ently here that Draymond clip I believe came out yesterday and they are playing tonight golden state is on the road their two-point favorite as we know they are always a disaster in this spot if you don't believe me Steph Curry came back played against the Lakers they lose 113-105 Steph made 10-3s against Oklahoma City they lose 137-128 they are 7 and 25 on the road and yet here they are again favored on the road against the Memphis Grizzlies yeah it's a tough one it is a tough one to go over be
cause you look at Memphis do you want to go near that team right now without John Morant not necessarily but also you can look at the Golden State Warriors the same exact way here Kevin they're on the road they're slight favorites you look at this game go yeah they should be able to win that game of course they should Until you realize they never win on the road this is a team that was full gas going up against OKC and got busted out now they're going to go up against 18 that actually wants to w
in in their own building that plays well in their own building and we're expecting them to do the same thing sometimes you just have to take a step back and say well what makes sense tonight total is going to be in the mid-230s there let's just say it closes 236 right well I'm immediately looking towards Steph Curry and Klay Thompson three-point props I don't care who actually wins this game because I'm not trusting the Grizzlies without their best player but I'm certainly not trusting the Golde
n State Warriors going on the road and laying points here which means they have to win in order to get the cover here it might just be as easy as Steph Curry is going to go nuts and we'll let the chips fall where they made for me here Kevin the thing for me is golden state has often been able to get up to play Memphis they like playing the Grizzlies that's why I actually do think the Draymond Green Dylan Brooks thing is sneaky relevant here because this will have Golden State's full attention co
ming into this game but also remember now it's not the same result but remember last year Memphis Donnie without John Morant was essentially the best team in the NBA they scored 135 points in every game yeah what is going on here like they never lose now that's not happened so far and in fact they've only covered I believe three of 11 games that John Moran has missed this season so they've missed job greatly however they are not the type of team to me that is just going to lose every single game
that John misses this is a long way of saying I want nothing to do with this side it it just scares me to death because I see both teams stepping up I'm tempted by an over but maybe in the first quarter maybe in the first half here it's a bigger number Donnie that I don't know if I want to get involved with for the entirety of the basketball game especially with the Warriors coming off of a 137 128 performance it's hard to carbon copy and repeat something like that but I'm looking towards this

y in the tournament it is a great time a lot of content and a lot of basketball to watch throughout the day more games now Kevin than even in March Madness which is uh exciting exciting times let's get straight to the action here we'll start this off in the ACC with Wake Forest and Miami Miami to me as Ben kind of this sleeping giant if you will uh there were 14 in the country uh this offense has performed all year long which is how you get a big time total of 156 and a half number here against
the Demon Deacons what do we think Donnie from Miami and Wake Forest yeah I don't know what's in the air down there in the ACC right where you're worried about neutral courts and some teams being a little bit nervous but scoring certainly is up down there and you're saying that a 156 and a half if I'm just looking at the number itself Miami is going to play its first game in the ACC tournament Wake Forest played yesterday and won at the gun against Syracuse I would lean towards the under in this
game just because Kevin again if you just do the random math they're like 75 75 puts you in that range who says Wake Forest after playing yesterday still gonna have those legs now granted they're college kids don't have to go on the road they're not playing at Wake Forest and then going on the road at BC at this point they're still in the same building they have the sight lines down they have the normalcy but also Kevin let's keep in mind again Wake Forest played yesterday it's not as if they'r
e going to play again tonight at 8 o'clock this game's gonna tip off to 12. so a fast turnaround for Wake Forest and also this will be Miami's first game here if we're taking a look at the two teams Miami is Sensational to offense number one inefficiency here they're led by some great guard play Jim larranega and this team co-champions of the ACC they should win in this one Wake Forest gets down by the three-point shot they love to shoot at Kevin as we previewed yesterday number one in ACC play
at volume from behind the three-point line but Miami defends it okay and also chases you off of that line I don't know if it's going to be there now Wake Forest scoring inside the arc Kevin number two overall and field goal percentage of close to 54 but how about their point distribution 15th out of 15 teams if the three balls not going down you live and die by that I'm not so sure Wake Forest can hang around with Miami but actually would lean towards the under it's a high price here Miami plays
