While he was charging 40 we would've gone with him. Whatever you go! Scammer, scammer! This lady told me she is a drug dealer. Where will you sleep now? Okay I close the door. But where will you sleep? You! We're in the police station in Tonga We just came from the airport and got scammed. We now came to the police station. Now I'm sure the house is full of such people. Full of drug addicts! A drunk man came to us. We couldn't see anything in the dark. Have to stay awake! Will have to be up, ca
n't sleep. Yes friends, it's our last day in Samoa today. We're in Apia, capital city. We checked out from the hotel had food and returned back the car to the car rental. Now we're going to the airport for our next country which is Tonga. Our flight is from Fiji, so we'll be going to Nadi. We've our next flight from Nadi to Tonga's capital Tongatapu. We spent a week in Samoa. I'll tell you an interesting fact about Samoa the average body weight of a man here is 103 kg. The average weight of a
male in India is 65 kgs. You saw how big people are here through my videos. Average weight for women here is maybe 87 kgs. So, they're quite big in size. And it's not that they're fat. You'll think its an obese country and they eat processed food. Of course the new generation or the kids do but that's the case in India too as kids eat processed & canned food. But the elders here are strong. They are natural weight lifters & are quite strong. They're fat but strong. I saw a 45-50 yrs old man in
gym and he was bench pressing with 140 kgs. He was doing non-stop reps. I've done this 1-2 times in my life and that too just to do a rep. He might be enhanced, or might be taking performance enhance drugs. But he was still very strong. Let's get in the taxi & go to the airport. We've reached airport & we gave 70 Tālā ($25.21) for one way. Roughly 2100 INR. See how old these trolleys or carts are. But it's fine. It's not like Europe where you put a coin to get it. It's atleast free. Nice! Let
's take the flight and say goodbye to this country. This is the airport although there's another one but its not operational. Only this is operational. Okay, goodbye Samoa. Just got done with immigration and all We're waiting for the flight now. We've not got the gate number for the flight from Samoa to Tonga. Tonga is another country in Polynesia lying in Oceania continent. Its a very small country & not a big one. Its the only country of the Pacific Ocean that follow monarchy. It still has a
king who rules or dictates the country. If we talk about Tonga's visa then its quite complicated. It has embassies in just 4-5 countries. You can get visa by either going to the embassy in Australia, New Zealand, US, Dubai, etc. Or you can email any of these embassy and you've to transfer 69 AUD to them to the bank account they provide. After transferring the amount they send you a visa document online. You've to print that out like I have now. The document looks like this. After printing this
, you can directly enter. Samoa had visa on arrival. And mostly countries here have visa on arrival or small countries offer visa on arrival. But some require visa. Then taking their visa... Its usually for the Indians as Americans & Europeans have on arrival. So its quite complicated as no one visit these countries so getting information gets difficult. If any of you plan to go then you can directly mail the embassy and get your visa & it takes 10-15 days to process. We're waiting for the flig
ht now. Navankur's also with me. We took a flight from Samoa and have reached Fiji. We'll be flying from Fiji to Tonga. We've 3-4 hours layover here. Our flight to Tonga is at 10 pm. While we were waiting the airline staff came and asked if we'll go to Tonga and asked us to check-in the bag. We felt weird but he was a staff from Fiji airlines and was from Fiji. If you've seen my videos from Fiji you'll know that Hindi is one of the official language here. People speak Hindi here. So he came l
ike that we're not used to it here so we felt weird and funny. But we got a bag checked in even though we didn't have a check in bag But they said its to make space in overhead compartment so asked those to check in who have more than one cabin bag. We'll now take the flight to Tonga. This is the arrival card of Tonga. Welcome to Tonga which is maybe my country number 66. Its 1 am so we landed late and we don't have a hotel for the night. I came out from the back gate since my seat was behind
As Navankur is travelling with me I was waiting for him. Everyone came out except Navankur so I think he left before me. And I'm the last one now. This is the arrivals of Tongatapu airport. Capital city of Tonga! We got done with immigration & customs as we came out. There's no sitting area and we've the area outside the airport here. There was no common area to sit. We don't have a hotel for tonight. We came out on the road directly. Can't do anything now. A car rental is open there we'll ask t
