know i i started feeling off like about an hour ago so i hope i'm not like getting sick but uh i might need i might need a little bit of uh extra encouragement today because i'm feeling a little weird i don't know what's going on anyways all that to say we'll be fine got water i'll just keep pounding the water welcome everybody okay so i've got chat over here so i'm gonna try and keep my on chat say hi to everybody how you doing welcome to sci-fi blitz episode three this is the live stream so y
ou're catching it live right now yeah it's just stress that's it [Laughter] it's just i've peaked my stress is just so this is not pre-recorded you're watching live that's right so there's a lot of confusion uh at the moment around sci-fi blitz about what's live what's not uh just so you guys know just to remind you what you do what we're doing every week is we do this the live stream and then next sunday at the same time what we do is we we release the the edited version so it's a it's the same
episode uh it's at the live stream but it's just cut down to a really short length to like 20 minutes 15 minutes something like that uh just because not everybody wants to watch the full hour and anyways so we do the live every second every second week we do this live thing so set your set your calendars uh set your timers um and we did a different run with the um the premiere as well this time so i scheduled it this time just 24 hours ago roughly not 24 hours yesterday for me but for you guys
this morning if you're in america so um let us know if you like that keep giving us feedback we're trying to get a bit better at how we schedule premieres and manage all that stuff because we got a lot of negative feedback for doing really early premieres so we want to make sure we don't uh burn anybody out by sending it too many notifications so keep us keep us posted let us know how we're doing all right let's double check what's the uh what's the vote final vote let's have a look here we are
it's stranger things 36 percent all right well this is gonna be fun start my recording so i've got a safe version so stranger things halloween october spooky stuff scary it's gonna be fun this is i'm scared are you scared i hope you're scared i mean it's different for me obviously but all right so what we're gonna do is uh for those of you who are new have never watched the show here are the rules i'm going to make sure i've got actually going to make sure i've got all my add-ons turned off so i
'm not allowed to use any add-ons i can't use any external files uh do i have anything turned on i think i've got node wrangler turned on we're in a wrangler we'll just export stuff down for that loop tools turn that off node wrangler turn that off and site yeah we need we need well we don't need cycles magic qv turn that off okay so no add-ons no external files no texture files no pre-made models no prep no nothing so it's just here's the vote let's just try and make something and i've got one

r things uh okay so obviously we're gonna i'm gonna delete everything and i think we need to have a we need to think about a focal point it's really important with um images and doing any kind of render you got to think about like what's the focal point of your scene and we need to have a focal point that we can achieve in an hour so i'm thinking we go swimming pool i'm thinking we go all the the nasty you know fungal growths and let's maybe center our frame around a a ladder you know from a swi
mming pool that's i think that could be good so let's go ahead and get a scene built i'm going to start with a plank you playing keep playing playing playing starting with playing and i'm going to get my camera and i'm going to jump in my camera and i'm going to lock my camera to view thanks everybody for joining i'm really glad you guys have been enjoying the show all the feedback we've been getting has been really great appreciate feedback feedback's awesome it helps us really shape things i'm
going to stick it at i'll keep it at 50 and we are going to go for our cinematic as always aspect ratio 1080 times 2.35 wham there it is and uh let's see i'm going to turn off passport 2 how can you not say that with a french accent that's i don't even know i don't even know okay now we look we're tilted a little bit let me fix that uh zero zero that out and i might just zero out my z to kind of get it like straight down the barrel all right i'm going to unlock my camera to view and i'm going t
o grab this plane and we are going to um i'll shape this thing out first so scale it up and i'll grab these two points here and i'll just pull these guys off camera and i will grab i'll go and grab all these points as well again and i'm going to switch to edge mode and i'm going to hit e to extrude grab on the z and i will delete this plane the space here i'm going to go back to edge mode select these edges i'm going to jump my camera i'm just thinking about the scale of things i might have to w
e'll probably scale things down a bit come out edit mode i'll scale this down grab it on the y jump into our view and let's scale in the x bring it down i want my camera to view i'm just going to think about this shot um we may want to go a bit wider so we can get some of the sides of the pool but i do want to kind of just focus in on this main bit here that ladder get the little curve things going i think that could look good and probably like bevel in like curve in the inner side of the pulley