some good defense stalls it out at the end and that's how you get it I I that's interesting I will say the now it's not a perfect thing again it's a trend though uh Wake On the season has been an underdog uh in 13 games ten two and one to the over in those 13. but it always depends how the numbers match up here and perhaps they match up towards an under can I ask you actually uh something quickly though about just conference tournaments DRS because it is a rare time where wake is played right y
ou know rest versus rust exists on all sports but this is unique in that it's like well Wake Forest played yesterday there really shouldn't be that tired they're they're adjusted to the court do you factor that in at all when you're trying to break down a conference tournament game you try to early in the tournament it doesn't really matter and you can almost argue Kevin you get a bounce from saying like hey man yeah we won yesterday we didn't go to overtime we didn't play triple overtime it was
one game same building as if we would be you work harder Kevin in practice than you actually do in games they won so they can take that momentum and also as I said you're staying in the same Hotel you're taking the same path to the gym probably the same locker room we were just here yesterday we scored 77 points we're feeling good that could be a boost but granted these are long tournaments here teams like Wake Forest might have to play on four and five straight days you worry about it after th
e third or fourth and also keep in mind as Wake Forest wins the competition gets even better so it's no surprise when they start to slow down because they are playing better opponents certainly something to keep our eye on there let's keep with another early game which is Baylor in Iowa State again this is the beauty of today right these are noon 12 30 tips here uh which we love to see Baylor four and a half Point favorite in this basketball game against Iowa State uh Iowa State right now uh is
in an interesting spot uh we've got a total of 134 and a half right now what do you see here with Baylor and the Cyclones it should be a fun one because if you're just looking at the two teams what do you say to yourself well bail is probably the better basketball team or they should win minus four and a half but also when you say to yourself it's hard to beat a team three times in a season no it's not but you would look at this number and go yeah Baylor probably handled Iowa state twice that's
not the case I would say plastered Baylor two times already so they're coming into this game on a neutral quote garlic we already have your number here's what it's going to come down to though Baylor number one in Big 12 Conference play efficiency on offense you know what Iowa state does on defense number one in defensive efficiency so we know it's going to come down there the one thing Iowa state does do is they foul which will put Baylor on the line Baylor out of the 10 teams in conference pla
y number three at getting to the free-throw line but we do know this you live and die by the three-point shot for Baylor they're exceptional number one in conference play making the three-point shot of close to 37 as a team why is that important Kevin they're also number one in conference played volume we see it so many times hey this team jacks up a ton of three-point shots yeah eventually they'll make some but they don't don't pick and choose their spots which means that their percentages will
dip that's not the case with Baylor and also take a look at Iowa State I just told you there's 10 teams in the big 12. they're 10th in point distribution from three-point range not number one which would be fantastic 10th which means they'll let you shoot it if Baylor's three-point shots are going down they should win but again sometimes it is about take the points and pray and keep in mind as we started off this conversation I always beat Baylor twice I'm not coming into this game saying hey w
e got to find a way to beat this team they've already done it twice a year maybe taking the points and also Kevin can we lean on this if you live and die by the three-point shot isn't it better just to fade a team that does that because if they're not making a crazy amount of three-point shots which again we said that Iowa State can allow it you look at some of these numbers during the scene game one 22 from the three-point line against Iowa State bear was game number two around 35 both of those
games well below their numbers maybe they let them shoot with a hand in their face but I'm gonna take the points here with Iowa State interesting look as you mentioned by the way not narrow victories there a pair 15-point wins yes for recyclones over Baylor the one thing that you see in those games right Iowa state scored 77 and 73. you've talked about it a lot the Baylor defense is hardly Championship level right so you know if you try and go maybe a Cyclones team total here and maybe that cou
ld be the most trustworthy angle and almost worry less about that Balor variance from the three-point line where they go wild and they're in the 80s or they absolutely fall apart could be a way to attack it here let's go to the Big East we've got Providence and Yukon man of memories is memory served here are you gonna get involved with a player prop in this game is this was was Providence Yukon where you were trying to attack with the free throws and Hopkins or is that a different matchup for pr
oblems in the Big East I think it might have a different matchup but I do remember getting dad on that where one team fouls the other team does goes One Direction and thousands it's a good point you bring up because also I like the the way you brought that up too because you don't actually have to take a side or a total here I mean the FanDuel Sportsbook is going to have player props up all game longwear if you just like an equation this guy can make three point shots this guy should score the t
