well Rick toet said this week Ron that he's banged up and battling something and basically it's it's an injury that's being managed on a day-to-day basis evaluate on a day-to-day basis I understand there's an appointment next week where they're going to try to sort this all but right now lyol is playing through it but hopefully they'll get some clarity on what exactly is bothering him next week so he can get back to full health it felt like a really good week of hockey talk the GMS meetings Elli
ot and one of the stories that flew under the radar but his gaining steam again it's been percolating for a year is CAA Division 1 hockey and the restrictions yes so this is one thing that's starting to filter out now that we've left is that the NHL did give the general managers an update on the future of the NCAA and CHL uh relationship and what we understand is that they were told that the NCAA is actively considering removing all restrictions for CHL players to play in the NCAA after their CH
L careers are done now we don't know is the timeline we don't know 100% that's going to happen but basically the managers were told the NHL is preparing for it and they should be prepared for the possibility of it too now that could affect a lot of things the NHL CHL agreement also for example if you get drafted from the Canadian hockey league NHL teams hold your rights for two years if you get drafted out of the USHL or the NCAA they hold the rights for four years so all of that would have to b
e collectively bargain with the players but Ron there's no question that this is now on the NHL's radar and it could be a very big change it's a huge one and you also with Jeff Merck on 32 thoughts the podcast spoke about the GMS and they're wanting to be in the loop one way or another and and on supplementary discipline was a really fascinating talk you had but this time it's on the rules and it's the offside so go ahead on that yeah so basically the players are so skilled now they're so incred
ible and hold it for a second Brian but they're they're so good at what they do that it's lead leading to more debate about what offside possession and control can look like and what they asked for is interpret ations how do you interpret these plays and should they be ruled as onside or offside and we've got six for you here the first four are on side these plays the manager said should be considered onside the last two are offside so this is onside as well onside here namestnikov and these are
examples of plays that should be offside I think that one's pretty obvious loses control of the puck here's one at real speed so you can see the pass this is kerfoot they feel that that is not possession in control that is offside so we'll post these so people can take more of a look at it but when we're now looking ahead to offside reviews which are going to be so important as we finish the season and go into the playoffs those are the kinds of interpretations the league and the managers [Musi

When this video started I thought Elliott had a cigarette

@SouPNaZi316

so they wanna make offsides not offside? wtf?

@seanragsdale5636

So what’s causing the change of heart in terms of the NCAA/CHL restriction?

@RyanLuca581

why dont they just keep it simple. You can't back into the zone and the puck crosses the line first

@MbisonBalrog

Just rest bring back for yoffs. How hard?

@MbisonBalrog