you know pools have that and then probably do some kind of tile on the wall i think it's a good idea let's have a look at let's take our camera i'm going to drop my my let's go to 24 mil and yeah i think to make the ladder the focal point 24 is 50 it's sort of like a moot point i think this might be a bit of a boring composition because we're looking down like switch it like swing around to the side or something once we get going but i think this will work for now i'll go ahead and get the roug
h modeling going in all right you guys should do this everyone should have to do this in their life at least once all right um how do i want to do a pool i want to have some nice curvy bits so i think what we're going to do is use a bezier and i'll just have a look at i'm going gonna rotate on the actually i'll just scale i'm gonna do i'll turn on snapping and i'll go to vertex snapping grab this turn on snapping again grab it on the y and just snap that to there so it's nice and straight then i
'm going to go into edit mode i'll take this i'll scale it down take this in scale this in down as well and take it all rotated on the y 90 bring it up like that and let's see i'm going to go to yeah thanks omar appreciate the reminder 55.55 pressure's on all right let's uh rotate on the x other way to x negative 1 80. all right grab y i actually feel a bit physically shaky today this is this is it's making it hard to hit the keys right oh man i'm doomed for lava today i think i don't know what'
s going to happen stay tuned to find out scale zed let's see all right now uh pools i'm gonna extend let me extrude this one grab it on the y bring it out a bit more turn off my snapping so i don't get don't get caught out um i'll go ahead and see sometimes i've got this like kind of loop thing because you got the what do you got like the poles right climbing out of the pool and then they kind of go around and down right so if this is the bit that's going to have the ladder this is the bit that
needs to rotate x rotate x a little bit grab it down a little bit extrude again grab it down rotate x like this grab it on the y there we go should probably be looking in the side view make it a little bit easier on myself because the background the color that it is but bear with me and i'll turn it like that and then he grabs it and this time let's scale on the y zero that'll just flatten that one out and then i might grab this one back just to kind of even that up and what else should we do ju
st take this probably and actually that's a good shape i feel like that's a good shape we might want some kind of little handle thing like this we'll see how it looks we'll see how it looks okay let's go ahead and get some geometry on this so i'm going to go over to geometry on the little uh spline tab and i'm going to go for i can't remember which one it is depth yep there she be all right context i don't know why we're so far off the uh let's change that it's gonna be annoying the whole time c
onstantly moving stuff out now a lot of today i think is going to be achieved with crazy shaders so we're going to have to do some not so kind of interesting shader stuff and so i hope you're excited for that now i'm not like a shader pro so like november is kind of beyond me but um i will give it my best all right let's think it doesn't go all the way down does it that's right they kind of end a little bit halfway i think uh and then let's see let's take this one and just to simplify things for
now i'm going to use an array because i'm not exactly i don't want to be going back and forth just constantly updating both of these guys i want to keep them now again you can see like this this angle is probably not a good idea but that's okay all right i'm going to take my top edge here like this and i will hit let's see we've got the edge of the pool i might just simplify it just extrude this out i think let's scale that on the x a little bit like so and then i'm going to take this ring righ
t here and i'm going to control b to bevel just bevel it a touch and do the same with this one i'll grab the inner ring i may have to grab the plane switch there ctrl b to bevel just drag that out touch make sure that worked okay yep it's looking good whoa switch to sculpting mode that's sculpting it's just insane yeah i'm thinking we might switch to an angle like to the side or something like that i'll uh we'll figure that out in a minute all right i'm going to scale this one down on this no i'
ll grab this point grab this one up on the z and then what i want to do is take this and hit e to extrude and grab it down on the z and then i'm going to take this one down and then i'll rotate x 9 and then grab it on the y bring it in we need some like spooky music in the background that'd be so cool just want to mess up my edit you know and you try and do an edit all right let's see for we'll just use a cube for our steps now if you guys haven't seen what's possible in blender when it comes to
procedural nodes it is such a cool rabbit hole to get lost in i highly recommend exploring it um we could use the bevel modifier maybe but i don't want to get too many modifiers stacked up okay so i get a performance hit so i'm just going to do this manually just do a little bit of bevel like that and then i'll take this guy and i will grab him down to like here maybe and then go ahead and do another array modifier we're going to go right up so not that way we want our array on the z like about
