Sean Manaea reacts to big showing in Mets' 3-1 win over Cardinals | SNY

Sean Manaea says he felt "great" after his spring training start in Florida where he got the win and notched six strikeouts against the Cardinals. The lefty discussed how he felt his slider was both his best and worst pitch in the game while being happy with his fastball. how did you feel uh great um you know everything felt good slider was probably the my worst pitch it was like the best and worst um I threw some really good ones and then there was some where I didn't throw as well as I thought I could have um other than that everything else felt really good all my fast balls uh the one changer by three that was a triple still felt good but um just location wise it was a little up but other than that everything else was great is that a normal thing to have AIT b
e best and worst at the same time or something you you deal with often or I'd say with that one yeah just because it's so can fluctuate from like you know horizontal it could be from like 10 to 20 so it's um you know and that plus uh throwing First Strike um also makes a big difference but um yeah I mean overall was just okay you have one more to start uh Sunday or Monday Monday T the Yankees is my last start Yanke okay yeah whatever that is yep how are you feeling overall about your progression
and just how you pitched so far this spring uh we're in a really great spot um you know just from like a pitches standpoint I definitely think this is you know the best I've ever felt in the spring training so that's uh very encouraging everything's you know feeling really good we're in a really great spot so um just keep doing that and you know keep building up and I think we're in a good spot for um the opening Series how do you feel with like the entirety of your repertoire you know kind of
go about how you want to use that the season yeah um I think um you know me and Ali have been um kind of you know feeding off each other and um you know definitely worked on probably different sequences than we did um actually in game but um you know each outing has kind of had like its own um like signature um like outing so I think today was a lot of fast balls and um you know getting behind still throwing it or um getting ahead with guys with those pitches um you know I thought that was a rea
lly good job but yeah I think uh throwing any count and um yeah just keep throwing it has been been really good