he rate & check if we can get a car. Let's see if anything else is open. All cars are booked out at Avis. Let's see if sim-card outlet is open. Digicel is open, come. Here's Western Union, Digicel, & one more SIM card operator. Digicel is best in these countries. Oh no, it's closed. This is the currency of Tonga and is called Paʻanga. This is a 50 Paʻanga note ($20.92) 1 USD has I think 2.37 Paʻanga as far as I know and 1 Paʻanga has 36 INR. I'll add exact one on the screen. I don't clearly r
emember & I would've checked online but even internet isn't working. But it should be this. ATM was there. Navankur got the SIM card & I didn't as they didn't have e-sim like always. Got stuck! America model of iPhone troubles a lot. Fiji's currency is almost this rate. 1 Fiji dollar has roughly 36 INR ($0.44) Tonga Paʻanga is also the same. They're similar. But sim and internet in Fiji was cheap. How much did it cost here? 30 $... no 33 for a SIM card and ... 33 Tonga Paʻanga ($13.81)? Yes, a
SIM card for 3 Paʻanga ($1.26) comes with 4 Gb internet. We should've taken a SIM card only then. Yes, we could've taken 2 SIM cards. One for me... We could've taken 5-6. This is wrong. Wrong right? A SIM card costs 3 Paʻanga ($1.26) comes with 4 gb free internet. Dollar means Paʻanga. Paʻanga is also called dollar here. Currency of these countries is used interchangeably with dollar too. But that's not US dollar but the local currency dollar. 3 Tonga Paʻanga means... In 108 INR you get 4 gb int
ernet and you can even top-up more. How much did we got it for? For 30 Paʻanga ($12.55) We recharged it for 30 Paʻanga ($12.55) or 1080 INR. We've got 15 Gb...? 10 GB! 10 Gb internet sorry. 4 gb was free, so 14 gb total. That's it... 100 INR per gb. I had Iphone 12 pro max and was Dubai model. I left it in India as it wasn't working. While my iPhone 14 pro is American model. Never purchase America model especially if you travel. Its different if you'll live in America Don't think of getting thi
s to save some money as it doesn't accept physical sim & only e-sim works. The lady at Samoa deleted my e-sim too. I gave her the phone to put the sim but she deleted my Indian Airtel sim. I can't receive OTP or get bank statement neither I can login as they need OTP. It's so troublesome and I can't buy a sim in any country. This works with physical sim so I use hotspot of this by putting sim in it. But now this phone is also not starting. So just Navankur got a sim. Will figure where to stay to
night and how to go about it. The airport got empty in just a while. Airport shuttle, gift shops... These are sign boards here. Let's ask a taxi driver to drop us somewhere. Get us a stay anywhere. We could've slept here, if we had a blanket. Our hotel's booked from tomorrow but not for tonight. We booked from the next day. No hotel is available online. So, we'll ask someone to drop us at a hotel for tonight. Same thing happened in Samoa with us. Hotel was booked from tomorrow & we had no plac
e for the night. We snuggled a lot there. A taxi driver came and said there's just one taxi left. Then this airport service man asked us to follow him. Let's go if he's calling us. I think he's going back home. I think he works at the airport and doesn't seem like a taxi driver. He said he'll drop us. I think we shouldn't pay him much... I think he's going back home. So, this taxi... we asked the airport service man to drop us He was interested as he was going home. We told him we don't have
reservation for tonight and asked him to drop us at some hotel. I told him we'll pay him and not to drop us off at the road. We should get a room in the hotel. If we don't get at the first one, we'll go the other one. He agreed to take us and would drop us at a hotel room. He asked for 70 Pa'anga($29.29) but agreed at 60 Pa'anga ($25.11) It's roughly 2100 INR. Tonga's capital or the Tongatapu island main area is Nuku'alofa. That's the downtown and has all the hotels. It's roughly 21-22 km fro
m the airport. So, its costing us 2100 INR ($25.27) Everyone in Pacific countries think we're from Fiji & not from India. More than 1/3rd of the Fiji population are Indo Fijians. People think we're Indo-Fijians basically Indians who came to Fiji and settled there. There're many such people But then we tell we're actually Indians they think how & why we've come from so far. We've to explain then. If you see the map for Samoa, Fiji and Tonga then Samoa is in north, Fiji in the south-west, and Ton
ga in the south. The 3 countries form a triangle. Fiji is a bit far. Samoa lies to the north We've come from Samoa via Fiji by going to the West then came towards east from Fiji to Tonga. They don't have direct flight unlike before by the Tonga Airlines that operated directly from Samoa. But that airline became bankrupt hence stopped operations. The only way to come here's via Fiji now. There're no direct flights. We've come to Tanoa hotel the most expensive hotel here. I'll tel you the taxi dr