that maybe something like that looks kind of right and i might even push them back a little bit so they can stay in line with that system looks okay over just a touch try and center it right up and then i'm going to go ahead and switch my camera back over into view and let's see if i can't find a better angle to work with now these steps usually in pools they've got like an underside we're going to need to put in some kind of bracket system there i think i will need to go to a wider angle so i'
ll drop this to 24. hey elmo today we're making uh the upside down from stranger things very creepy scary stuff uh drop the depth down a little bit it's going to bring these guys closer together so then i need to come back over here and then push this back up but just wanted to thin out that middle par a little bit um i feel like oops i feel like we're we're not quite gonna let me just check real quick um i feel like i'm not quite nailing swimming pool steps get bogged down don't get bogged down
even believe like every week every time we do one of these episodes you know and i go back and i'm doing the edit and i watch it and i'm like like oh man why did i waste so much time on that part something like this like a low angle thing could be kind of scary all right let's stick with this for now we have more time we'll swing back around and improve our um our bladder system bring this up a bit like that i think okay um and maybe grab it down a little bit yeah that looks pretty good all rig
ht let's get some shaders going let me go ahead and save as well you know me and saving savings for wimps all right here we go let's get some shader action going i'm going to go ahead and switch over to rendered view and i'm going to split my viewer and i'm going to switch this over to the shader editor are we doing for time 45 minutes 46 minutes roughly and let's start on um let's get the pool going i'll go ahead and create a pool material um and i'll create a metal material here for my uh ladd
er rungs or uh rail handles red ladder ladder ladder let's do a lot of uh rum handles handles and i even spelled it wrong all right let's come over here i'm going to crank the metallic up on this guy just because i know that's what we need and i'll drop this base color kind of down to this halfway point and i'll take my roughness all the way down on that and pull my specular up there just to get that sorted then um we need to let's get a light let's go and get a light now we're not going to have
a lot of light in this scene because of the um the kind of atmosphere is quite creepy and really diffused light we'll definitely have some volumetrics i think in the scene as well i'm going to go ahead and take my world we're going to push it into kind of like a bluish zone because that is what things look like in the upside down a little bit like greenish as well we might do something out here like some kind of noise thing as well go ahead and i'll take my light as well and i'll take that and
i'll push it into kind of a blue a blue haze kind of look alright now with the swimming pool we need we need like that tile look you know this looks like the swimming pool tile thing that you get um we could use let's just use a brick for now brick texture and i could just pipe this into the base color and we want to take the row height and width and make those the same so i'll make this .5 and i'll take my scale right down and i'll get a texture coordinate note um and you gotta decide i guess t
he pools have the tiles all the way up the side or is it just they usually have like a like a like a border right and then kind of comes down let's go for object into the vector nope generate it may have to unwrap some uvs oh no we have to unwrap uvs or we could just use another one and just like turn it now let's unwrap let's unwrap uh let's open let's just switch over to my uv editor and what happens if i just go uvn wrap uv cube projection oh that's right i've got a switch in my shader to use
the uvs for the vector i can come back to hey there we go that worked all right so now let's take our offset i'll just bring it down like that and we need to take the a bit squashy on this one so we need to fix that let's bring this right down it's this and then um i'll leave edit mode so we can actually see it the bias is where you get that like alternating color thing but it looks kind of nice like it looks nice having those so i think keep that um and i might duplicate this system like this
and i'll get a normal mount sorry bump bump texture and i'll pipe that into the height and with this one i will take the bias down to zero and i'll drop this into the normal that should give us just a bit yeah there's some um also take the mortar smooth and crank it all the way up and then the mortar size too that can really help oh thanks 4k appreciate the super chat angry at sky bowling about the yeah what do you guys want to do we're going to go uh blue upside down or angry red because they g
rade it both ways in the show so in chat let me know red are we going red are we going blue you pick i've seen it mostly it's blue but uh bias same bring that down a little bit see how it looks inverted does it look anymore yeah that looks more appropriate that's right sweet all right great now let's take this and uh let's see i want to take my bias down a little bit don't get bucked down chris don't get bugged in take this drop it down a little bit and then let's take this this par i need to ju
