well the city of Montgomery is using the power of art to promote activism and bring attention to social issues the Southern Poverty Law Center teamed up with several local artists and organ organizations to host the art is activism block party on Washington Street the event featured several local Montgomery artists from painters to poets and musicians it gave them a platform to Showcase their talents and advocate for change painters were able to sell their art while other performers were shown u
p on the stage I think art speaks to all of us it's an intergenerational approach whether it's visual art whether whether it's music it's a collective of Graphics visual Graphics that it can speak to everyone about issues that are at the core of our communities and also it just speaks to what's on everybody's mind and if you walk up to a table of an art piece it resonates with you you get to put your own perspective on that