iver is foolish This is the most expensive hotel of the country & we asked him to bring us to such a place and to take us to a cheap place. He said we'll get a cheap room or a hostel. How would we as everything's closed at night. He brought us & said to stay here. I went to ask the rate so it costs 450 Pa'anga for a night. ($188) It is roughly equal to 20,000 INR. 17-18,000 maybe. Checkout is 7 hours from now. We pay 18000 INR ($188) to sleep for 7 hours. I denied staying here and asked to tak
e us back we'll instead sleep on a bench at airport. We're not mad. Came to another place, let's ask the rate here too. Its all chaos as we're not finding anything We came here... they don't know English so they called the owner. The owner asked if we have a booking. We denied and he said they can't give a room. Asked us to go from the hotel. We're totally stuck. There's police station here. Cops home! We can ask him to drop us there. We'll just sleep there. There's no point and nothing's avail
able. The only place that is costs 17,000 INR ($188) for 7 hours. That would be the biggest foolishness. Let's try at the last place too. It's a guest house. Hello! Hello! Can't see anyone inside. It seems closed as well. Never trust taxi drivers, right? This is a rule globally. Everything is closed and it's 3 am right now. How would we find anything. We knew we won't find anything as everything was booked out online. Nothing's open during the day here forget about the night. Yeah everyone's sl
eeping. We've stopped at some deserted place here. Don't know what's happening. We're trying here too. Navankur has got down. 2 ladies are standing there you might not be able to see it but she's helping us find. We're on the road & a cat's dead here. Its dark. We've stopped here and trying! Honked a lot here there's maybe an accommodation here. With us... we have the driver. Then his wife and I think a friend of hers they called who's helping. Let's see, something's written here. Lose'o Vava'
u! Don't know, maybe a guesthouse. This is also closed. Anyone came? We've checked almost entire country and checked everything but all hotels, guesthouse, lodges are full. Just one place that you also know was so expensive. So this is a part of travelling. All these situations also occur especially in such countries that are very non-touristy. Coming here at such a time... We can't do anything We aren't at fault as nothing's available online. We wanted to book in advance. Flight lands at such
a time that even if we want to we can't organise all of this. We asked him to take us to the police station We'll either sleep or just wait there. Difficult to sleep! Will just sit and pass the night & figure out in the morning. Will have to spend the night without resting. Is this the police station? Very fancy! Looks better than Indian police station. Yes. See, this is our last hope. We're at Central Police Station. We came to the police station but met 3-4 people outside. We thought they wou
ld be criminals as you usually find them. But this lady told us she'll take us to a place where we can find a bed for the night. Will go and check. The place is in front of the hotel we've booked tomorrow. We told her everything's closed but she said she'll help us find a place. Let's see as we were ready to wait here. But it's great if we find a place. Don't be like that to the foreign people. This man is a ... Where's your taxi sign? Right? I want to take you to the police station. Right! I'm
in Justice, don't be like that to the foreign... Whatever but you... Tomorrow we'll submit this video to police station. Will have to pay her now. Will give it to her. Wait we'll go to the police. He has come back. Got scammed on the first night in Tonga. This man is so bad. See the car number! Look! C36996 Don't be like that with the foreign people. You said you were helping us by not taking us to the taxi driver while he was charging 40. We would have gone with him. You said for only 60! Okay
? Whatever, you go! I'll report you to the police. We'll submit the video to the police. See he is not a private. This man was so foolish and bad. Like you saw in the video. I did wrong by not showing his face when I should have. I should have shown his face. I didn't thinking he's an old man and is being troubled due to us. He agreed to charge us with 60 Pa'anga($25.11). He's coming from the back. He... We talked to him & finalised at 60 Pa'anga ($25.11) but he said he'll charge 80 ($33.48) on
coming here. On coming here, he said he'll take 80 Pa'anga. and we asked why. I told you earlier in the video too we tell everything clearly. I asked him to not drop us at the road and can charge 60 Pa'anga ($25.11). He asked for 70 ($29.29) but we finalised at 60 and asked him to drop us at the hotel. He doesn't have a taxi and is earning. It's a private car & he doesn't have a permit for taxi. He had to come back to his home. He was earning for free hence agreed to take us. We asked him to dr
