So the Unpacked event scheduled to take place
on the 26th of July is jampacked this year. Samsung will launch 7 devices at the event
which include their new foldables, their new smartwatches, and of course the new tablets
including the top of the line Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. And today we have our very first look at the
Tab S9 Ultra courtesy of Onleaks and his cad renders. And as you can see, it looks pretty much identical
to its predecessor except for the camera layout which now looks like the one
on their latest
flagship phones with individual camera lenses. But apart from that everything else looks
pretty much the same. The screen size, thickness, and weight are
also similar. However, the Tab S9 Ultra will bring two key
changes. One is a new display. Although the resolution will remain the same,
it will feature a drastically improved display this time as it will feature a 120% DCI-P3
color gamut coverage. Simply put, DCI P3 is a wider color standard
than sRGB as you can see in this grap
h and the advantage of this over regular sRGB display
is that it shows 25% more colors. So the games and especially the HDR content
look so much better on this display. The second big upgrade the tablet will get
is the IP68 water-resistant rating so you can continue using the tab in the rain or
take it swimming and it will work absolutely fine. Of course, the Tab S9 Ultra will also get
a new chipset the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, and faster UFS 4.0 storage speeds. The RAM will go up to 16GB.
However, the biggest upgrade to the Tab S9
Ultra will come in the form of software as Google is finally pouring some serious energy
into building the Android experience for tablets as the Android 14 is expected to bring some
huge upgrades to take advantage of those big displays. For example, Google has created development
templates on how app UI scaling works on large screens, and it can adjust accordingly when
the orientation switches between portrait and landscape usage which means the majori
ty
of Android apps on the tablets will no longer look like a stretched mess. Android 14 will also let users run multiple
instances of the same application, separated across different windows. Google is also trying to emulate a true computing
experience by letting apps support keyboard shortcuts that are in line with what you get
on Windows or macOS. Google is also prioritizing “desktop-style
menus and context menus” wherever deemed fit. So basically, Google is making it clear that
they are in to
play the long game with the tablets and make the best mobile OS for large
screens. The Tab S9 Ultra will get all these features,
of course. But users won't be able to enjoy them right
away as it is launching with Android 13. It will get Android 14 later in the year. But rest assured Samsung will try to emulate
some of these features if not all with their new OneUI skin on top. Of course, let me know your thoughts down
in the comments and I'll see you tomorrow...peace out

I love how this guy just breaks down the whole story 😂
the fact that Samsung is continuously improving to please us is unmatched
Glad Google is finally taking Tablets seriously
I initially loved my Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra more than my iPad 12" pro, because besides being more fun to use and having a bigger display; in the beginning from the first day I had purchased it, I was able to directly 'mirror' my Tab S8 Ultra display's lush 120Hz refresh rate straight to my externally connected Samsung Neo QLED 50" TV's didplay at the same eye stroking silky smooth 120Hz refresh rate which was simply devine (via HDMI 2.1 connection with TV in Game Mode). Naturally this fantastic advantage and benefit meant that I also experienced ultra low almost non-existent latency (with TV in Game mode). One can not express enough how advantageous this is and for me personally is better than using DEX mode, which uses more resources having to render two different display outputs at once. Personally I don't like DEX and find there's slightly more processing power and resources when using direct mirror mode. Then tragically after a number of months Samsung sudenly broke that with UI 5 and it never was fixed. All subsequent minor incremental updates to UI 5 have failed to fix the issue. So disappointed was I with the problem and waiting a long time for it to be fixed, regrettably I grew tired of waiting and begrudgingly sold my S9 Ultra to a 2nd hand store. Extremely disappointed and one wonders if the same problem will be present on the upcoming S9 Ultra - though it should have been fixed on the S8 Ultra.
Samsung need to release some pro desktop apps they can’t keep living off dex it’s not enough
This looks amazing, I’m needing a new tablet/Laptop-Tablet and I was torn between a Surface Pro 9 or a S8+, but the rumored specs on this S9 seem amazing.
GETTING IT 🎉🎉🎉
Had not thought about buying a tablet until earlier today and quickly decided on the S8. Will wait to hear more about this for sure before fully making the purchase.
Nice review, Sal. I'm really considering switching to a Samsung tablet next year when my Acer Chromebook 5 year Google support runs out. Always been a big Note fan and really like that S Pen support.
I wish there were more watch 6 leaks
Finaly this was some much needed news Thanks Sal🤗🤗🤗
Are the Tab 9 line up having SD memory card???
I am a Android fan but we need a magic keyboard like the iPad
Can you make a video covering everything leaked so far that'll come during the July/August Unpacked event?
Samsung flagship tablets are already good, 8 Gen 2 and Tablet optimised Android will make them god tier
Samsung needs to be able to improve editing /rendering speeds to compete with ipad pros
Those are very solid improvements!
Woooh 🎉, Samsung my all around tech company
Last time used this tab(s8 ultra) was for watching Netflix and it lasted more than i thought it would be
'What does that even mean?' lol....he read my mind!