empo of this game so many different ways to bet them when it was a couple years ago where all you had was a side and total so I'm glad you did bring that up a lot of different ways to bet some of these games and that by the way uh if memory serves the first game against UConn he took 15 free throws uh we're talking about the best player on Province by the way Bryce Hopkins uh and he got to 27 and in the second game he got to 16 points made six free throws uh and I believe that was the dependent
on when you were able to get that number how successful uh that number was but what do you want to do here with the six and a half uh spread that Yukon lays or perhaps the 144 and a half over under here's a tough one it's in the garden it's going to be jumping both of these teams certainly have Avid fan bases there I can't wait to watch it play I'll put you all right I mean we are still going to deal with Providence getting to the line more than any other team in the Big East and also Connecticu
t fouling more but how do you want to weigh on how these teams ended the season I like Providence I like Ed Cooley and anybody usually says like hey give a six and a half points they're going to be able to survive and might be able to win the game rightfully so but you also take a look at a Providence team Kevin that's coming in loses of three or four games UConn one of the hottest teams in the country and also keep in mind UConn was the team we opened up the season going wow they could be a num
ber one overall seed and then turned into what actually happened to UConn are they a bad basketball team now hitting the gas pedal once again I see that number it seems high and on granted I do subscribe to the take the points and pray Theory when you're getting a good team with Providence but I don't know if Providence can win this game here if Providence isn't getting to the line and certainly making it you know let's just say easy charity straight free throws to keep themselves in the game I
don't see where they really match up in this game I think UConn is red hot playing in the garden I do think they handle their business this I'll go against Ed Cooley in this one and lay the six and a half points all right how about that tell you what we got we've got two left and one of them looks like maybe a DRS special so we're gonna hold that off and we're gonna get to this other ACC game that you want to hit here which is Duke and Pitt Duke's first game in the ACC tournament there are five
and a half Point favorite against the Pitt Panthers here total for this one 141 and a half pit again yesterday played a very high scoring basketball game perhaps could be in line against Duke here what are you seeing yeah here's what happens in the ACC tournament every year which always I get a kick out of Duke and UNC are de facto home teams here but here's the issue Duke comes and fills up the arena by about 30 percent Pittsburgh will come into this game fill it up with about 10 percent of the

ot sure if he retired or was fired I really can't tell I just know he's not the coach anymore take me through how you feel knowing that he's no longer the coach and what exactly the Outlook is for him and the program Kev is a big J journalist and as the most unbiased man in sports media I think you set that up very well all we know is as we can State the facts is that Jim Boeheim is no longer returning as the head coach of Syracuse men's basketball after 47 years at the helm Kev I think it was r
eally interesting from what I understand and how I perceive this this was always going to be the plan I believe these were the conversations had by Jim Boeheim and the athletic director at Su John wildak among the Syracuse Administration in the athletic department that at the end of this season Jim it was time to hang it up and call it a career but Jim behind can't make things easy Jim Boeheim can't make things clear there is no Clarity to what happened yesterday Kev I think it was an unceremoni
ous retirement of sorts because I believe the plan was at the conclusion of Syracuse's season whenever that came and it came yesterday pretty much at the buzzer in the opening round of the ACC tournament for the orange against Wake Forest that after a few days and the dust had settled at the end of this year Syracuse would make their announcement honoring Jim behind because he is Syracuse basketball that he was retiring and passing the torch along to Adrian red Autry however at the end of the ga
me yesterday in his post-game press conference when he was asked solely about his plans for 2023-24 and if he would consider retirement this off-season Jim could not make things easy because that is not who Jim Boeheim is at the tender age of 78 years old so when he gave that kind of jokingly statement Kev that fell a little bit flat when he said I gave my retirement speech last Saturday I guess you guys just missed it and then he was pressed by a reporter about what his plans were for 2023 and
next season and then Jim said I don't know it's up to the university and then when asked what do you want to do and he said I don't know and then they said Jim do you want to come back and he says you're talking to the wrong guy he made it very confusing the entire way to which I think Syracuse said all right Jim you said it's up to the university two hours later it's up to the university it's time to call it quits I imagine there's no way he actually thought that they would let him go though th