op us at the hotel. I'm working in justice... This lady helped us. She offered us to spend the night at her house. She scolded the driver a lot. She abused and scolded the driver. We denied to pay him 80 Pa'anga ($33.48) so we started to fight but she said she'll pay. So she paid him the 20 Pa'anga ($8.37) and we asked why she's paying. There's no point. We'll pay her as she helped us but that man was surely foolish. Why did he even bring us as he lives here, won't he know everything will be clo
sed. We as a foreigner knew it would be closed and thought to sleep at the airport. Why did he bring us. He told us we'll easily find a place & hell drop us. I thought its good if he can and will pay if he drops us off at the right place. Dropped us at the road & demanded 80 Pa'anga ($33.48). Why should we pay! Had a bad experience right on coming. There's a rule for sure, I'll tell you to never trust taxi drivers. It's a global rule. He wasn't a taxi driver either. But you'll find people like
this. Even if they're nice they'll think of their benefit. They won't think of helping you. We're at the police station now. Hey,can you send me the number? The car number? The car number! Okay We'll also complaint for the taxi driver here. We're in the police station in Tonga. We came from the airport & got scammed right on coming. We've come to the police station now. The number... Yeah! A police officer (lady) came... the lady with us knew them so she explained them... They're talking in t
he local language I can't understand it. But this lady asked us to sleep the night at her house for free. The taxi driver asked her to charge us. Charge us with 100-150 ($41-60) She just told us about it that he said this in the local language. We've come to the lady's house as she offered us to stay here. Be quiet, quiet. It broke. Left? Left... Where? Come here. Oh baby! There're dogs below this? Puppies? Where did she bring us. We'll get so many diseases here. It's all dirt below, animal sh
*t... This is the place where she brought us. There's garbage and... Where did we come! Look at the place! I've seen bad places but not a place like this ever. See, it broke when I stood on it. It smelling so badly of alcohol and drugs, cigarettes... And this lady told me that she's a drug dealer. She just told me. You know what I thought? What? You stepped on sh*t. No - no ... See cigarette boxes, liquor bottles... I'm looking for a nice and cheap one. That $25 hotel was full? See someone cam
e here and ... This is alcohol. This is beer. Because everytime I come... Who sleeps here? Who sleeps here usually? Where will you sleep now? Where will you sleep now? You sleep here, I close the door. But where will you sleep? You! Me? I'm just going to the police station because I am a security. Drugs and addiction affect people like how this lady was. I'll tell you what all happened. So we're at some unknown house in a big lawn under a tree. You saw the conditions of that room. I don't think
there could be a bad room than that in the world. You may not have seen much in the video but if you inhale the smell that was there your nose... even if its blocked would open. Drugs impact a person like this lady was. She was high on drugs. We doubted in the beginning that she's high. But when we talked she said she works in the prime ministers office, then said she's a police officer, then said she has an NGO, then said she's a security advisor and even said she's the queen of Tonga. Then fi
nally told us she's a drug dealer. The lady told me. Only that resonated the most to me out of police, queen, PM's office... Nothing else resonated as I have experience of travelling the world, meeting and talking to different people. I've seen how people behave due to drugs. So, I understood what she's high on so I named a few drugs & asked if she knew. She knew all & said she gets them and deals in them. Said her fiancée is jailed due to drugs. her boyfriend and what not. She said she finds a
dvocates for them so she gets them for free. I asked what she did today. So she named the one stating with 'c' you would know about it. It's quite popular in the western countries. She said she did that today. She was thinking & said things that made no sense. Its 4 am now and we're stuck in some unknown house here. There're 3 dogs and family inside. Don't know what will happen if they come out. Don't know anything for now. It's all out of place right now. They asked us to sleep under this tre
