a way for people to still feel like they're like everyone else new at nine giving a hand up to those less fortunate that's what the community of the Ozark strives to do through partnership with other local agencies and thanks to more Federal funding they'll be able to keep serving those in need Francis Watson is live in our Newsroom with the details Francis yeah Maria the Ozark's Alliance and homelessness just received a $1.3 million Federal grant to help with its efforts in providing services a
nd housing and that money is going to go to a variety of causes across the area it's amazing really it's it's humbling Jennifer King currently lives on the streets of Springfield and often visits the O'Reilly Center for Hope for assistance I've had a lot of changes happen in a short amount of time and having somewhere to go and um people who care it it matters what we're looking at is to make homelessness rare brief and non- reoccurring Emily fesler is the continuum of care coordinator with the
Community Partnership of the Ozarks when we talk about homelessness we're talking about our neighbors in a sense and really bringing that humanizing aspect of the conversation I think is really important and I think that's what a lot of these programs and the case managers in the programs are doing is giving that sense of dignity back to people they're not doing things for people but they're helping people get things done she helps the organization secure grant funding recently the agency was aw
arded more than $1.3 million in Federal funding from Housing and Urban Development or HUD benefiting Partners like the kitchen and foster adopt connect to continue providing critical services not just housing it's not a one-size fits-all model by any means and when you look across the the programs that have been funded you see that you have domestic violence you have families you have youth you know there are veteran programs that get funded through the federal government as well um chronically
homeless you know so we are serving a wide variety of people for Jennifer it means receiving the support she needs I haven't used the services as much as others um still learning but they do offer a way for people to still feel like the feel like they're like everyone else where they're not segregated for not having anywhere to go and um that's enough it's just it's enough and that's what makes a difference a total of six agents in Three Counties across the Ozarks will benefit from this funding
reporting live in The Newsroom I'm Francis Watson thank you Francis a Beau