ough Donnie do you get the sense that the the Syracuse faithful like B Double S here really not all that broken up about it and maybe I don't know they were kind of tired of Jim beiheim and maybe they'd love to see a little man-to-man defense come across the uh what is it that ATT Wireless Stone what do they call that the JMA Wireless Dome there there it is I'm a college football guy that's right I mean I mean Donnie at the end of the day right like bayheim retiring probably whatever he's doing
good for the program and also let's keep in mind Jim Boeheim when you see some of these press releases coming out when he started and when he began when he finished up looks like he was actually you know younger in his later days than when he was in 1978 but he was the institution 47 years here's the interesting part about it though like did they come then Ben do you think if it was like you know hey look you know you're winding down here a year or two go out in style here let's announce before
the season everybody will give you your flowers you could be under 500 ACC not make the tournament standing ovations every single night for a guy that was there 47 years to basically lose on a buzzer beater and then maybe the A.D met him in the hallway and goes that's it go have your press conference we're meeting right after this it does seem kind of unceremonious because even granted one championship in 47 years but getting to the tournament year after year one of those guys where you grow up
with and you watch on TV he deserved to have the right to go out his way but it looks like they probably tried to get him to do that Ben over the last couple years and he didn't want to do it and maybe this was the best way I think that's really the case DRS when I was a sophomore in college in 2014 at Syracuse Jim Boeheim at the end of that season announced the plan for his potential succession that in three years he was going to pass the torch to then assistant coach who had been with him for
a very long time Mike Hopkins who is now at Washington with the Huskies who got bounced from the Pac-12 tournament yesterday and then Jim decided nah I'm good see my son buddy his name is Jackson but we call him buddy he's actually good enough to play at the division one level so we're going to have him here at Syracuse I want to coach him so that is what Jim did for all four years that buddy bayheim was with the Syracuse Orange and then his older son who started at Cornell Jimmy transferred to
Syracuse last year and played with the orange so when you talk about ceremonious DRS and Kev last year would have been that ceremony go out with your kids you have built Syracuse basketball to the pantheon that had fans within college hoops all around the country and call it a career now I don't believe Jim Boeheim is of the personality to welcome a retirement tour there are two Titans of college basketball in the modern era and Jim Boeheim and Coach Mike who have now walked away from basketball
in the last two years they are the all-time leaders in wins Coach K with over 1200 Jim Boeheim 1116 do not listen to what the NCAA tells you about Jim's win total record but Donnie they had very different endings like you mentioned Coach K bringing his team to the final four sure they were beat by his most bitter rival in North Carolina but it was a send-off at the Ascension of the sport for Coach K where Jim had Syracuse struggling for two years bounced in their opening game of the ACC tournam
ent at the buzzer in the city he hates the most in Greensboro North Carolina for them to have him pretty much retire slash quit or get fired on a span of two hours yes unceremonious is a way to say it and then Kev quickly to your point I've been on these Airwaves multiple times saying sir Jim please retire sir please because he is Syracuse basketball he has been the head coach for nearly a half century 47 years for the seven years prior to that he was an assistant coach he also played at Syracus
e for four years as well he has spent 58 of his 78 years correlated and orchestrated and a part of Syracuse men's basketball so he is the program but instead of honoring his legacy over these final couple of years we have had to get mad at Jim Boeheim and question if he is actually working to the benefit of the future growth of Syracuse the relevance that he built is what he was actively working at taking away and so yes Kev I think a lot of people are happy now that it is done that regardless o
f how you decide that it happened yesterday or retirement or Jim hey man we gotta make this move he is no longer the head coach of Syracuse men's basketball and hopefully we can focus on honoring his legacy because he is one of the best college basketball coaches of all time a Basketball Hall of Famer inducted in 2005 and now you look forward to the future but Kev to your point I'm in a group chat with a ton of my college friends from Syracuse where we focus on Syracuse men's basketball not many

le source that you think Villanova can win this big East tournament here my my friends over at the Paul Farrington show uh told me this talk to me about Creighton and Villanova uh and if you think this is a good matchup for the Wildcats it's a very interesting game Kev because I do believe Villanova has to make a run much like DRS said for North Carolina at Madison Square Garden to win the Big East tournament to have a shot at the big dance I do not think this is the best matchup however for thi
s Wildcats team Creighton has one of the best starting fives in all of the countries certainly within the Big East conference Creighton is playing for seating in the NCAA tournament trying to ride that momentum they found in February that kind of got stunted at the end of last month early here in the month of March I don't think this is a great matchup for Villanova I think that four and a half point spread is pretty spot on obviously if I think Villanova can win the Big East tournament not ever