e and this is a hammock here. She said she knows the people living here and I am sure that this house is full of such people... Drug addicts! Navankur come here, see this. Get out as soon as you can from here don't know... this looks like weed to me. Something's mixed in this. It has tobacco mixed with some drugs. And see these spots on the hammock we didn't see this before. Don't know if it's vomit or what. Or it's something else. This place doesn't look nice to me. This was the house and we we
re near the hammock in the lawn. These dogs were inside the house. When we were with the lady they didn't do anything Then she went & we were left behind. When we made a move they attacked us. The three of them started barking and came close to the calf. We slowly moved, didn't run, still they were very near us. They could've bit us. We came out of this door. If we go back in the dogs will surely bite us. This place seems better now as it is Australian Biometric Collection Centre. This place s
hould be safer. This might be confusing for you so I'll revise what happened till now. We went to Fiji from Samoa and came to Tonga from Fiji. We landed at Tonga airport & didn't find a taxi. Than a man who worked at airport. offered to drop us We agreed at 60 and told him we didn't have a stay for the night. Our hotel's booked from tomorrow so asked to drop us at a place for the night and he agreed. We told him to not drop us at the road but at a hotel. But he dropped us in the middle of th
e road. He demanded more money & we fought with him. We met a women outside the police station as we asked the driver to drop us there instead of the road. She offered to get us a place. We and the lady shouted on the driver. We even fought with him. She offered us to stay for free at her place. You saw the house it was like the a house of drugdealers you see in movies. We stayed there. We didn't stay as got shocked seeing the condition Sleeping was far off in sight you can't stand there for 5
seconds. It broke as we stepped on it, drugs and other things all around. If you get caught it's another thing. She then took us to the lawn as we denied staying inside. You even saw the condition of the lawn We somehow managed to come out. We'll find a place to spend the night. Look, we've found a place. Although it's a slab. But found a nice place. A man who's high is over there We aren't able to see who's coming due to the dark. But it was him. He suddenly came to us & turned back. Luckily we
were awake. Will have to stay awake! Will have to stay awake, can't sleep. So what happened was we were sleeping there on the rock slab. It was actually a bakery. Bakery staff came in the morning. It is 6 am right now. The bakery staff came around 5:45. The bakery opens around 7 am maybe. Uhm it's a cafe and not a bakery. They get things from this bakery. So they came and woke us and asked why we're sleeping there. They thought we're from security or something. Then we told them about our situa
tion. Then she said sorry for waking us up. They gave us water and helped us out. They asked us about what all happened and told they're going to the bakery to get bread. I asked if I could go with them as it'll be like an outing. There were 3 girls & one of them was the cleaner. There were 2 more girls who worked there. One of them had to come to the bakery. She brought me with her & we're getting bread from here. This is a bakery since 1893. This is the girl. I got 4 chocolate donuts that c
osted me 6 Tonga Pa'anga ($2.51) Hence, for 210-220 INR. Got 4 of them for roughly 200 INR! 2 for each of us or 3 for me and 1 for Navankur. This girl offered to pay. She was so nice! But I didn't let her. But she helped a lot. See the coincidence. The song that's playing in the car is my favourite English song. It was playing in the car. Amazing! This is our chocolate donut. It has a nice taste and just costs 50 INR ($0.60) We got it directly from the bakery. We noticed that people wake up ear
ly here. It's just 6:30 am, yet you can find people outside. When I was stuck in a similar situation in Nicaragua border a boy got a bottle of water for me. He offered me water since I was stuck there. That moment I felt as if that boy was like god to me. It felt like that. When people help in such moments it feels so good. Almost same happened now too. They first took us to the bakery and offered to pay for whatever we want. Over there I managed to pay. Here they asked which coffee would we ha
ve They're famous for coffee & called Coffee Post in Tonga. I asked to give whatever they have. They served us coffee and when I went to pay they denied to accept the money. They said it is on them as we were troubled through the night. Amazing! This place is called Coffee Post. Even though it opens at 7 am and its just 6:15 right now, people have started to come and order. They are very sweet people. Do write a review for them on Google & write thank you to them if you get time. Coffee Post i
