Minnie and Me on the Road

2 weeks ago

[Music] Hi everyone welcome to Minnie and me on  the road today I'm going to share with you how I take photos that include Minnie and me when  I'm traveling on my own I have an iPhone 13 Pro and the easiest quickest way to take photos  of us is using the selfie mode on the phone this was how I started taking our photos and  we still use this method a lot a trick is to keep turning or positioning yourself until the  lighting looks good on the phone then take the shot also don't be afraid to take
hundreds of  photos you can delete the ones you don't like afterwards the next method I use is placing the  DSLR camera on the tripod with the 10sec timer option this method gets you fit and I'm sure  it's entertaining for any bystanders I set up the shot press the button and run into position  wait for the shutter to click then go back and have a look at the photo I make any adjustments  on the camera and repeat this method only works if it isn't too far between the tripod and where  you were p
ositioning yourself after this I decided to buy a bluetooth remote so I could put the  camera on the tripod get into position and then take the photo I found the remote laggy wouldn't  always take the photo first push and then I lost the remote so next I heard about a Canon remote  switch which looks like this this end plugs into the camera then this end is the shutter button on  the camera I need to change the mode to burst mode then I press the button and slide which locks it  into place it wi
ll then continuously take photos until I slide it back this works really well  especially when I need to clamber over rocks with Minnie to get into position it also allows me  to get unique photos like these this one works for my camera but you'd need to do a Google search  to find one for your camera or your camera may have this mode built in already you're welcome  to leave your camera model in the comments and I'll see if I can help so I also enjoy creating  videos which gives a different per
spective from a photo I needed to get creative to include us in  the videos so I found places to stick my phone on the ground which is what I did in these videos  but it was often hard to get the phone to stay in position and the ground was often dirty so  then I remembered in the cupboard I had a DJI om 5 smartphone gimbal which I'd purchased before  our travels and looks like this it comes with a DJI phone app and by using this app to take  photos it has a follow me mode I do a peace sign then
it counts down and starts following us I  really like how it gives another dimension to our videos the last most recent purchase was a DJI Mini  4 Pro drone which is another way of allowing me to take photos and videos of Minnie and me  this is one of the automatic modes the drone has I select the option then the drone flies  itself then in this video I hid the controller behind the magazine so it looks like the drone is  flying itself thank you for watching our video I hope you found informati
ve and helpful if you'd  like to see more videos like this please like and subscribe and leave any comments or feedback  in the area below we shall see you next time

Enjoyed your video it’s always fun learning new tips on photography when on your own. I often use the timer on my selfies. I have an Olympus so use the app on my phone as a remote.

@leonielewis5546

The remote control is attached to the camera, how does this help when you have to move into place?

@susandesborough2678

😅 I did often wonder if you grabbed someone 😅, not Minnie, lol Sometimes the subtitles obscure the picture. Is there any way of moving if down further?
