nonprofit organization SOS care is celebrating the opening of its $10 million housing project for those with autism and intellectual disabilities Oak Tree Farm is off medin parkway near Highway 501 we last reported on this neighborhood eight months ago when SOS care broke ground and started construction news 13's jacula brzy was in that complex today and spoke with a resident who explained the idea and the passion that went into this community you can now find three newly furnished apartment bui
ldings at Oak Tree farms completing their phase two and three projects and any day now more than 70 residents who've been approved will move in this ribbon cling is for these three apartment buildings uh 36 units for 72 new residents SOS care started developing Oak Tree farms about 7 years ago nonprofit CEO says the idea came one day during a serious conversation where will you live when maybe your family are not here anymore and and um It's s of just that moment where people say oh my goodness
I don't know because there's nowhere for us to go pop says her intent was to create an affordable housing community for adults with autism and intellectual disabilities she explains this complex will allow individuals to learn life skills and prove to themselves and others what they are capable of five residents currently live in a transition house in the complex and one I spoke with says he can't wait to move into his new home because I get to see more people and you know be more people there a
