popular museum is taking kids back in time to learn more about local history workers there say students love their informative field trips and getting a chance to see history come to life Levan is here with more on the educational attraction L Li great of Boston starts with teaching kids about the history of their towns and the towns around them Massachusetts was at the center of many of this country's beginnings and in Webster Samuel Slater saw a lake and thought he can make a difference for ev
eryone going forward it's the lake in Webster Mass Metts that gave Samuel Slater the idea for water power okay so the name of the lake is Lake Char gagag man chog chaban gangam mug industrialist Samuel Slater was at the center of the Industrial Revolution here in New England and about two years ago Christopher Roberts wanted to make sure every fifth grader in the state knew of his work so my goal was to figure out how I could educate them excite them and still teach them what happened many many
years ago when I first came to this par of Massachusetts the Samuel Slater experience is a museum that documents everything Samuel Slater now this place is an absolute hit among the little ones the joy is just watching the kids if you you could come here and watch the class go through they go crazy it is so much fun to see the kids reaction you'll walk up on the ship and they'll be like you'll hear the jaw you'll literally hear their jaws dropping what makes the Slater experience wonderful is it
's interactive more than 60 days of this the ships tell stories allo as do the trolleys and the theaters I basically remember taking my kids to Disney and seeing the Hall of Presidents and I wanted to use that kind of technology to excite the children and let them leave here remembering everything they saw knowledge is power and the Samuel Slater experience is building fond memories I've had kids tell me this is the best field trip they've ever been on and I've got actual like cards and fan mail
from some of the local students saying how this is the best field trip they've been on it was awesome interaction here is the key as we were doing the interview I was getting dumped on by water because of simulation from the boat ride and then when the trolley started they were yelling all aboard and we stopped interview for a couple of minutes but LEM and Kate those little items make the Samu old Slater experience fantastic they keep the kids engaged and by doing that they retain and learn and
they hear Levan yell and they all pay attention yes Le gets them all in line they need to record your voice for that give you a little conductor's hat I don't want to scar children and and overalls too that are striped thank you l