st bring it up a bit i feel like it's not quite looking right uh everybody wants red okay we're going red do a bit of red here in this light let me go [Music] yeah blue with white particles would be uh what i would expect from the um the upside down but that's kind of nice we could do both uh let's uh let's go for we need to get some tendrils going so let's take this also get my steps and let's use the same material the ladder and uh get that to work well for these guys i'll make my roughness up
a little bit and i'll take my base color just till they look kind of alright um all right now we're going to need to have some some gross gross like vine things kind of growing everywhere um yeah blue in the pool red in the sky that's a good idea yeah all right cool so what we're gonna need to do is get um i think what i'm gonna do is build like a separate shader that we like put inside these materials and then layer on top of the mix shader so we'll create it in here with this one although i d
o need to go ahead and fix let's fix this uv real quick because this particular one just looks a little off just going to kind of match it to i it's fine if our seams and stuff don't line up it's more about the proportions all right you can create some cool vine effects with the vironai so we've got varroni texture i'm going to double it up and then we need to use a math node and i'm pretty sure we need to subtract and we need to go smooth f1 and pipe the distance into both of these and i'm goin
g to create a new shader here um just start off with an emission shader so that we can see it clearly put that in here put this here there we go and i need to also use the uv so we're going to go texture coordinate and i'll pipe the uv to both of these guys right [Music] now we need to take the get a value note here and we need to pipe the scale into both of these so we can have uniform control over that i'm just going to drag it right up and now we're getting weird nastiness and then what i wan
t to do is i'm going to take a noise node noise texture and a mix rngb right not mixed shader makes rgb mix rgb and let's think what we're going to do i'm going to take the uv i'll pipe it into the first color i'll take the factor pipe it into the second color turn it off to start with and then i'll put this into both vectors and we're going to introduce some noise into the the vector to get a little bit of extra uh displacement we might have to drag the scale up and oh yeah we also need to make
sure that this is being driven by the uv as well there we go scale up a bit increase the detail and maybe the roughness of touch and then i'll just drag this back down so just want to settle a bit it's just a subtle touch of extra noise now we can get another cool effect too uh yeah the upside down down under that's right um now we need to do is uh if we take the this one here i think we can get a cooler result with chibitiv yeah kinda kinda i mean let's go for color ramp start like kind of cut
ting it back a bit yeah it's it's pretty good let me switch this to ease that could probably give us a bit better and it's definitely looking very like organic and gross these seams are going to be a bit of a problem for this material but i'm going to try not to stress let's take these and let's try expanding that bringing it down all right let's go and get this into like an actual material so what do i want for this i want to have i'm gonna grab a principled bsdf and uh i need this thing to be
to be gross looking um so i'm gonna pipe in i'll kind of i'll use one of these to sort of be like my mat we used to cut everything out with and get rid of that and then let's see we want to take we want to go for a i'll get another color ramp this will be the one that we use that up what our color is and uh let's see let's take this and we're going to make this blue and brighten it up and down just a touch and then we're going to need to take we need to as well we're going to need a bump definit
ely going to need a bump bring this into the height pipe this into the to do some like vector displacement with this but i'm worried if i switch to cycles it's just going to slow us down too much and we've got 35 minutes all right that's looking really sick look at that that's gross real nasty all right this is what we want um i'm going to take my specular i'm going to turn it up for these guys take my roughness and bring it down a touch and then we want to do is we also want to then like cut it
out so we want to have like the black be well we're going to use the mix shader that's right so let's grab a mix shader let's go ahead and start combining these guys and i might just duplicate one more of these to be our so you know be our uh matte for faders i'm going to bring this one and put it into the factor i'm going to take this and i'll put this here and we need to invert that because that's not correct so let's swap these inputs drum roll 34 minutes all right loses a lot when we do tha
t so we need to really crank this up now you can see it's starting to grow it's growing on the walls it's disgusting i think what i'll do too until instead of using black as the base color here i'll take this one and i'll make it i'll bring it up to another kind of like bluish color maybe like this so we get like this sort of two-tone effect looks pretty nice now um we need to uh let's see back in my camera let's get uh it'd be nice to get this stuff growing on here as well how much we got we go
t 33 minutes let's get the sky working and we need to get the volume working and we also need to get some particles floating in here that's really important so um let's see i'll take let's play with the scale just for a second yeah i think it looks it looks pretty good let's go to my world shader so pipe over to the world where are we here we are go ahead and grab a noise texture and a color ramp pipe that into the factor i'll bring this over into the the color bring that down a touch and i'm go
