The important thing about festivals like this is the interaction between people Of course it’s not something you can do by yourself There's something special about creating something with your friends. So for the Sanriku International Arts Festival, I think that’s one of its defining features. For
people coming in from the outside, how we can get them involved in the local community. or give them a taste of local food
And through things like artist residencies artists can come in to the local area and produce works
We can even take these opportunities and provide them to artists from overseas

though the taiko drum is an instrument, it's also a tool for conveying our wishes and feelings so I performed with massive sound, with the hope of reaching those out at sea It's one part of creating a community, as a tool, or kind of item, and I’m envious of how well established the art form has become but more than anything else, I just find it amazing. When, and who, came up with such a performing art and how much genius they must have had It's a type of performing art that exists in everyday
life, something stage performers can't replicate
I'm deeply moved by it and I find it incredibly wonderful to aspire to, thinking like “that dance is so cool” or “I want to try performing”
