Scanning a room with magicplan: a touch-less experience

Today scanning a room with magicplan is truly a touch-less experience. All you need to do is move your camera and magicplan will do the rest - there's no need to tap any buttons. The app will automatically detect and add corners of a room – even if they are fully obstructed. All of this thanks to the corner detection feature powered by artificial intelligence. Windows and doors can also be detected just by aiming at them with your smartphone. Learn more here: www.magicplan.app More than 20 million downloads. Used by professionals all around the world.

Hello everyone my name is Sabrina and I'm part of the magicplan team Today is a very exciting day for us! In the next two minutes I will show you the latest improvements we have made to the AR room scan – available on iOS devices The new room scan is a completely touchless experience No need to tap any buttons All you need to do is move your camera through a room The app will automatically detect the corners To set the room height, you simply tilt up to the ceiling By aiming at doors or windows
the app will also detect, place and size them When you're done the result is a fully dimension sketch, including all windows and doors If you switch into elevation view, you'll see that windows and doors have been positioned and sized correctly on all walls By using the object menu you can add more items to your sketch to finish the room If you have multiple rooms, you can assemble them to a complete floor plan And that's all there is to it! By tapping on the icon below you can view your sketch
in 3D or generate a brandable PDF The PDF includes your finished floor plan, all dimensions as well as individual rooms and elevations

Honestly I've never been so excited about an app! Except maybe Google Maps. :)

@techingo1

Where is this option! I have 9.1.2 version and it doesn’t appear like you mention it!

@doodifiedJonny

I do alot of Commercial office spaces and tried using it to make room plans, but stuggle to do partition walls for rooms within the app. Would invest more if I could easily do partition walls in rooms

@j.luisortega

Is this available now ? I’m currently using the app. Do I need to do an update.

@williamcousert

Can I export 3D plans as FBX or OBJ files for use in Blender or Unreal Engine?

@Greenmarty

It definitely doesn't work (like in video )for me. App never detects 1st corner no matter the room or building. I have to aim above/bellow/right or left to trick app to seeing corner where it isn't, then press corner button and move super fast back into corner real corner so it's in right place. Rest of corners work good because there's already button for adding corners manually on screen.

@baldeagle8500

In android there is no ar scan why ?

@steveteare3865

I'm using this now and it works surprisingly well, even for rooms (like most) that have obstructions preventing the corners being visible. The only thing I don't like is the 'touch-less' experience, because I find I am fighting against the software, because it guesses (makes an calculated estimate) of where the corner is that I then have to undo so I can choose where the corner is myself. Is there a setting I can make to switch this to manual (i.e. not touch-less)? Thanks

@EMT0210

I tried to used this app on my android phone but everything is in landscape mode and it's hard to set up the account.

@aljamesproductions

1. How does it detect corners where there is furniture in the way? 2. Are you developing this app for use with lidar scanner in the new iPad?

@AgenziaBenettiVigevano

Incredibile, il migliore

@rolando.marquez

¡Lo máximo!

@MariadeJesusGutierrez

Does anyone know of an app that allows you to use the ceiling, where there isn't any furniture blocking the rooms corners, instead of the floor?

@finns1846

Does this require a phone with the ability to scan? i.e. an android phone with ARCore?

@buhadiyah4181

Luar biasa

@Lokkee929

Kann man auch Schräge im Dachgeschoss erfassen in der App?

@timkropf4648

Will these features work with an Android tablet or only an iPad?