ing to get my detail roughness and bring this out maybe distort this a little bit and then what we can do is make this like an angry red and then this black what we can do is bring this up a bit do it like that now it is going to color the whole scene so we may want to adjust this a little bit with a light path node and grab these guys bring this up here and let's grab another background shader and then a mix shader drop this one into here pipe this one into here and then we're going to go is ca
mera ray and bring that into this now i need to swap these and what we're doing now is basically saying wherever the camera is looking we want to use this for the world and now i can just like could still go for a bit of red but i can you know back it off we can have a bit more control over how it's looking it's kind of nice having that combo the red and that we do need some kind of light though it's going to hit with some of that red so i might take the angle down on this guy turn the strength
up find a good yeah kind of looks sort of there it's all right it's not great um i mean if i just go straight with this it's just going to dominate we'll keep it for now we'll see what happens when we add enough volume let's go for a volume scatter node go for like uh you know i think we're gonna have to just pick one color and go with it because volume scattered then it's gonna everything all right let's take the density down just a bit um actually we'll lose our sky won't we if we go too heavy
if i could use a combination take my answer trophy down that might work well for us because then the answer drop is low and our lights will show up and give us a bit of haze i don't know i think this is probably cooler i know i can just hide the whole image and then we can say it looks cool because we can't see it all right now let's grab a light point light grab this in here and that'll just give me a bit of interest and kind of scariness we can add into this haze let's bring that up a little
bit more because it's nice having all this in there i might adjust my camera a little bit as well come a bit more down and up like this move this off over here for a good angle how we going 28 minutes all right now let's uh let's see let's turn all this off just have a look at it it's looking cool definitely looking cool um we need more though we need more all right i'm going to unlock my camera to view i am going to go ahead and experiment as well with turning on depth of field and i'm going to
focus on the ladder and i'm going to turn down my my f-stop to like a 1 maybe and let's see how's that looking it's a bit too much turn it up a little bit like that all right cool really wish we had some depth to this this nastiness but we don't um let's let's go to our object or shader object now let's what we can do is um we can get fancy and grab this whole shader system that we've just built right the the gross fines just bring that down a touch and uh so grab it all plus the the mix shader
and hit copy and now i can come over to my bladder handles material grab this out and we can paste it in and then i can delete that and bring this one in as the other shader and then we just need to change instead of uvs we need to use i think object to make that work yeah this is voldemort's pool that's right uh we had um harry potter won the vote this week um uh what do i want generated maybe [Music] yep and i'll bring this down and just make sure that yep the factors plugged in all right so
you can see it's kind of not working like we're getting like this weird stretch where we might need to use um use something a bit different i also don't want it like covering everything that much you know like that's just like a little too you could try cutting it away a little bit that but now we're getting the same thing repeating um oh that's partly why i need to use the object for both coordinates let's see what that looks like maybe i'll stick a mapping note in there and stretch it out a li
ttle bit um possibly [Music] let's try that i'll grab a mapping node now we go in 25 minutes all right save thanks omar saved okay we're doing good we're doing good bring that vector into this vector this vector don't get bogged down chris come on come on never know when a crash is coming that's right that's the scariest thing ever crashes you never know when they're gonna come all right let's see probably need to skill in the z yep there it is so now we're getting bits and then let's see um thi

d then i do everything i can to understand them so we're gonna it's how we're gonna bring our world together guys gotta hear it's a few points super important all right that's looking cool this is looking better i'm feeling a little more confident i was kind of like feeling like everything was gonna fall apart there for a second but all right now because i haven't labeled anything i've got no idea what my pool is there we go okay now let's take the um let's take the tiling it's it's looking like
it's super clean you know like we need some kind of like grunginess in there and uh let's see um let's go i also feel like the color is not great so let's grab a color ramp first color will give us more to work with okay here we go um so instead of black let's bring this up a bit and let's go for like a we could go for more of like a create that contrast in the tiles maybe if we go blue at everything i'm worried that it just might be a bit too much green could be cool well it's given us the bes
