere there's have poverty even here in the US lots of homeless people on the street.
