I love just talking about editions I find pretty, so in this video, I share a closer look at the Signature Classics edition of a few of my favorite classic books! These book editions feature cover art by French artist, Malika Favre, who is known for her minimalist / pop art work. The books featured in this product-style review are Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë, and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Thank you for watching!

hi friends today I wanted to do something
a little bit different it's been a really long time since I've done like a product review
type of thing on books and I love doing those just because I love talking about editions of
books if you're looking for I don't know just something different so what I'm talking about
today are the Signature Classics versions of I mean classic books Pride and Prejudice Emma The
Picture of Dorian Gray I was wandering through a Barnes & Noble as us bookworms do a
nd I saw
the Signature Classics section and I absolutely loved the modern spin on these I have been so
picky about trying to find an addition that I like on my favorite classic books and I really
like these so I wanted to talk about the Signature Classics which is done by the cover artist Malika
Favre she is a French artist she is a graphic artist and illustrator but she is so talented her art
style is minimalist meets like pop art there's almost like an anime feel to it so you have the
re
ally stripped down color palettes using primary colors to depict you know the main object and
like like a harsh shadow and that kind of thing they're just so lovely so I wanted to share what
those editions look like in case anyone else is in the same boat I was and trying to find just
something different for classic books that they love and so I have three editions right now I have
Wuthering Heights which look how beautiful it is that style is everything that I've been wanting
in these book
s I have a different addition of Wuthering Heights and it makes me feel like I'm a
sixth grader or something with how pastel colored and very young it feels and the font is really
big and I just I don't like it and I'm probably going to sell it but I love this so you have
these covers which again it's the French artist Malika Favre and then on the back there is a quote
and then the naked cover is just like a pop of color and we see this trend right now with like
Sarah J Maas's books and eve
n Brandon Sanderson has been doing just these kind of color pop
very modern takes on their books Gizmo wants to get in on this product review this one is so
lovely this one might be my favorite right now and then I have of course Pride and Prejudice so
lovely like just look at how the colors contrast together got the little I think that's
Union Square I think is who did these but these are printed in Canada I
believe and then again this is the opening line of the book with the
quote on the
back and then this color pop look how pretty that is I am a huge fan of these I think the listed
price on these is $20 you might might be able to find these somewhere cheaper I know Book
Outlet has Emma right now for like $5.50 I was actually on Book Outlet earlier today and
I ordered it so I think that's the only one no they have a couple more but so pretty and
then the other one I have of course is The Great Gatsby look how stunning that is
and I love how it's centered on Daisy there we
go you know ending
quote of the book and then this one's color on the naked hard cover
is that nice dark like teal kind of color and they look so good together like I said I think Wuthering Heights
might be my favorite just look how stunning it is so my bad I totally forgot to show you the
closeup of the inside pages so that you could see like the margin sizing and the font size because I
know that's a big deal to readers and that's what irked me about my other edition of Wuthering
Heights
so I think it's a good size it's very readable here's the inner flap I just really love the modern take on these
covers the reason why these stories stand the test of time in the first place is because the ideas
are so just futuristic they anticipate problems of the future and they just dive deep into all of the
same issues that have been around forever and are still around because change is slow I just really
like this style I'm definitely going to be looking out for more of Malika's art s
he is so talented
and if you look at her Instagram feed I mean it's just incredible art I'm going to link a video
that she did where she was speaking out of vent because she just is such an interesting person
so if you were like me and very undecided about what additions of classic novels that you love
and adore and you're looking for something more modern and minimalist but so colorful definitely
consider the signature Classics editions like I said they have them in their own section at le
ast
at my Barnes and Noble they did you can find them on Amazon you can find the odd book here and
there on like Book Outlet but I would definitely check like Pangobooks eBay you know a books
wherever and happy hunting until next time bye