t it's the best look best look um here we go let's do this to 22 minutes what's up with you guys in like the uh the completely you know even all numbers like two two two two five five it's like pressure but it's also kind of symmetrical and beautiful the green is definitely creepy but it doesn't necessarily make a whole lot of sense um but that's all right i kind of like the grossness now let's let's add in let's add in a little more grossness what happens if i drop my roughness on this ah come
on blender i got 20 minutes i need you to work bring down that roughness and bring up the specular it's quite enough to for it to reflect in the scene i think this is the point where i get like totally bogged down and distracted and and the whole thing just falls apart because i got to obsessed over which shade of green all right let's grab a musgrave muskrate texture um and we're gonna stick this into what um i'm gonna grab another color ramp i'll stick the height into the factor and we're goin
g to go mix rgb and i'll drag this over into here like that and i'm going to go where i want to go bring the factor up and multiply maybe and then we're going to take the scale and drag it right up this is usually a bad idea doing it this way because i can't actually see what i'm looking at oh yeah and i need to grab the uv i that into the vector particles atmosphere vines particles atmosphere vines that's right wes let's just do it this this grunge thing is not gonna not gonna be let's crank up
the detail dimension bring the dimension down you can see we get this nice grunge effect right um bring that up a bit maybe down a bit in a bit somewhere it's a bit too bit too much all right and i'm going to back the factor off so it's just ever so slightly in there it's good all right now uh let's get some particles going let's do it we've got 18 minutes we can do particles let's do it all right um let's let's grab um uh let's grab a what do i want to do uh i'm gonna grab a uh cube i'm gonna
scale it up so it contains my scene i'm gonna come over here and i'm going to go to particles and click on a new particle system i'm going to come to here i'm going to go instancing i'm going to show instancer in neither the viewport or the render i'm going to come over here i'm going to take velocity no wait uh physics no wait uh zero velocity i'm gonna emit from source what volume yes i'm gonna come back out into this mode and i'm going to emit everything on the first frame and there we go uh
1000's pretty good uh let's create a mesh plane um jump out of the camera focus on the plane do you like this more intense way of uh doing sci-fi blitz and then let's create a material for the plane quick boom there material uh switch back over to this mode so we can actually see it um let's go to the uh i need a gradient texture bam and then we need a texture coordinate bam we're gonna go object into the vector i'm gonna switch this to a spherical i'm going to grab a noise right here i'm going
to multiply math no mix rgb boom factor into the color color into the color factor turned up multiply bam turn this into the emission so i can see what's going on i'm going to take this and i'm going to grab a color ramp stick this right here i'm going to pull this in a bit to just kind of make it stronger on the edge i'm going to take my scale i'm going to drop it down like this i'm going to get a mapping node and i'm going to scale it up a touch on the z to affect it that won't be uh and there
it is that's what i wanted i'll just come up a little bit like that drag it in a touch and shift d bring this up here i need to crunch that there we go all right now we can do is we can pipe all of this into the alpha we can come over into our material options we can turn it to alpha alpha blend alpha hashed and we'll go alpha hashed and i need to make it stronger so i'm going to bring this down bring this down there we go and dust mode i'm gonna go to uh probably just need a diffuse shader but
forget it we're not gonna worry about it all right i'm gonna make this my dust object i'm gonna come back to my cube which is my emitter and i'm going to switch this to emit under object we're going to go dust boom jump back to my camera now i need to orient it correctly so i'm just going to cheat i'm going to hit no not tab for that i'm going to go to my dust uh and i need to be able to see it uh cube let's uh make these particles bigger um i could just rotate turn on rotation phase uh random
phase it's all good velocity globals do i turn on dynamic are they gonna turn off gravity too although it doesn't matter because we're not really filled field weights fill weights gravity off no more gravity who needs gravity all right can we actually see them they're there they're there can't actually see them let's go to the dust this is exactly the kind of thing we get bogged down on when uh when everything falls apart for us on sci-fi blitz i'm going to turn up their mission a little bit and
i'll make them blue i will come up like this drag this down like this so they're just a bit more faded for me go let's take my cube and i'm going to turn up the number particles to heaps and heaps 8 000 random seed so i get a nice kind of clean image looking now i'm going to go down to my uh where is it um object i'm going to take the scale randomness turn that right up and then i need to go into the shader for the dust can i just enter edit mode and like rotate there we go that's what i wanted