n Tonga. See they served on their own without charging. Thank you so much. Really appreciate it. The beauty of this place enhanced on sunrise. Look at the amazing clouds & buildings. This building has I think Friends cafe & tourist information centre. It's also a popular place here. They're basically competitors. Friends cafe & Coffee Post where we were. Look how crowded its in the morning. People have been coming at 7 am. It was all so quite a few hours back. It feels better in the morning. See
there're some foreigners too here. They're doing running. Some came at the coffee shop. Its a small country so I asked the girl at Coffee Post if this area is the best place here. So she said since its a small country they consider this area as their town. This is like a town square. We can't call this neighbourhood either. This will be called a town square. But she said the area around this is like a small town. Just this area as she told me. They consider this place as the town and can be cal
led as the downtown or the main square near downtown. So the Downtown area of Nuku'alofa Tonga's captain in Tongatapu. I've to talk and tell you a lot of things about this country that we'll discuss in the other videos. But for now the update is we're waiting for the hostel we booked to open. Once it opens, we'll go check-in. But anyways one thing's for sure. You can not trust taxi drivers a lot. But if you see, we met nice people. Our bad experiences weren't because of the people. We argued wit
h the driver who charged us more. We met that lady but maybe she was mentally unstable, or on drugs. That's a different thing. But she tried to help us. She tried and out in efforts from her side. She took us to the place, no matter how bad it was. She offered us to stay so that don't get troubled. She fought with the driver for us. Then the staff at Coffee Post helped us a lot. So I won't like to say anything against the people I won't say people were at fault for our bad experiences. No they w
eren't. Even we weren't. Nothing was available here and we had no choice. You face some trouble the first night in a new country no matter how prepared you are. The first day goes like this due to the new currency, being clueless if cash or card is accepted, don't have SIM card, The first day is usually complicated in new country no matter how much you prepare. So I don't have any grudges, etc. It's 6:45 and we'll go and check at 8 am if our hostel is open. Its 7:22 am now We waited for long at
the cafe. and we're now heading to the hostel that's called the Village Backpackers. It's called something similar. We'll see if a bed is empty by now and if they let us check in. Here's a barber shop too near the hostel. That's the signboard there. Village Backpackers! We don't have high expectations. In fact no expectations at all. It's closed right now. It's just 10 more mins to 9 am. Their office has finally opened now. Let's see what happens now. Just hope to get a room or bed now. This is
our room. Finally! That's Navankur's bed & this is mine. Will sleep here now. We paid for a shared room but they even offered us a private room. But that would get empty at 10 am. It's 9 am right now. 9:15 roughly! So we thought to sleep in a shared room now. We're tired so who'll wait for another hour. We came to this room and Robert was on the next bed. Robert is from Munich, Germany. Guess how old is Robert! How old are you? 20 20! He's 20 years old. See what all these Europeans especially
Germans think of doing A 20 year old Indian won't think of doing what he did. Robert why are you here in Tonga? I just did a solo survival for 28 days on an uninhabited island. Robert came to Tonga to survive on an island. He lived on the island for a month. On uninhabited island, where no one lives. Tonga has roughly 170 islands out of which 1/3 rd island are those where no one lives. He visited one such island. He came to the capital city and took a ferry to there. He lived there alone for a m
onth with 2 kg rice and some instant noodles. And he had a knife. A knife, 40 litres water, and some food. He didn't have phone! No Internet right? Yeah! He was cut off from the world for a month. He's 20 years old. He did his school, took a gap year and doing all these things now. Don't know how they get such ideas. They're so ahead of us. But they need such adventures to cut off from the world. They live alone so they get used to it in advance. I found what he did quite interesting. We can't t
hink of all this. 1 month with no internet, no electricity, and cut off from the world. Very interesting! Because we Indians, don't have this culture of travelling and its literally possible for us to think something like that. It's very unconventional. I am sure it's unconventional for Europeans as well. It's very different. Very few people... When I told this to my friends, they were like really you want to do this. You should go backpacking or something like that! This is crazy man! You want