and then i'll take this and i will um i want it like to identifiable because then we'll see a repeating pattern just do something like that and then i need to take this emission color and go like really blue with it i think or not really yeah let me turn it down do we even need the emission anymore i think that looks pretty good all right now um where are we at 13 minutes okay um colors still aren't like fully coming alive yet uh let's see i need to take the cube and i need the particles to be
a touch smaller like so and i think we need more we need like 30 000 more um now we've got heaps floating in the environment now okay our is uh not working for me um and we just need i feel like some more light somewhere so i'm gonna go to all right 12 minutes okay try not to panic then where's my uh the plane is my pool lame label your stuff like we i just looked i thought you were over there i moved my camera recently it's been confusing me to no end ever since i did that i should have never d
one it i should never move my camera all right i am liking it when it's kind of more in that wheelhouse of uh blue what happens if we take this grab this grab this make this black make this white what are you doing chris what are you doing mate cut it out can't help myself and we take this and we pipe it into the roughness what does that do drum roll waiting nothing great okay uh let's um let's let's see if we can like spice this up a little bit more let's try and add another point light and may
be like down here or something and then maybe like sometimes if this is red is that cool it is nice like the double kind of look um let's let's also we need to just sort our composition out a touch more so i'm going to lock my camera to view and then i'm going to slide over just a little bit i think get a bit more of that depth of field action going not quite that much come down like this no actually it was working for us a little bit better over there all right so we get some uh we try and get
some like large tendrils going if this is like a blue gosh i keep liking going blue with everything i feel like a contrasting color is actually working very well in this environment that feels more like the show to me it does feel like we've kind of gone overboard that glowing thing is a point light and we've got our ancestral be turned up so high that those point lights become visible which is a very cool effect see if i turn it down that light kind of spreads out you can also do the same to th
e negative so if this is going into the negative but it's not space drag this down a touch looks good should probably also put a bit of noise in this maybe to the factor grab this and i'll grab that color see what that does for us just a nice like little detail probably not all that visible adds a bit of texture all right um hmm what do we need we need something else what is it gang what is it blowing time eight minutes uh let's see hmm what else can we do we could try like some actual tendrils
like kind of coming into the space um i can also go ahead and get my one thing i've wanted to do with every sci-fi blitz is get the um just get the compositing actually to look good but you know what let's let's try for some tendrils let's do it let's try for some tendrils i'm gonna make sure i'm unlocked from camera views so we don't we don't have that mess with us again and let's think about how we want to do this let's have um we'll have something kind of snake in off here so let's just use a
curve a bezier curve i need to turn on all that stuff i've got eight minutes where are you busy grab it on the y i've got another zig y all right let's come here and i'll go into the top view bring this right over here go into edit mode just grab this off like this grab this here rotate come like this uh i'm going to hit e to extrude grab that on the zed rotate on the x up like that scale it down a touch rotate like this i'll take this one and i'll rotate like this um and then i'll take this an
d i will hit e to extrude i'll rotate on the x uh let's see 90 again um and take zed come around like this grab it out take the whole thing grab it i'm set bring it down scales it and said let's take the the depth bring the depth up okay i'm going to go into edit mode i'm going to alt s to scale down points if you select a point you can hit alt s to scale up or down if you're working in uh working with tendrils all right let's jump back to our camera we're gonna make sure we do this thing to the
view so uh it looks good why okay grab this just pull it down all right grab x are we going six minutes still got to figure out a material for these guys but that's all right this is looking creepy all right again sorry everybody in chat i am i'm in focus mode so if i feel like you feel like you're being ignored you are it's not it's not me it's you i'm just kidding it is me come on five minutes let's do this let's make this work this makes us look good every episode so far i've done something
at this point that's kind of messed us all up let's see what happens this week all right let's uh get a material on these guys so they actually look like something um let me come into another mode come to bezier curve this guy i'm going to go ahead and apply a material and i'm going to select this is 002 select this guy and make sure him all right let's uh we'll we'll echo the the creepy creepy thing four minutes whoo pressure's on copy back into that material based grab it up delete pull this i
